Developing highly efficient and durable catalysts for future electrochemical and energy applications is one of the main subjects of current studies in renewable energy generation. In the past several years, researchers have developed Pt-based alloy electrocatalyst nanomaterials that exhibit promising electrocatalytic properties for various electrochemical applications. The efficient structural and morphological control of Pt-based alloy materials plays a decisive role in achieving these enhanced electrocatalytic properties. The present review article emphasizes the recent progress and important developments in the synthesis and electrocatalytic applications of Pt-group-based nanodendrite materials. The following review will help the exploration and development of better catalysts for practical applications and aims to elucidate the nanodendrite structure of Pt-group metals.

The strain behavior of 0.71 Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3)ePbTiO_(3)(PMN-PT)single crystal prepared by a solidstate single crystal growth method was investigated on two most widely used orientations,i.e.,(001)-and(011)-oriented.A special emphasis was put on the correlation among longitudinal and transverse strains and the consequent volume *** show that seemingly different strain behavior of(001)-and(011)-oriented crystals has the same origin,and the underlying mechanism excludes possible contribution from the frequently cited polarization *** situ monitoring of electric field induced Poisson’s ratio further suggested that the polarization vectors contributing to the strain properties in PMN-PT are not confined to a unique direction forced by the crystallographic symmetry but possess a span of angular range.

Medulloepitheliomas are the second most common type of pediatric intraocular tumors. They display clinical characteristics similar to retinoblastomas, such as leukocorias and intraocular endophytic masses, and are extremely difficult to clinically differentiate from retinoblastomas.

The polymeric gel electrolytes are attractive owing to their higher ionic conductivities than those of dry polymer electrolytes and lowered water activity for enlarged potential ***,the ionic conductivity and mechanical strength of the Na-ion conducting polymeric gel electrolytes are limited by below 20 mS cm−1 and 2.2 ***,we demonstrate Na-ion conducting and flexible polymeric hydrogel electrolytes of the chemically coupled poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride)-dextrin-N,N′-methylene-bisacrylamide film immersed in NaClO_(4) solution(ex-DDA-Dex+NaClO_(4))for flexible sodium-ion hybrid capacitors(f-NIHC).In particular,the anion exchange reaction and synergistic interaction of ex-DDA-Dex with the optimum ClO_(4)−enable to greatly improve the ionic conductivity up to 27.63 mS cm−1 at 25◦C and electrochemical stability window up to 2.6 V,whereas the double networking structure leads to achieve both the mechanical strength(7.48 MPa)and softness of hydrogel ***,the f-NIHCs with the ex-DDA-Dex+NaClO_(4) achieved high specific and high-rate capacities of 192.04 F g^(−1)at 500 mA g^(−1)and 116.06 F g^(−1)at 10000 mA g^(−1),respectively,delivering a large energy density of 120.03Wh kg^(−1)at 906Wkg^(−1)and long cyclability of 70%over 500 cycles as well as demonstrating functional operation under mechanical stresses.

Enhanced thermoelectric composite performance from mesoporous carbon additives in a commercial Bi_(0.5)Sb_(1.5)Te_(3) matrix

Composites were prepared,through hot pressing,using carbon materials with different pore size distributions as additives for commercial Bi_(0.5)Sb_(1.5)Te_(3) thermoelectric material(BST,p-type).Thermoelectric properties of the composites were measured in a temperature range of 298-473 *** conductivity of the composites,especially lattice thermal conductivity,was effectively decreased due to the mesoporous properties of the incorporated carbon *** electrical conductivity of the composites slightly decreased due to the electron scattering at the interface between the carbon material and the commercial BST *** composite with 0.2 vol.%mesoporous carbon powder(36%mesoporosity)exhibited a figure of merit value approximately 10.7%higher than that of commercial BST without *** behavior resulted in 116%improved output power in the composite block-based single element compared with a bare BST thermoelectric *** enhanced figure of merit was attributed to the effective reduction of lattice thermal conductivity by acoustic phonons scattering at the interface between the BST matrix and the mesoporous carbon as well as at the pore surfaces within the mesoporous *** utilizing mesoporous carbon materials used in this study,the shortcomings and economic difficulties of the composite process with low dimensional carbon additives(carbon nanotubes,graphene,and nanodiamond)can be overcome for extensive practical *** carbon powder with a tailored porosity distribution revealed the validity of bulk-type carbon additives to enhance the figure of merit of commercial thermoelectric materials.

