Residual Effect of Biochar on Soil Properties and Yield of Maiz. (<i>z.a mays L.</i>) under Different Cropping Systems

A field experiment was conducted to examine the residual influence of biochar applied previously to an established experiment at the Agriculture University Research Farm, Peshawar on soil properties and yield of maiz. crop during summer 2016. The experiment was established in RCB design with split plot arrangements having cropping systems (CS) in main plots and biochar (BC) in sub-plots. Cropping systems were: 1) wheat-mung bean;2) wheat-maiz.;3) chickpea-maiz.;and 4) chickpea-mung bean. During the past three seasons, each cropping system received biochar at 0, 40, 60 and 80 t·haǃ along with recommended dose of NPK in each season. For this study, maiz. was planted after chickpea and wheat in summer 2016. The results showed that grain yield, cobs weight and total N uptake of maiz. was significantly greater for chickpea-maiz. than for wheat-maiz. cropping system. Soil organic C was also significantly higher in soil under chickpea-maiz. than under wheat-maiz. cropping system. However, other yield components such as stover yield, harvest index and N concentration in grain and stover of maiz. and soil properties such as pH, EC and mineral N were non-significantly affected by cropping systems. With respect to residual effect of biochar grain yield of maiz. and bulk density of soil were maximum for treatment receiving biochar at 40 t·haǃ whereas cobs weight soil pH and mineral N were highest receiving biochar at 60 t·haǃ. Moreover, N concentration in stover, N uptake and soil organic C were maximum for treatment receiving biochar at 80 t·haǃ. However, stover yield, harvest index, N concentration in grain, and soil EC were non-significantly affected by biochar treatments. However interactions between CS × BC were significant for yield and yield parameters of maiz. and for soil properties (bulk density mineral N), while non-significant for harvest index, soil organic C, pH and EC. Nonlinear aspects of energy dissipation in wood-panel joints sara Casciati

The joints connecting vertical and horiz.ntal elements are the ＂weak link＂ in structural systems assembled from wood panels. If they are too weak, local failures may occur, resulting in performance that is significantly below expectations. If they are too resistant, the joints may be unable to dissipate energy during vibrations, thus possibly initiating a fast progressive failure. This paper re-processes and re-elaborates the results of shaking table tests previously carried out by the author and other co-workers. The goal is to assess the feasibility of a joint which is able to dissipate energy during vibration, without degrading the connection performance.

Globally traffic signs are used by all countries for healthier traffic flow and to protect drivers and ***,traffic signs have been of great importance for every civiliz.d country,which makes researchers give more focus on the automatic detection of traffic *** these traffic signs is challenging due to being in the dark,far away,partially occluded,and affected by the lighting or the presence of similar *** innovative traffic sign detection method for red and blue signs in color images is proposed to resolve these *** technique aimed to devise an efficient,robust and accurate *** attain this,initially,the approach presented a new formula,inspired by existing work,to enhance the image using red and green channels instead of blue,which segmented using a threshold calculated from the correlational property of the ***,a new set of features is proposed,motivated by existing *** and color features are fused after getting extracted on the channel of Red,Green,and Blue(RGB),Hue,Saturation,and Value(HSV),and YCbCr color models of ***,the set of features is employed on different classification frameworks,from which quadratic support vector machine(SVM)outnumbered the others with an accuracy of 98.5%.The proposed method is tested on German Traffic Sign Detection Benchmark(GTSDB)*** results are satisfactory when compared to the preceding work.

Citrus fruit crops are among the world’s most important agricultural products,but pests and diseases impact their cultivation,resulting in yield and quality *** vision and machine learning have been widely used to detect and classify plant diseases over the last decade,allowing for early disease detection and improving agricultural *** paper presented an automatic system for the early detection and classification of citrus plant diseases based on a deep learning(DL)model,which improved accuracy while decreasing computational *** most recent transfer learning-based models were applied to the Citrus Plant Dataset to improve classification *** transfer learning,this study successfully proposed a Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)-based pre-trained model(EfficientNetB3,ResNet50,MobiNetV2,and InceptionV3)for the identification and categoriz.tion of citrus plant *** evaluate the architecture’s performance,this study discovered that transferring an EfficientNetb3 model resulted in the highest training,validating,and testing accuracies,which were 99.43%,99.48%,and 99.58%,*** identifying and categoriz.ng citrus plant diseases,the proposed CNN model outperforms other cuttingedge CNN model architectures developed previously in the literature.

