Trophic niche changes associated with the eradication of invasive mammals in an insular lizard: an assessment using isotopes

Invasive species are a major threat to island biodiversity,and their eradications have substantially contributed to the conservation of island ***,the consequences of eradications on the trophic ecology of native taxa are largely ***,we used the eradication of invasive black rats Rattus rattus and European rabbits Oryctolagus cuniculus from the Berlenga Island,in the western coast of Portugal,as a whole-ecosystem experiment to investigate the effects of the eradication of invasive mammals on the trophic niche and body dimensions of the island-restricted Berlenga wall lizard Podarcis carbonelli berlengensis over a 2-year *** results suggest an expansion of the isotopic niche and an intensification of the sexual dimorphism of the lizard following mammal ***,we found considerable variability in isotopic niche across the island and detected evidence of sex-specific and season-modulated nutritional requirements of this threatened *** findings support that the eradication of 2 of the planets most problematic invasive vertebrates led to changes in the lizard trophic niche and sexual dimorphism in just 2 *** suggests that the ecological pressuresfor example,prey availability and habitat structureto which lizards are exposed have substantially changed *** study emphasizes the scientific value of island eradications as experiments to address a wide range of ecological questions and adds to the increasing body of evidence supporting substantial conservation gains associated with these restoration interventions.

目的哮喘-慢性阻塞性肺疾病肺重叠症(Asthma-chronie obst ructive pulmonary disease overlap,A-CO)患者的生活质量较低,肺功能较差,病情经常加重。由于暴露于污染环境会加重其症状,增加发病率和病死率,环境管理对其至关重要。旨在通过系统性综述,寻找证据,以指导制订护理干预措施,促进ACO患者对空气质量的自我管理。方法2023年3月 ,系统检索CINAHL、Medline、Academie Search Complete .Scopus、WebofScience、Cochrane图书馆、乔安娜布里格斯研究所(JoannaBriggsInstitute,JBI)循证实践数据库,以及GoogleScholar。对纳人研究进行数据提取和综合,并对护理干预措施进行分类。采用JBI研究质量评估工具进行方法学质量评估。结果共纳入5篇来自不同国家的研究。促进ACO患者自我监控空气质量的干预措施包括:警觉性干预措施(医务人员定期巡诊、进行症状评估),监测干预措施(监测室内外诱发因素) ,教育干预措施(空气质量警报、避免接触过敏原),以及相关政策的影响,如无烟政策和改善空气质量的综合战略。尽管这些研究报告了不同的干预措施,方法质量也存在差异,但这些干预措施显示了预防患者病情恶化、尽量减少急诊就诊和住院治疗的潜力。这些关键点可作为护理干预措施的关键组成部分。结论有必要采取全面措施,让护士参与促进患者自我监控空气质量的多学科团队.提高认识、制订和实施护理干预,从而使ACO患者受益。同时,需要进--步开展研究,以扩大证据基础并完善这些干预措施。

Primary Hyperoxaluria Type 1 in Adulthood: Case Series

Introduction: Primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (HP1) is a rare lithiasis with systemic involvement, due to the accumulation of calcium oxalate crystals. In the absence of therapeutic management, it progresses to end-stage chronic renal failure. The aim of this study is to describe and analyse the observations of our patients with HP1. Patients and methods: This is a retrospective study carried out between 2014 and 2023 in the Nephrology-Dialysis Transplant Department of the Ibn Sina University Hospital in Rabat. The clinical, paraclinical and evolutionary elements were taken from the patients’ medical records. Results: We collected 11 cases, with a mean age of 27 ± 8.5 years and a M/f sex ratio of 1.7. The diagnosis of HP1 was made on the basis of genetic analysis in 8 patients, morphological and spectro-photometric analysis of the calculus in one patient, biopsy of the graft in one patient and crystalluria and a family history of PH1 in one patient. Two patients died, and 8 patients were on chronic haemdialysis with systemic damage. Only one patient maintained a stable GfR at 60 ml/min. Conclusion: Early diagnosis combined with conservative treatment is the only way to limit the rapid progression of this disease. This requires awareness and collaboration between nephrologists, urologists and biologists within a specialised team.

