Garden pea productivity and qualities are hampered in zinc(Zn),boron(B),and molybdenum(Mo)deficient ***,the combination of micronutrients(i.e.,Zn,B,and Mo)and rhizobium is necessary to increase the productivity and quality of garden peas,since this management for garden peas is neglected in ***,the present study was made to assess the effectiveness of rhizobium inoculant singly or in combination with the micronutrients(i.e.,Zn,B,and Mo)on growth,yield,nutrient uptake,and quality of garden *** were:T_(1)=Control,T_(2)=Rhizobium inoculation at 50 g/kg seed,T_(3)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)Mo1,T_(4)=T_(2)+B_(2)Mo1,T_(5)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)B_(2),T_(6)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)B_(2)Mo1 and T_(7)=Zn_(3)B_(2)*** treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design and repeated all treatments in three *** application of 3 kg Zn,2 kg B,and 1 kg Mo ha^(−1)with inoculation of Rhizobium at 50 g kg^(−1)seed(T_(6))facilitated to increase of 44.8%in the green pod and 29.7%seed yield over *** same treatment contributed to attaining the maximum nodulation(25.3 plant^(−1)),Vitamin C(43.5 mg 100 g^(−1)),protein content(22.2%),and nutrient uptake as well as accumulation in garden *** all treatment combinations,treatment T_(6)was found superior to others based on microbial activities,soil fertility,and *** results of the study found that the application of 3 kg Zn,2 kg B,and 1 kg Mo ha^(−1)in combination with Rhizobium inoculation(50 g kg^(−1)seed)can improve the yield and quality of garden *** results of the study have the potential for the areas,where there is no use of Rhizobium inoculant or Zn,B,and Mo fertilizer for cultivation of garden pea.

Molecular investigation of the Arabian horse breeds of racing, productivity and longevity

The Arabian;horse Equus caballus is belonging to family Equidae that all of its species are in danger of extinction. We sequenced 1059 nucleotides from three mitochondrial DNA protein coding genes for some breeds of the Arabian and English horses designated for race, productivity and longevity in order to investigate their genetic variation. The sequenced genes were NADH dehydrogenase subunit 2 (ND2), cyto-chrome C oxidase subunit 1 (CO1) and ATPase subunit 6 (ATP6). ATP6 discriminated among the different breeds where seven substitutions were recorded of which 2 were non-synonymous. The other loci recoded 8 synonymous substitutions of transitions most of which were among the breeds of longevity. The data of CO1 gene were used to construct the relationship of the Arabian horse to the thoroughbreds. Maximum-likelihood (ML) and Neighbor-joining (NJ) analytical methods were used. The two analytical methods showed clustering of the Arabian breeds in one group and the non-sister relationship within the thoroughbreds. One of the thoroughbreds clustered within the Arabian breeds suggesting the possibility of their out breeding. Increasing tendency in the variation of the studied genes was proportional to the utility of these genes in energy production within the mitochondria. The present study is therefore a preliminary step in the conservational efforts of the Arabian horse of equestrian..

In this study,green zinc oxide(ZnO)/polypyrrole(Ppy)/cellulose acetate(CA)film has been synthesized via solvent *** film was used as supporting material for glucose oxidase(GOx)to sensitize a glucose *** nanoparticles have been prepared via the green route using olive leaves extract as a ***/Ppy nanocomposite has been synthesized by a simple in-situ chemical oxidative polymerization of pyrrole(Py)monomer using ferric chloride(FeCl3)as an oxidizing *** produced materials and the composite films were characterized using X-ray diffraction analysis(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEM),Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA).Glucose oxidase was successfully immobilized on the surface of the prepared film and then ZnO/Ppy/CA/GOx composite was sputtered with platinum electrode for the current determination at different initial concentrations of *** measurements proved the suitability and the high sensitivity of the constructed biosensor for the detection of glucose levels in different *** performance of the prepared biosensor has been assessed by measuring and comparing glucose concentrations up to 800 *** results affirmed the reliability of the developed biosensor towards real samples which suggests the wide-scale application of the proposed biosensor.

Generalized <i>α</i>-Entropy Based Medical Image Segmentation

In 1953, Rènyi introduced his pioneering work (known as α-entropies) to generalize the traditional notion of entropy. The functionalities of α-entropies share the major properties of Shannon’s entropy. Moreover, these entropies can be easily estimated using a kernel estimate. This makes their use by many researchers in computer vision community greatly appealing. In this paper, an efficient and fast entropic method for noisy cell image segmentation is presented. The method utilizes generalized α-entropy to measure the maximum structural information of image and to locate the optimal threshold desired by segmentation. To speed up the proposed method, computations are carried out on 1D histograms of image. Experimental results show that the proposed method is efficient and much more tolerant to noise than other state-of-the-art segmentation techniques.

Permeability Prediction Using Hydraulic Flow Units: Baltim North Gas Field, Nile Delta, Egypt

168 core samples data of two production wells in the Baltim North field were used to identify the complex discrepancies in reservoir pore geometry which governing the Abu Madi reservoir fluid flow properties. Permeability prediction from well logs is significant goal when the core data is rarely available in most cases because of its expensive cost. The hydraulic flow unit approach was used to classify reservoir rocks according to its pore aperture size in the cored wells. The predicted permeability was calculated from core porosity and core permeability relationship for each flow unit. The difference between Neutron porosity and Density porosity was recognized to distinguish different hydraulic flow units. The higher difference indicates higher quality flow unit and vice versa. For model’s verification the predicted permeability was plotted against the laboratory measured permeability in all studied wells and shows highly matching.

Face Detection and Localization in Color Images: An Efficient Neural Approach

Automatic face detection and localization is a key problem in many computer vision tasks. In this paper, a simple yet effective approach for detecting and locating human faces in color images is proposed. The contribution of this paper is twofold. First, a particular reference to face detection techniques along with a background to neural networks is given. Second, and maybe most importantly, an adaptive cubic-spline neural network is designed to be used to detect and locate human faces in uncontrolled environments. The experimental results conducted on our test set show the effectiveness of the proposed approach and it can compare favorably with other state-of-the-art approaches in the literature.

A Fast Statistical Approach for Human Activity Recognition

An essential part of any activity recognition system claiming be truly real-time is the ability to perform feature extraction in real-time. We present, in this paper, a quite simple and computationally tractable approach for real-time human activity recognition that is based on simple statistical features. These features are simple and relatively small, accordingly they are easy and fast to be calculated, and further form a relatively low-dimensional feature space in which classification can be carried out robustly. On the Weizmann publicly benchmark dataset, promising results (i.e. 97.8%) have been achieved, showing the effectiveness of the proposed approach compared to the-state-of-the-art. Furthermore, the approach is quite fast and thus can provide timing guarantees to real-time applications.

A Statistical Framework for Real-Time Traffic Accident Recognition

Over the past decade, automatic traffic accident recognition has become a prominent objective in the area of machine vision and pattern recognition because of its immense application potential in developing autonomous Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). In this paper, we present a new framework toward a real-time automated recognition of traffic accident based on the Histogram of Flow Gradient (HFG) and statistical logistic regression analysis. First, optical flow is estimated and the HFG is constructed from video shots. Then vehicle patterns are clustered based on the HFG-features. By using logistic regression analysis to fit data to logistic curves, the classifier model is generated. Finally, the trajectory of the vehicle by which the accident was occasioned, is determined and recorded. The experimental results on real video sequences demonstrate the efficiency and the applicability of the framework and show it is of higher robustness and can comfortably provide latency guarantees to real-time surveillance and traffic monitoring applications.
