Preparation and Characterization of Porous PVdF-HFP/clay Nanocomposite Membranes

Polyvinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene （PVdF-HFP） / clay nanocomposite membranes were prepared by phase inversion method through controlling retention time to apply for a lithium ion secondary batteries. Increased membrane porosity with macrovoids was observed at increasing retention time. Partially intercalated structures of PVdF-HFP/clay nanocomposite membranes were confirmed by X-ray diffraction （XRD） analysis. PVdF-HFP membranes containing various kind of clay showed the increase of membrane modulus compared to the pristine PVdF-HFP membrane.

Aqueous Zn-ion batteries (AZIBs) have received considerable attention owing to their various advantages such as safety,low cost,simple battery assembly conditions,and high ionic ***,they still suffer from serious problems,including uncontrollable dendrite growth,corrosion,hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) from water decomposition,electrode passivation,and unexpected *** creation of a uniform artificial nanocrystal layer on the Zn anode surface is a promising strategy for resolving these ***,we propose the use of a perovskite CaTiO_(3)(CTO) protective layer on Zn(CTO@Zn) as a promising approach for improving the performance of *** CTO artificial layer provides an efficient pathway for Zn ion diffusion towards the Zn metal because of the high dielectric constant (εr=180) and ferroelectric characteristics that enable the alignment of dipole moments and redistribute the Zn^(2+)ions in the CTO *** avoiding the direct contact of the Zn anode with the electrolyte solution,the uneven dendrite growth,corrosion,parasitic side reactions,and HER are mitigated,while CTO retains its mechanical and chemical robustness during ***,CTO@Zn demonstrates an improved lifespan in a symmetric cell configuration compared with bare ***@Zn shows steady overpotential (~68 m V) for 1500 h at 1 mA cm^(-2)/0.5 mA h cm^(-2),excelling bare ***,when paired with the V_(2)O_(5)-C cathode,the CTO@Zn//V_(2)O_(5)-C full battery delivers 148.4 mA h g^(-1)(based on the mass of the cathode) after 300 *** study provides new insights into Zn metal anodes and the development of high-performance AZIBs.

For deblurring images corrupted by random valued noise, two-phase methods first select likely-to-be reliables （data that are not corrupted by random valued noise） and then deblur images only with selected data. Two-phase methods, however, often cause defective data artifacts, which are mixed results of missing data artifacts caused by the lack of data and noisy data artifacts caused mainly by falsely selected outliers （data that are corrupted by random valued noise）. In this paper, to suppress these defective data artifacts, we propose a blurring model based reliable-selection technique to select reliables as many as possible to make all of to-be-recovered pixel values to contribute to selected data, while excluding outliers as accurately as possible. We also propose a normalization technique to compensate for non-uniform rates in recovering pixel values. We conducted simulation studies on Gaussian and diagonal deblurring to evaluate the performance of proposed techniques. Simulation results showed that proposed techniques improved the performance of two-phase methods, by suppressing defective data artifacts effectively.

This paper introduces a new method for a formula for electron spin relaxation time of a system of electrons interacting with phonons through phonon-modulated spin-orbit coupling using the projection-reduction method. The phonon absorption and emission processes as well as the photon absorption and emission processes in all electron transition processes can be explained in an organized manner, and the result can be represented in a diagram that can provide intuition for the quantum dynamics of electrons in a solid. The temperature （T） dependence of electron spin relaxation times （T1） in silicon is T1 ∝ T-1.07 at low temperatures and T1 ∝ T-3.3 at high temperatures for acoustic deformation constant Pad = 1.4 × 10^7 eV and optical deformation constant Pod = 4.0 × 10^17 eV/m. This means that electrons are scattered by the acoustic deformation phonons at low temperatures and optical deformation phonons at high temperatures, respectively. The magnetic field （B） dependence of the relaxation times is T1 ∝ B-2.7 at 100 K and T1 ∝ B-2.3 at 150 K, which nearly agree with the result of Yafet, T1 ∝ B-3.0- B -2.5.

