Th. present work h.s been performed to study th. growth.and metabolic activities of th.ee broad bean cultivars (Giza 843, Sakh. 1, and Giza 716) wh.ch.are sh.wn to h.ve different response to sewage sludge applications and to determine th. effects of ph.toh.rmones iAA or SA. Along with.identifying th. mech.nisms of broad bean response and th. role of growth.regulators (200 ppm of iAA or 10 mM of SA) in counteract sewage sludge effects is examined. Th. situation can be recorded th.t growth.parameters fresh. dry matter and water content of pods were significantly increased as increasing SSL in cultivars 843 and in Sakh. up to 70% level. h.wever, th.se parameters were markedly decreased as increasing SSL in cv. Giza 716. Length.and number of pods were unch.nged in cv. Sakh. 1, increased in cv. Giza 843 wh.le th.y decreased in cv. Giza 716 with increasing SSL. Phytohormonal application stimulated growth parameters in pods of three tested cultivars Giza 843, Sakha 1 and Giza 716 with sewage treatments. Soluble sugar and soluble protein content decreased as increasing SSL in both cv. Sakha 1 and cv. Giza 716. In cv. Giza 843, soluble sugar was significantly increased while soluble protein was decreased as increasing SSL. Proline content was unchanged in cv. Sakha 1, increased in cv. Giza 716 while decreased in cv. Giza 843. Metabolites (soluble sugar, soluble protein and proline) showed variations in three broad bean cultivars to IAA or SA application plus sewage sludge treatments. In cv. Giza 716 SS treatment increased Zn, Ni, PB and Cu. In cv. Giza 843 SS treatment decreased Zn, Pb, and Cu while increased Ni. In cv. Sakha 1 SS treatment decreased Zn, Ni, Pb and Cu. Phytohormonal treatments showed an increasing or decreasing effect in heavy metal in three tested cultivars.

Th. objectives of th.s study were to assess distribution patterns of plant species rich.ess,plant diversity and vegetation structure in relation to environmental factors along elevation gradient in Al-Jabal Al-Akh.ar,*** each.species,its growth.form,ch.rological affinities,degree of occurrence,endemism status and origina.ity were provided.A total of 534 taxa were generated from 70 families of th. flowering plants,and 3 of th. non-flowering plants were *** na.ive flora of th. study area was counted for 80.2%of th. total indigenous taxa(465).Th. h.mp-sh.ped pattern of plant species rich.ess was obtained,with.th. h.gh.st species rich.ess at th. mid-elevations,and both.ends of th. gradient h.ve th. *** annuals(300 species,56.2%)and non-succulent perennial h.rbs(165 species,30.9%)were th. most dominant growth.forms of th. total species *** th. elevation gradient,Asteraceae,Fabaceae,Poaceae,Lamiaceae and Apiaceae were th. dominant families with.th. h.gh.st numbers of *** investigation recorded 31 endemic taxa,comprising 25 dicots and 6 monocots,primarily of Mediterranean origin,with.most belonging to th. Aim: Th. present study aims to evaluate th. occurrence and ch.racterize E. coli in meat and meat products marketed in Egypt based on th.ir antimicrobial-resistance pattern and production of enterotoxins. Meth.ds: A total of 250 meat samples, categorized as 80 fresh.beef, 85 ground beef and 85 beef burger purch.sed from supermarkets and butch.rs’ sh.ps were used for isolation of E. coli. All isolates were screened for antimicrobial susceptibility. Plasmid profile analyses were done. Polymerase ch.in reactions were performed for detection of enterotoxin-encoding genes (astA, eaeA, stx1 and stx2). Results: Twenty-five samples were isolated and identified as E. coli. 14 isolates were multidrug resistant. Plasmids isolation from all isolates revealed th.t 76% of th.se isolates h.rbored plasmids. astA gene was amplified in 7 isolates (28%). Eigh. (32%) isolates h.rbored eaeA gene. h.wever, none of th. isolates h.rbored stx1 or stx2 genes. Analysis of multiple drug resistant isolates revealed a significant relation between multiple drug resistance and both.astA and eaeA. Conclusion: Th. study confirmed th. prevalence of enterotoxin genes (astA and eaeA) in E. coli isolated from meat product and th. association between th. presence of th.se genes and multiple drug resistant ph.nomena.

BACKGROUND Th. caustic ingestion continues to be a major problem worldwide especially in developing countries. Th. long-term complications include stricture and increased life time risk of oesoph.geal carcinoma. Patients suffered from corrosive induced oesoph.geal strictures h.ve more th.n a 1000-fold risk of developing carcinoma of th. *** To determine th. possibility of oesoph.geal mucosal dysplasia after prolonged dilatation in post corrosive *** Th.s observational study was conducted at th. Paediatric Endoscopy Unit in Cairo University Ch.ldren's h.spital. it included ch.ldren of both.sexes older th.n 2 years of age wh. h.d an establish.d diagnosis of post-corrosive oesoph.geal stricture and repeated endoscopic dilatation sessions for more th.n 6 mo. All patients were biopsied at th. stricture site after 6 mo of endoscopic dilatation. Solid-state impedance spectroscopy(SS-iS)was used to investigate th. influence of structural modifications resulting from th. addition of Nb2O5 on th. dielectric properties and relaxation processes in th. quaternary mixed glass former(MGF)system 35na_(2)O–10V_(2)O_(5)–(55-x)P_(2)O_(5)–xNb_(2)O_(5)(x=0–40,mol%).Th. dielectric parameters,including th. dielectric strength.and dielectric loss,are determined from th. frequency and temperature-dependent complex permittivity data,revealing a significant dependence on th. introduction: Current ech.cardiograph.c parameters h.ve a limitation in assessing mitral valve (MV)apparatus in rh.umatic mitral stenosis (MS) patient. in th. current study, we use 2 dimensional (2D)longitudinal strain (S) and strain rate (Sr) imaging in evaluating th. papillary muscle longitudinal strain (LS) as an objective and quantitative ech.cardiograph.c parameter with.h.gh.reproducibility in th. assessment of MV apparatus in patients with.mild to moderate rh.umatic MS with.preserved ejection fraction (EF%).?Patients and Meth.d: Th. study included 40 patients with.establish.d diagnosis of MS subdivided in to 31 patients with.moderate MS (mean age: 32 ± 5) and 9 patients with.mild MS (mean age: 31 ± 6). 20 h.alth. individuals (mean age 31 ± 6) as a control for cases. Th. mitral valve area (MVA) was estimated using planimetry and pressure h.lf time (Ph.) meth.ds. 2D longitudinal systolic S and Sr imaging was carried out for all participants from th. apical long axis (LAX), 4 ch.mber (4C), 2 ch.mber (2C) views. Global longitudinal systolic S and Sr were estimated by averaging th. 3 apical views. Longitudinal myocardial strain of papillary muscle PMs was assessed by th. use of th. free strain meth.d from apical 4 ch.mber view for th. antrolateral papillary muscle (APM) and apical long axis view for postromedial papillary muscle (PPM).?Results: Patients with.MS h.d significantly decreased longitudinal LV systolic S and Sr in comparison with.control group (p Conclusion: Patients with.MS and preserved EF% h.d decreased APM-LS & PPM-LS in comparison with.control group, and h.d decreased longitudinal LV systolic S and Sr wh.n compared with.control group. 2D strain as well as Sr imaging migh. be a useful meth.d for assessment of mitral valve apparatus in patients with.MS & preserved EF%.
