BACKGROUND Ulcerative colitis(UC)is an uncommon inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).However,its incidence has recently increased in South ***,UC diagnoses are frequently delayed,and the relationship between diagnostic delay and UC prognosis has not been extensively studied in South Korean *** To identify meaningful diagnostic delay affecting UC prognosis and to evaluate risk factors associated with diagnostic delay in South Korean *** Medical records of 718 patients with UC who visited the outpatient clinic of six university hospitals in South Korea were reviewed;167 cases were excluded because the first symptom date was *** evaluated the relationship between the prognosis and a diagnostic delay of 3,6,12,18,and 24 mo by comparing the prognostic factors[anti-tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-αuse,admission history due to acute flare-ups,frequent admission due to flare-ups,surgery associated with UC,and the clinical remission state at the latest followup]at each diagnostic *** The mean diagnostic interval was 223.3±483.2 d(median,69 d;75th percentile,195 d).Among the prognostic factors,anti-TNFαuse was significantly increased after a diagnostic delay of 24 *** risk factors predictive of a 24-mo diagnostic delay were age24 mo was associated with increased anti-TNFα***<60 years at diagnosis,smoking history,and misdiagnosis of hemorrhoids were risk factors for delayed diagnosis.

Hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection is a global health problem and more than 350 million people worldwide are chronic carriers of the *** the recent dramatic decline in HBV chronic patients through successful programs of hepatitis B surface antigen vaccination,South Korea is still recognized as an endemic area of HBV *** infections in South Korea exhibit several distinct features in epidemiologic and clinical *** this review paper,we summarize the distinct HBV mutation patterns related to clinical severity and the molecular epidemiologic traits in Korean chronic patients based on previous ***,several lines of evidence,including our previous results,have led to the conclusion that a combination of the exclusive predominance of genotype C2,which is prone to mutations,the high prevalence of basal core promoter double mutations,and the presence of distinct immune responses against HBV proteins in the Korean population may generate the distinct HBV variants rarely or not encountered in other areas,which results in distinct clinical manifestations in Korean chronic *** may provide a novel insight into the relationships between clinical severity,HBV genotype distribution,and HBV naturally occurring variants.

The level structure of the double-magic nucleus ^(34)Si(Z=14,N=20)was investigated by evaluating the available *** the basis of experimental results from the beta-decay and fusion-evaporation reactions,we established the level scheme by assigning spin-parities up to 6_(1)^(+)at 6233 *** high energy positions of the excited states are consistent with the magicity at ^(34)Si,such as the 2_(2)^(+)state of the spherical ground band at 4.519 MeV and the 3^(-),4^(-),and 5^(-)states of the one-particle one-hole cross-shell states at approximately 4.5 *** nucleus,for a long time,has attracted much attention because of,on one side,a proton bubble structure in the ground state and,on the other side,a deformation in the second 0^(+)state,0_(2)^(+).By a comparison of the constructed level scheme with the shell model calculations,we describe the emerging structures in the ground and second 0+states and the negative-parity 3^(-)states within the framework of the shell model *** propose a deformed rotational band with the cascading 6_(2)^(+)−4_(1)^(+)−2_(1)^(+)transitions built on the 0_(2)^(+)state.

Nielsen type numbers and homotopy minimal periods for maps on the 3-nilmanifolds

For all continuous maps on the 3-nilmanifolds, we give explicit formulae for a complete computation of the Nielsen type numbers NP_n(f)and Nφ_n(f). The most general cases were explored by Heath and Keppelmann and the complementary part is studied in this paper. While studying the homotopy minimal periods of all maps on the 3-nilmanifolds, we also give a complete description of the homotopy minimal periods for all maps on the 3-nilmanifolds, including a correction to Jezierski and Marzantowicz’s result.

FEATURE NETWORK-DRIVEN QUADRANT MAPPING FOR SUMMARIZING CUSTOMER REVIEWS

With the rapid growth of e-commerce, customers increasingly write online reviews of the product they purchase. These customer reviews are one of the most valuable sources of information affecting selection of products or services. Summarizing these customer reviews is becoming an interesting area of research, inspiring researchers to develop a more condensed, concise summarization for users. However, most of the current efforts at summarization are based on general product features without feature＇s relationship. As a result, these summaries either ignore feedback from customers or do a poor job of reflecting the opinions expressed in customer reviews. To remedy this summarization shortcoming, we propose a feature network-driven quadrant mapping that captures and incorporates opinions from customer reviews. Our focus is on construction of a feature network, which is based on co-occurrence and sematic similarities, and a quadrant display showing the opinions polarity of feature groups. Moreover, the proposed approach involves clustering similar product features, and thus, it is different from standard text summarization based on abstraction and extraction. The summarized results can help customers better understand the overall opinions about a product.