The recent advancements made in World Wide Web and social networking have eased the spread of fake news among people at a faster *** most of the times,the intention of fake news is to misinform the people and make manipulated societal *** spread of low-quality news in social networking sites has a negative influence upon people as well as the *** order to overcome the ever-increasing dissemination of fake news,automated detection models are developed using Artificial Intelligence(AI)and Machine Learning(ML)*** latest advancements in Deep Learning(DL)models and complex Natural Language Processing(NLP)tasks make the former,a significant solution to achieve fake News Detection(fND).In this background,the current study focuses on design and development of Natural Language Processing with Sea Turtle foraging Optimizationbased Deep Learning Technique for fake News Detection and Classification(STODL-fNDC)*** aim of the proposed STODL-fNDC model is to discriminate fake news from legitimate news in an effectual *** the proposed STODL-fNDC model,the input data primarily undergoes pre-processing and Glove-based word ***,STODL-fNDC model employs Deep Belief Network(DBN)approach for detection as well as classification of fake ***,STO algorithm is utilized after adjusting the hyperparameters involved in DBN model,in an optimal *** novelty of the study lies in the design of STO algorithm with DBN model for *** order to improve the detection performance of STODL-fNDC technique,a series of simulations was carried out on benchmark *** experimental outcomes established the better performance of STODL-fNDC approach over other methods with a maximum accuracy of 95.50%.

Smart water flooding,as a popular method to change the wettability of carbonate rocks,is one of the interesting and challenging issues in reservoir *** addition,the recent studies show that nanoparticles have a great potential for application in EOR ***,little research has been conducted on the use of smart water with nanoparticles in enhanced oil *** this study,stability,contact angle and IfT measurements and multi-step core flooding tests were designed to investigate the effect of the ionic composition of smart water containing SO4^2- and Ca^2+ ions in the presence of nanofluid on EOR *** amine/organosiloxane@Al2O3/SiO2(AOAS) nanocomposite previously synthesized using co-precipitation-hydrothermal method has been used ***,for the first time the application of this nanocomposite along with smart water has been studied in this *** show that by increasing the concentrations of calcium and sulfate ions in smart water,oil recovery is improved by 9% and 10%,respectively,compared to *** addition,the use of smart water and nanofluids simultaneously is very effective on increasing oil ***,the best performance was observed in smart water containing two times of sulfate ions concentration(SW2 S) with nanofluids,showing increased efficiency of about 7.5%.

Effect of Biofertilizers on the Agromorphological Parameters of Three Okra Cultivars in Southern Côte d’Ivoire

Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) is an herbaceous plant of the Malvaceae family. In Côte d’Ivoire, okra production is estimated to be over 193,000 tons. This low production is largely due to poor soils and hardly covers the needs of the population. To remedy this, growers systematically use mineral fertilizers. However, these fertilizers pollute the environment. To find an alternative to chemical fertilization and increase production, the effect of biofertilizers (Spaawet, Retone, Super Gro) compared with NPK mineral fertilizer was evaluated on Divo, Teriman, and Djonan f1 cultivars. The trial was set up in a factorial block design with three replications. Plant height, number of functional leaves, and crown diameter were assessed at 60 days after sowing (DAS). The time to 50% flowering, production time, and fruit yield were calculated. The results showed that the biofertilizer Retone induced the highest heights and number of functional leaves, with averages of 61.89 cm and 29.88 leaves, respectively. The diameter at the crown (17.77 mm) was highest with the NPK mineral fertilizer, and the shortest 50% flowering time, with an average of 47.61 days, was also obtained with the biofertilizer Retone. The NPK mineral fertilizer produced the longest production time, with an average of 35.25 days. The highest yields were obtained using Retone (11.07 t/ha) and NPK (9.52 t/ha) fertilizers. The “Divo*Retone” interaction produced the highest yield with an average of 12.19 t/ha. The biofertilizer Retone could therefore be used as an alternative fertilizer to chemical fertilization in okra crops, given its effect on the parameters assessed.

Validation of a method to predict hammer speed from cable force

Purpose： The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a method that would facilitate immediate feedback on linear hammer speed during training. Methods： Three-dimensional hammer head positional data were measured and used to calculate linear speed （calculated speed） and cable force. These data were used to develop two linear regression models （shifted and non-shifted） that would allow prediction of hammer speed from measured cable force data （predicted speed）. The accuracy of the two models was assessed by comparing the predicted and calculated speeds. Averages of the coefficient of multiple correlation （CMC） and the root mean square （RMS） of the difference between the predicted and calculated speeds for each throw of each participant were used to assess the level of accuracy of the predicted speeds. Results： Both regression models had high CMC values （0.96 and 0.97） and relatively low RMS values （1.27 m/s and 1.05 m/s） for the non-shifted and shifted models, respectively. In addition, the average percentage differences between the predicted and calculated speeds were 6.6% and 4.7% for the non-shifted and shifted models, respectively. The RMS differences between release speeds attained via the two regression models and those attained via three-dimensional positional data were also computed. The RMS differences between the predicted and calculated release speeds were 0.69 m/s and 0.46 m/s for the non-shifted and shifted models, respectively. Conclusion： This study successfully derived and validated a method that allows prediction of linear hammer speed from directly measured cable force data. Two linear regression models were developed and it was found that either model would be capable of predicting accurate speeds. However, data predicted using the shifted regression model were more accurate.