Jasmonic acid （JA） functions in plant development, including senescence and immunity. Arabidopsis thaliana CORONATINE INSENSITIVE 1 encodes a JA receptor and functions in the JA‐responsive signaling pathway. The Arabidopsis genome harbors a single COI gene, but the rice （Oryza sativa） genome harbors three COI homologs, OsCOI1a, OsCOI1b, and OsCOI2. Thus, it remains unclear whether each OsCOI has distinct, additive, synergistic, or redundant func-tions in development. Here, we use the oscoi1b‐1 knockout mutants to show that OsCOI1b mainly affects leaf senescence under senescence‐promoting conditions. oscoi1b‐1 mutants stayed green during dark‐induced and natural senescence, with substantial retention of chlorophylls and photosyn-thetic capacity. Furthermore, several senescence‐associated genes were downregulated in oscoi1b‐1 mutants, including homologs of Arabidopsis thaliana ETHYLENE INSENSITIVE 3 and ORESARA 1, important regulators of leaf senescence. These results suggest that crosstalk between JA signaling and ethylene signaling affects leaf senescence. The Arabidopsis coi1‐1 plants containing 35S：OsCOI1a or 35S：OsCOI1b rescued the delayed leaf senescence during dark incubation, sug-gesting that both OsCOI1a and OsCOI1b are required for promoting leaf senescence in rice. oscoi1b‐1 mutants showed significant decreases in spikelet fertility and grain weight, leading to severe reduction of grain yield, indicating that OsCOI1‐mediated JA signaling affects spikelet fertility and grain filling.

We present a photodiode-based Chua＇s chaotic circuit that is controllable by light. The proposed circuit consists of an inductor, two passive capacitors, a photodiode-based variable resistor, and a positive feedback trans- conductor with negative nonlinearity. The chaotic dynamics of the circuit were verified by using the simulation program with integrated circuit emphasis analysis using the 0.35 #m complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor process parameters. The gain results （such as the time waveform~ frequency analysis, three-dimensional attractor, bifurcation and Lyapunov exponents diagrams） confirm that the chaotic behavior of the circuit could be controlled by light intensity via the photodiode-based variable resistor.

Research on human emotions has started to address psychological aspects of human nature and has advanced to the point of designing various models that represent them quantitatively and systematically. Based on the findings, a method is suggested for emotional space formation and emotional inference that enhance the quality and maximize the reality of emotion-based personalized services. In consideration of the subjective tendencies of individuals, AHP was adopted for the quantitative evaluation of human emotions, based on which an emotional space remodeling method is suggested in reference to the emotional model of Thayer and Plutchik, which takes into account personal emotions. In addition, Sugeno fuzzy inference, fuzzy measures, and Choquet integral were adopted for emotional inference in the remodeled personalized emotional space model. Its performance was evaluated through an experiment. Fourteen cases were analyzed with 4.0 and higher evaluation value of emotions inferred, for the evaluation of emotional similarity, through the case studies of 17 kinds of emotional inference methods. Matching results per inference method in ten cases accounting for 71% are confirmed. It is also found that the remaining two cases are inferred as adjoining emotion in the same section. In this manner, the similarity of inference results is verified.

Endoscopic submucosal dissection for undifferentiated-type early gastric cancer: Do we have enough data to support this?

Although endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is now accepted for treatment of early gastric cancers (EGC) with negligible risk of lymph node (LN) metastasis, ESD for intramucosal undifferentiated type EGC without ulceration and with diameter ≤ 2 cm is regarded as an investigational treatment according to the Japanese gastric cancer treatment guidelines. This consideration was largely based on the analysis of surgically resected EGCs that contained undifferentiated type EGCs; however, results from several institutes showed some discrepancies in sample size and incidence of LN metastasis. Recently, some reports about the safety and efficacy of ESD for undifferentiated type EGC meeting the expanded criteria have been published. Nonetheless, only limited data are available regarding long-term outcomes of ESD for EGC with undifferentiated histology so far. At the same time, endoscopists cannot ignore the patients’ desire to guarantee quality of life after the relatively non-invasive endoscopic treatment when compared to conventional surgery. To satisfy the needs of patients and provide solid evidence to support ESD for undifferentiated EGC, we need more delicate tools to predict undetected LN metastasis and more data that can reveal predictive factors for LN metastasis.

The current-voltage (I-V) curves, such as linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) and cyclic voltammetry (CV), were employed to evaluate the effect of electrolyte concentration on the electrochemical reaction trend. From the I-V curve, the electrochemical states of active, passive, transient and trans-passive region could be characterized. And then, the mechanism of the process of voltage-induced material removal in electrochemical mechanical polishing (ECMP) of copper was investigated. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analyses were used to observe the surface profile. Finally, the oxidation and reduction processes of the Cu surface were monitored by the repetition of anodic and cathodic potential from cyclic voltammetry (CV) method in acid-and alkali-based electrolyte.