Favorable surgical treatment outcomes for chronic constipation with features of colonic pseudo-obstruction

AIM:To determine long-term outcomes of surgical treatments for patients with constipation and features of colonic ***:Consecutive 42 patients who underwent surgery for chronic constipation within the last 13 years were prospectively *** identified a subgroup with colonic pseudo-obstruction(CPO) features,with dilatation of the colon proximal to the narrowed transitional zone,in contrast to typical slowtransit constipation(STC),without any dilated colonic *** outcomes of surgical treatments for chronic constipation with features of CPO were analyzed and compared with outcomes for ***:Of the 42 patients who underwent surgery for constipation,33 patients had CPO with dilatation of the colon proximal to the narrowed transitional *** were 16 males and 17 females with a mean age of 51.2 ± 16.1 *** had symptoms of chronic intestinal obstruction,including abdominal distension,pain,nausea,or vomiting,and the mean duration of symptoms was 67 mo(range:6-252 mo).Preoperative defecation frequency was 1.5 ± 0.6 times/wk(range:1-2 times/wk).Thirty-two patients underwent total colectomy,and one patient underwent diverting transverse *** was no surgery-related *** histologic examination showed hypoganglionosis or agangliosis in 23 patients and hypoganglionosis combined with visceral neuropathy or myopathy in 10 *** contrast,histology of STC group revealed intestinal neuronal dysplasia type B(n = 6) and visceral myopathy(n = 3).Early postoperative complications developed in six patients with CPO;wound infection(n = 3),paralytic ileus(n = 2),and intraabdominal abscess(n = 1).Defecation frequencies 3 mo after surgery improved to 4.2 ± 3.2 times/d(range:1-15 times/d).Long-term follow-up(median:39.7 mo) was available in 32 patients;all patients had improvements in constipation symptoms,but two patients needed intermittent medication for management of *** 32 patients had distinct

Optimal biliary drainage for inoperable Klatskin's tumor based on Bismuth type

AIM： To investigate differences in the effects of biliary drainage procedures in patients with inoperable Klatskin＇s tumor based on Bismuth type, considering endoscopic retrograde biliary drainage （ERBD）, external percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage （EPTBD） and internal biliary stenting via the PTBD tract （IPTBD）. METHODS： The initial success rate, cumulative patency rate, and complication rate were compared retrospectively, according to the Bismuth type and ERBD, EPTBD, and IPTBD. Patency was defined as the duration for adequate initial bile drainage or to the point of the patient＇s death associated with inadequate drainage. RESULTS： One hundred thirty-four patients （93 men, 41 women; 21 Bismuth type Ⅱ, 47Ⅲ, 66 Ⅳ; 34 ERBD, 66 EPTBD, 34 IPTBD） were recruited. There were no differences in demographics among the groups. Adequate initial relief of jaundice was achieved in 91% of patients without a significant difference in the results among different procedures or Bismuth types. The cumulative patency rates for ERBD and IPTBD were better than those for EPTBD with Bismuth type Ⅲ. IPTBD provided an excellent response for Bismuth type IV. However, there was no difference in the patency rate among drainage procedures for Bismuth type Ⅱ. Procedure-related cholangitis occurred less frequently with EPTBD than with ERBD and IPTBD. CONCLUSION： ERBD is recommended as the firstline drainage procedure for the palliation of jaundice in patients with inoperable Klatskin＇s tumor of Bismuth type Ⅱ or Ⅲ, but IPTBD is the best option for Bismuth type Ⅳ.

We derive averaging formulas for the Lefschetz coincidence numbers,the Nielsen coincidence numbers and the Reidemeister coincidence numbers of maps on infra-solvmanifolds modeled on a connected and simply connected solvable Lie group of type(R).As an application,we compare our formula for the Nielsen coincidence numbers with a result of Jezierski(1992)for pairs of maps on some infra-solvmanifolds of *** all the pairs of self-maps of a nonorientable infra-solvmanifold of Sol,we determine the sets of all the possible values of the Nielsen coincidence numbers and the Reidemeister coincidence numbers.

Bacteriophage cocktail supplementation improves growth performance,gut microbiome and production traits in broiler chickens

Background:Effective antibiotic alternatives are urgently needed in the poultry industry to control disease *** therapy mainly utilizes lytic phages to kill their respective bacterial hosts and can be an attractive solution to combating the emergence of antibiotic resistance in ***:Five hundred and four,one-day-old broilers(Ross 308)were allotted to 1 of 4 treatment groups in a completely randomized *** consisted of CON(basal diet),PC(CON+0.025%Avilamax®),BP 0.05(CON+0.05%bacteriophage),and BP 0.10(CON+0.10%bacteriophage).Results:A significant linear effect on body weight gain(BWG)was observed during days 1–7,days 22–35,and cumulatively in bacteriophage(BP)supplemented *** BWG tended to be higher(P=0.08)and the feed intake(FI)was increased(P=0.017)in the PC group over CON group.A greater(P=0.016)BWG and trends in increased FI(P=0.06)were observed in the experiment in birds fed PC than CON *** the genus level,the relative abundance of Lactobacillus was decreased in PC(65.28%),while it was similar in BP 0.05 and BP 0.10(90.65%,86.72%)compared to CON(90.19%).At the species level,the relative abundance of Lactobacillus salivarus was higher in BP 0.05(40.15%)and BP 0.10(38.58%)compared to the CON(20.04%)and PC(18.05%).A linear reduction in the weight of bursa of Fabricius(P=0.022)and spleen(P=0.052)was observed in birds fed graded level of BP and an increase(P=0.059)in the weight of gizzard was observed in birds fed PC over BP *** and quadratic responses were observed in redness of breast muscle color in birds fed graded level of ***:The inclusion of the 0.05%and 0.1%BP cocktail linearly improved broiler weight during the first 7 days,22–35 days and cumulatively,whereas 0.05%BP addition was sufficient for supporting immune organs,bursa and spleen as well as enhancing gut microbiome,indicating the efficacy of 0.05%BP as a substitute antibiotic growth promoter in broiler diets.
