Bacteriophages or phages are viruses that infect bacteria and are increasingly used to control bacterial *** develop a reaction-diffusion model coupling the interactive dynamic of phages and bacteria with an epidemiological bacteria-borne disease *** the submodel without phage absorption,the basic reproduction number Ro is *** disease-free equilibrium(DFE)is shown to be globally asymptotically stable whenever Ro is less than one,while a unique globally asymptotically endemic equilibrium is proven whenever Ro exceeds *** the presence of phage absorption,the above stated classical condition based on Ro,as the average number of secondary human infections produced by susceptible/lysogen bacteria during their entire lifespan,is no longer suficient to guarantee the global stability of the *** thus derive an additional threshold No,which is the average offspring number of lysogen bacteria produced by one infected human during the phage-bacteria interactions,and prove that the DFE is globally asymptotically stable whenever both Ro and No are under unity,and infections persist uniformly whenever Ro is greater than ***,the discrete counterpart of the continuous partial differential equation model is derived by constructing a nonstandard finite difference scheme which is dynamically *** consistency is shown by constructing suitable discrete Lyapunov functionals thanks to which the global stability results for the continuous model are *** scheme is implemented in MatLab platform and used to assess the impact of spatial distribution of phages,on the dynamic of bacterial infections.

theoretical mean wave resistance and regional division of the energy of single-layer flow over topogra-phy is studied at the near-resonant region in the weakly nonlinear, long wave limit. the theoretical meanwave resistance is determined in terms of the 1st and 2nd conservation laws of the fKdV equation. It isproved by the asymptotic mean method that the theoretical mean wave resistance depends only on the intensityand moving velocity of the topography. the theoretical results of this paper are in good agreement withnumerical calculations. Comparisons between the theoretical and numerical results showed that the theoryof the present paper holds for any small compact topography.

Excitotoxicity refers to toxicity caused by abnormal concentrations of glutamate in the synaptic cleft that may lead to neuronal death. Since its description, the phenomenon of glutamatergic excitotoxicity has been implicated in the physiopathology of a wide range of neurological and psychiatric disorders, from acute brain damage such as traumatic brain injury, ischemia as well as chronic condi- tions like epilepsy, depression and neurodegenerative pathologies such as Huntington＇s, Parkinson＇s and Alzheimer＇s diseases. Exces- sive stimulation of glutamatergic receptors, mainly N-methyl-D-as- partate （NMDA） receptors （NMDAR）, can have numerous adverse effects on the cell viability, including increased nitric oxide release （NO）, activation of proteases, increased production of reactive oxygen （ROS） and nitrogen （RNS） species and massive influx of calcium ions （Ca2＋）, resulting in cell death. thus, the use of strategies that modulate the excitotoxic cell damage represents a perspective for the treatment of diseases such as Parkinson＇s and Alzheimer＇s diseases, ischemia, traumatic brain injury （tBI） and seizures.

Arsenic trioxide(AtO) combined with all trans retinoic acid(AtRA) is the first choice for the treatment of low and medium risk acute promyelocytic leukemia(APL). Clinical studies reported that the combination of AtO and AtRA could achieve a significant curative effect. However, the retinoic acid syndrome, serious drug resistance and the short half-life in vivo which lead to frequent and large dose administration limit the application of AtRA. In addition, the preparations of arsenic are conventional injections and tablets in clinic, which has poor patients’ compliance caused by frequent long-term administration and serious side effects. In order to overcome the above limitations, a phospholipid phase separation gel(PPSG) loaded with AtO and AtRA was developed. AtO + AtRA-PPSG(AAP), as a biodegradable sustained-release delivery system, was the first achievement of co-delivery of hydrophilic AtO and lipophilic AtRA with high drug loading which is the main problem in the application of nano preparation. the prepared PPSG displayed high safety and biocompatibility. the drug in PPSG was released slowly and continuously in vivo and in vitro for up to 10 d, which could reduce the side effects caused by the fluctuation of blood drug concentration and solve the problem of the long treatment cycle and frequent administration. In vivo pharmacokinetics depicted that PPSG could improve the bioavailability, decrease the peak concentration, and prolong the t 1/2 of AtO and AtRA. Particularly, AAP significantly inhibited the tumor volume, extended the survival period of tumor-bearing mice, and promoted the differentiation of APL cells into normal cells. therefore, AtO + AtRA-PPSG not only could co-load hydrophilic AtO and lipophilic AtRA according to the clinical dosage, but also possessed the sustained-release and long-acting treatment effect which was expected to reduce administration time and ameliorate compliance of patients. thus, it had great potential for clinical transforma

Continuous Stirred tank Reactors (CStR) are used ubiquitously in chemical process industry for mixing, reactions and crystallizations. the purpose of this research is to study the effect of solute concentration (sodium chloride) on the stirrer speed in a CStR. the experimental method used in this research is the stop watch and beaker method. the behavior pattern of the fluid in a CStR can be experimentally verified as an alternative to the mathematical model. the tracer experiments were carried out. the effect of different parameters such as stirring speed, concentration at a steady time interval was analyzed. Experimental data obtained at 0.6 M and 160 rpm gave a curve that is in close agreement to that of theoretical or mathematical model. In other words, the results obtained at a concentration of 0.6 M and 160 rpm are in close agreement with that of early researchers. the paper is divided into five main sections: the first section immediately after the abstract is the introductory section that is basically a review of literature;the second section takes care of the materials and methods;the third section is the experimental procedure and this section takes the shut-down procedure and data processing into consideration;the fourth section is the discussion of experimental results and the last section is the conclusion of the paper.

AIM: to determine the pattern of secreted mucin expression in Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)-related, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)-related and idiopathic gastric ulcers. MEtHODS: We randomly selected 92 patients with H. pylori-associated (n = 30), NSAID-associated (n = 18), combined H. pylori and NSAID-associated gastric ulcers (n = 24), and patients with idiopathic gastric ulcers (n = 20). Immunohistochemistry for t-cell CD4/CD8, andfor mucin 5AC (MUC5AC) and mucin 6 (MUC6), was performed on sections of the mucosa from the ulcer margin. Inflammation score was assessed according to the Sydney system. RESULtS: MUC5AC was expressed on the surface epithelium (98.9%) and neck glands (98.9%) with minimal expression in the deep glands (6.5%). MUC6 was strongly expressed in the deep glands (97.8%), variable in the neck glands (19.6%) and absent in the surface epithelium (0%). the pattern of mucin expression in idiopathic ulcer margins was not different from the expression in ulcers associated with H. pylori, NSAIDs, or combined H. pylori and NSAIDs. CD4/CD8 ratio was higher in H. pylori-positive patients (P = 0.009). Idiopathic ulcers are associated with hospitalized patients and have higher bleeding and mortality rates. CONCLUSION: Idiopathic ulcers have a unique clinical profile. Gastric mucin expression in idiopathic gastric ulcers is unchanged compared with H. pylori and/or NSAID-associated ulcers.
