It is well documented that rice paddy fields act as agricultural wetlands that remove or retain nutrients;however,their associated effects on soil microbial communities are rarely *** present study evaluates the impact of rice variety on nutrient removal via plant uptake,nutrient retention in the soil,and bacterial associations in rice paddy fields,using a network analysis that compares the soil bacterial communities of two rice *** found that the high-straw rice variety(YD-1)allows uptake of a high amount of nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)from paddy rice fields via harvesting,but causes less residual total N and P to remain in the ***,both rice varieties(YD-1 and XS-134(Xiushui-134))had non-significant effects on the dominant bacterial *** short-term response of bacterial community diversity to rice variety is found to be mainly due to less frequently recovered species.A network analysis that incorporates soil nutrients as nodes,along with bacterial taxa,found that only one node representing the total P related to the non-dominant species had an indirect association with the rice straw *** observed short-term impact of the two rice varieties(XS-134 and YD-1)on soil bacterial diversity and nutrient surplus in these agricultural wetlands is limited under a high level of fertilization.

A Rebalancing Framework for Classification of Imbalanced Medical Appointment No-show Data

Purpose: This paper aims to improve the classification performance when the data is imbalanced by applying different sampling techniques available in Machine ***/methodology/approach: The medical appointment no-show dataset is imbalanced, and when classification algorithms are applied directly to the dataset, it is biased towards the majority class, ignoring the minority class. To avoid this issue, multiple sampling techniques such as Random Over Sampling(ROS), Random Under Sampling(RUS), Synthetic Minority Oversampling TEchnique(SMOTE), ADAptive SYNthetic Sampling(ADASYN), Edited Nearest Neighbor(ENN), and Condensed Nearest Neighbor(CNN) are applied in order to make the dataset balanced. The performance is assessed by the Decision Tree classifier with the listed sampling techniques and the best performance is ***: This study focuses on the comparison of the performance metrics of various sampling methods widely used. Ichthyoplankton Population in the Estuaries and Mangroves of sangaréah Bay

This study concerns the density and biomass of the ichthyoplankton population in the estuaries and mangroves of sangaréah Bay. The study resulted in the inventory of 5938 individuals divided into 20 families and 30 species, more dominated by the Carangidae, Clupeidae and Sciaenidae, which each account for 10% of the species total population. A high concentration of planktonic ichthyo organisms was observed in the Sonfonia, Samatran, Soumba and Arabanty areas. In short, the constant presence of eggs and larvae of ontogenetic stages make these estuary and mangrove zones environments of advection, migration, ontogenetic development and feeding. Ichthyoplankton is one of the modern tools used in the bio-indication and bio-monitoring of aquatic ecosystems. A diverse population dominated by fish eggs and larvae is a sign that the ecosystems surveyed are functioning properly.

Background:Gastrointestinal parasites infections are widespread in Africa and their prevalence infections vary from country to *** study aimed at assessing the prevalence of opportunistic intestinal parasites infection and other gastrointestinal parasites infection among patients attending the laboratory of Parasitology and Mycology of the University Hospital Souro Sanou of ***:A hospital cross-sectional based study was conducted from April to August,*** were persons whom parasitological examination of stools has been prescribed by a *** stools examination methods included direct wet saline examination,lugol’s iodine staining technique,formol-ether concentration and modified Ziehl-Neelsen *** recorded age and sex information for each ***:The overall prevalence of intestinal parasite infections was 65.3%(190/291).Majority of the parasitic infections was waterborne(64.3%)consisting of high prevalence of Cryptosporidium sp.(26.5%)and Entamoeba histolytica/dispar(23.4%).The prevalence of opportunistic parasites was 28.9%and Cryptosporidium *** the most prevalent species followed by Blastocystis sp.(1.0%),Cyclospora sp.(0.7%)and Isospora belli(0.7%).The prevalence of intestinal helminthes was 1.7%.Conclusions:The prevalence of intestinal parasitism in general remains high in Bobo-Dioulasso requiring the establishment of adequate diagnostic techniques,treatment and prevention.

The building of the infrastructure on the compressible and saturated soils presents sometimes major difficulties. The infrastructure undergoes strong settlement that can be due to several phenomena of consolidation of the soils. The latter results from the dissipation of the excess pore pressure and deformation of the solid skeleton. Terzaghi theory led to the equation modeling the dissipation of excess pore pressure. The objective of this study is to establish solutions, by analytical and numerical method, of the equation of the pore water pressure. We considered a compressible saturated soil layer, between two drainage areas and subjected to a uniform load. Separation of variables is used to obtain an analytical solution and the finite element method for the numerical solution. The results obtained by the finite element method have validated those of analytical resolution.