The microstructural characteristics of spherical metal powders play an important role in determining the quality of mechanical parts manufactured by powder metallurgy *** the individual powder particles from their microscopic images is one of the most convenient and cost-efficient methods for the analysis of powder *** numerous image processing algorithms have been developed for automating the powder particle identification process,they perform less accurately in identifying adjacent particles that are heavily overlapped in their image *** propose an automatic algorithm to robustly and accurately identify spherical powder particles,especially heavily overlapped particles,from their microscope images.A parallel computing framework is designed to further enhance the computational efficiency of the proposed *** characteristics such as particle siz. distribution and the location of potential satellite particles have been derived from our identification *** accuracy and efficiency of our algorithm are validated by real-world scanning electron microscope images,outperforming other existing methods and achieving both precision and recall above 99%.

Geological Controls and Prospectivity Mapping for Manganese Ore Deposits Using Predictive Modeling Comparison:An Integration of Outcrop and Remote Sensing Data,Sinai Microplate,Egypt

One of the most controversial minerals in their origin and occurrence around the world is manganese *** Abu z.nima area is rated one of the most economically important places where manganese ore deposits(Mn ODs)are located in the southwest Sinai microplate,*** deposits are confined with the Um Bogma Formation(UBF)and the reserves of this region are relatively *** this study,optical and radar data are used in a new challenge as an attempt to reach the closest controls and setting of Mn ***,Frequency Ratio(FR)and Logistic Regression(LogR)predictive models are applied to integrate different geospatial thematic maps,to predict new potential resource z.nes for increasing the ranges of mining ***8 OLI,Sentinel-2A Multi Spectral Instrument and Radar(Sentinel-1B)data are combined for mapping Mn ODs locations and their relationship with geological structures and the surrounding *** ratio,Principal and Independent Component Analysis techniques and four classification algorithms were implemented to the optical’VNIR and SWIR ***,the interferometric processing steps for Sentinel-1 data were made for understanding the tectonic features in the *** FR and LogR models are validated during fieldwork with known Mn ODs *** indicate that processed images are capable of differentiation of UBF which broadly distributed in the central and southern parts of the *** ODs possibly formed by thermal events that attributed to paleo-volcanic events before the rift *** high accuracy of LogR model(0.902)suggests that high Mn ODs potential z.nes are identified within the intersected fault z.nes near granitic *** integration is recommended for discriminating hydrothermally Mn ODs in other arid geographic regions.

A Voronoi diagram approach for detecting defects in 3D printed fiber-reinforced polymers from microscope images

Solid-state impedance spectroscopy studies of dielectric properties and relaxation processes in Na_(2)O–V_(2)O_(5)–Nb_(2)O_(5)–P_(2)O_(5) glass

Solid-state impedance spectroscopy(SS-IS)was used to investigate the influence of structural modifications resulting from the addition of Nb2O5 on the dielectric properties and relaxation processes in the quaternary mixed glass former(MGF)system 35Na_(2)O–10V_(2)O_(5)–(55-x)P_(2)O_(5)–xNb_(2)O_(5)(x=0–40,mol%).The dielectric parameters,including the dielectric strength and dielectric loss,are determined from the frequency and temperature-dependent complex permittivity data,revealing a significant dependence on the Nb2O5 *** transition from a predominantly phosphate glass network(xz.ble nature of Nb5+ions leads to a fur-ther increase in the dielectric permittivity and dielectric *** is particularly evident in Nb-40 glass-ceramic,which contains Na_(13)Nb_(35)O_(94) crystalline phase with a tungsten bronz. structure and exhibits the highest dielectric permittivity of 61.81 and the lowest loss factor of 0.032 at 303 K and 10 *** relaxation studies,analyz.d through modulus formalism and complex impedance data,show that DC conductivity and relaxation processes are governed by the same mechanism,attributed to ionic *** contrast to glasses with a single peak in frequency dependence of imaginary part of electrical modulus,M″(ω),Nb-40 glass-ceramic exhibits two distinct contributions with similar relaxation *** high-frequency peak indicates bulk ionic conductivity,while the additional low-fre-quency peak is associated with the grain boundary effect,confirmed by the electrical equivalent circuit(EEC)*** scaling characteristics of permittivity and conductivity spectra,along with the electrical modulus,validate time-temperature superposition and demonstrate a