A virtual reconfigurable architecture(VRA)-based evolvable hardware is proposed for automatic synthesis of combinational logic circuits at *** proposed VRA is implemented by a Celoxica RC1000 peripheral component interconnect(PCI)board with an Xilinx Virtex xcv2000E field programmable gate array(FPGA).To improve the quality of the evolved circuits,the VRA works through a two-stage evolution: finding a functional circuit and minimizing the number of logic gates used in a feasible *** optimize the algorithm performance in the two-stage evolutionary process and set free the user from the time-consuming process of mutation parameter tuning,a self-adaptive mutation rate control(SAMRC)scheme is *** the evolutionary process,the mutation rate control parameters are encoded as additional genes in the chromosome and also undergo evolutionary *** efficiency of the proposed methodology is tested with the evolutions of a 4-bit even parity function,a 2-bit multiplier,and a 3-bit *** obtained results demonstrate that our scheme improves the evolutionary design of combinational logic circuits in terms of quality of the evolved circuit as well as the computational effort,when compared to the existing evolvable hardware approaches.

Yb3+/Ln3+(Ln=Er/Tm/ho)-α-sialon ceramics were fabricated by hot press sintering *** microstructure and luminescent properties were studied by XRD,EDS,HRTEM and photoluminescence *** results showed that the sintered ceramics consisted ofα-Sialon with a trace amount ofβ-Sialon *** frequency upconversion and downconversion properties of Yb3+/Ln3+(Ln=Er/Tm/ho)-α-Sialon ceramics were investigated under 980 nm low-power *** different concentrations of Yb3+/Ln3+(Ln=Er/Tm/ho)produced multicolor emissions characteristics of each Ln3+ion as a result of the energy transfer from Yb3+to Er3+,Tm3+and ho3+*** EDS spectra measurements and mappings showed that the Ln3+ions were well incorporated in theα-Sialon *** evolution of the emission decay behavior has been investigated to understand the energy transfer mechanism.

AIM： To investigate the efficacy of combined topical 0.05% cyclosporine A（CsA; Restasis~？, Allergan pharmaceuticals, USA） and 0.1% sodium hyaluronate treatment in dry eyes with meibomian gland dysfunction（MGD）.METhoDS： In a retrospective analysis, 53 patients（106 eyes） with MGD were enrolled and performed lid warm massage for 10 min daily and be instilled preservative free sodium hyaluronate 0.1% eye drops 4 times daily. Patients were divided into subjects treated with topical 0.05% CsA and preservative free sodium hyaluronate vehicle（experimental group, n=74 eyes） and subjects treated with the preservative free sodium hyaluronate vehicle（control group, n=32 eyes）. They were evaluated at baseline and 1, 2, and 3 mo for subjective symptoms and objective signs including tear film break-up time（t BUT）, Schirmer test, corneal staining（CS） score, lid margin telangiectasia（LMT）, meibomian gland secretion（MGS）, and conjunctival injection（CI）.RESULTS： In the short-term treatment, the experimental group showed a statistically significant improvement in the ocular surface disease index（OSDI; P〈0.001）, tBUT（P=0.004）, Schirmer test score（P=0.008） and LMT（P=0.021） by repeated measure ANOVA. Additionally, mean changes from baseline in OSDI（P〈0.001）, tBUT（P=0.001）, Schirmer test score（P=0.029）, CS score（P=0.047）, LMT（P=0.002）, CI（P=0.030） were improved better in the experimental group than in the control group at 3 mo. however, there was no significant difference between the two groups in MGS（P=0.67）.CONCLUSION： In dry eyes with MGD, 0.05% CsA improves the tear film stability as well as subjective ocular discomfort, and is effective in controlling lid margin inflammation.

The rendezvous procedure combines an endoscopic technique with percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage(PTBD).When a selective common bile duct cannulation fails,PTBD allows successful drainage and retrograde access for subsequent rendezvous ***,rendezvous procedures such as the PTBDassisted over-the-wire cannulation method,or the parallel cannulation technique,may be available when a bile duct cannot be selectively *** selective intrahepatic bile duct(IHD) cannulation fails,this modified rendezvous technique may be a feasible *** report the case of a modified rendezvous technique,in which the guidewire was retrogradely passed into the IHD through the C2 catheter after end-to-end contact between the tips of the sphincterotome and the C2 catheter at the ampulla's orifice,in a 39-year-old man who had been diagnosed with gallbladder carcinoma with a metastatic right IHD *** this procedure may be a feasible and timesaving technique.