Assessment and Impact of Leachate Generated by the Landfill City in Abidjan on the Quality of Ground Water and Surface Water (M’Badon Bay, Côte d’Ivoire)

The municipal Akouedo landfill of the city of Abidjan (Cote d’Ivoire) is composed of more than 60% of household waste. It lacks a leachate collecting and treatment device. To highlight the impact of the leachate on the receiving environments, some sampling campaigns of leachate, groundwater and surface waters were conducted from June 2013 to January 2014. Analyses of leachate samples revealed relatively high concentrations of trace metals: Fe (6450 ± 8690 μg/L), Cu (400 ± 272 μg/L), Zn (520 ± 240 μg/L), Cd (113 ± 105 μg/L), Pb (550 ± 237 μg/L), Ni (312 ± 97 μg/L) and Co (77 ± 56 μg/L). Fe is the most abundant chemical element. The analysis of groundwater and surface indicates that the levels of trace metals in these waters are higher than WHO standards except Zn.

ECG and Echocardiography Findings: A Comparative Study between Sportive and Sedentary Female Patients (Bamako, Mali)

Objective: To study cardiovascular cardiac and echocardiographic features in high-level footballers and sedentary women in Bamako. Materials and Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted in Bamako from April 2015 to March 2016 among 14 to 35 years old high-level footballers and a group of untrained women. Data including socio-demographic, physical examination, ECG record and echocardiogram was inserted in Microsoft Excel and analyzed with IBM SPSS. Chi Square and Fisher statistical tests were used to compare our results. The significance level was p 0.05. Results: Forty-three female subjects, 51% being sedentary were recruited. Mean age, weight and height were significantly higher in sportswomen than in sedentary women with respectively p of <0.0001, 0.003 and 0.036. Bradycardia was found in sports subjects in 28.6% and sedentary tachycardia in 18.2%. Left ventricular hypertrophy and dilatation and left atrial dilatation were predominant in sportswomen. Conclusion: Bradycardia, left ventricle hypertrophy and dilatation were found more in sportswomen. These changes acquired through physical training are aspects of cardiac adaptation that we found in our sample. Other aspects were not found probably due to the small size of the sample.

Objective::To identify Candida species in asymptomatic subjects in Bobo-Dioulasso(Burkina Faso) by the matrix—assisted laser desortption ionization—time of flight mass ***:A cross-sectional study was conducted from January to February 2013 in BohoDioulasso to coiled fecal and urine specimens from voluntary *** strains were isolated on Sabouraud dextrose agar and analyzed using matrix—assisted laser desorption ionisation—time-of—flight mass ***:A total of 135 samples including stools(78.5%,106/135) and urine(21.5%,29/135) were *** results revealed that fecal specimens contained mainly Candida krusei(***)(42.5%) followed by Candida albicans(29.3%),Candida glabrata(18.0%) and Candida tropicalis(***)(4.7%).***(34.6%) was also found to be the most frequently identified in urine samples followed by Candida albicans(27.0%).***(15.4%) and Candida parapsilosis,However,uncommon species such as Candida *** *** norvegensis,Candida *** lusitaniae and Candida robusta were also identified from fecal and urines ***:This study noted the emergence of species such as ***,Candida glabrata,Candida parapsiolosis,***,Candida nivariensis,Candida norvegensis,and *** is an imperative to take into account the existence of these species in the therapeutic management of patients in Bobo—Dioulasso.

Introduction: Every year, nearly 4 million people pass away from acute respiratory infections. 98% of such deaths are due to lower respiratory tract infections. Even though studies have been carried on lower respiratory infections x-ray aspects in Mali, very few studies have been done to reveal bacteriological and virological evidence of this disease. Materials and methods: It is about a descriptive prospective study carried out from January to December 2018 having involved patients of all ages, coming for medical consultation at the Yirimadio Community-based health center as well as children from 6 months to 15 years old coming at the pediatric department of UHC Hôpital du Mali for a lower respiratory infection. They had all undergone chest X-ray and a PCR. The purpose: of this work is to study etiological and x-ray aspects of acute lower respiratory infections at the Yirimadio Community-based Health Center and at the UHC pediatric department of Hôpital du Mali. Findings: From January to December 2018, we recorded a frequency of 1.19%. The age group 0 - 5 years was the most represented (64.5%) with a sex ratio of 0.97 for women. Cough was the most common clinical sign (98.7%) followed by fever (58.9%). Standard frontal chest X-ray was pathological in 70% of our patients. It was bronchitis in 75.4% of cases, pneumonia (13.5%), and bronchopneumonia (12.3%). PCR positive was in 83.9% of patients. It revealed a co-infection in more than half of the patients (52.5%), bacterial infection (16.1%) and viral infection (15.2%). Pathogens isolated ranked by frequency were Streptococcus pneumoniaa (87.6%) followed by Staphylococcus aureus (24.9%) and human rhinovirus (17%). The most common viral causes were human rhinovirus (17%), followed by influenza A and B virus (7%) and human parainfluenza virus (7%).
