Dielectric ba.rier discha.ge is used a. a.chea. technique for surfa.e trea.m.nt of polyca.bona.e. The discha.ge system.is working in open a.r a. a.m.spheric pressure. The trea.m.nts a.e ca.ried out a. low discha.ge powers (1.5 a.d 2 W) for trea.m.nt tim. (2.5 - 15 m.n). The trea.ed sa.ples show decrea.e in the conta.t a.gle a.d increa.e in the crysta.linity, therm.0} sta.ility a.d surfa.e roughness. The effect of ozone on the increa.e in the oxygen conta.ning functiona. groups is discussed. The trea.m.nt process shows effective lim.ta.ion of the m.gra.ion of bisphenol a.from.the surfa.e of polyca.bona.e due to the cross linking. Zero m.gra.ion of bisphenole a.is recorded a. the sa.ple is trea.ed for 7.5 m.n. The trea.m.nt process is found to be very efficient with very low cost.

Results:?We enrolled eighty-two eligible fra.l elderly pa.ients with a.va.ced pa.crea.ic ca.cer. The pa.ients were ra.dom.y a.signed to receive either sta.da.d gem.ita.ine protocol (40 pa.ients) or low-dose (250 m./m.) gem.ita.ine over 6-hour infusion, given weekly (42 pa.ients). There wa. no significa.t difference between the sta.da.d group a.d low-dose group a. rega.d of the overa.l response ra.e (p = 0.654), the disea.e control ra.e (DCR) (p = 0.845), the m.dia. progression-free surviva. (PFS) (p = 0.908) a.d the overa.l surviva. (OS) (p = 0.331). The low-dose regim.n ha. a.significa.tly lower incidence of a.verse effects gra.es 3 or 4 when com.a.ed to the sta.da.d regim.n: (p = 0.024 for fa.igue, p = 0.027 for hypotension, p = 0.012 for ea.h a.em.a.a. well a. throm.ocytopenia. a.d p = 0.006 for neutropenia.. This study a.m. to consolida.e the surfa.e of gra. ca.t iron with a.um.num.deposition by developing a.m.thod tha. com.ines the prepa.a.ion a.d surfa.e trea.m.nt in a.single opera.ion. The effect of the wa.l thickness of the ca.tings on the m.crostructure of the form.d la.ers wa. studied, a.d two thicknesses, 8 m. a.d 25 m., were studied. The form.0}ion of a.continuous a.d hom.geneous rich a.um.num.la.er on the surfa.e of the ca.t iron wa. observed. The form.d la.er is com.osed of two successive zones identified a. two proeutectoid pha.es Fea.+Fea./Fea.2 a.d single-pha.e Fea., which significa.tly increa.es the surfa.e ha.dness. Furtherm.re, this cha.ge in surfa.e com.osition m.0}es it possible to reduce the m.0}s of the im.ersed sa.ples in a.1 m.hydrochloric a.id solution during different exposure tim.s(1 to 4 da.s). Consequently, a.clea. im.rovem.nt in the corrosion resista.ce of the trea.ed la.ers is highlighted.

a.greenhouse study wa. conducted to explore the effect of va.ious ra.es of pota.sium.sulfa.e (K2SO4) na.opa.ticles on a.fa.fa.(m.dica.o sa.iva.L.) growth a.d physiologica. response under sa.t stress. One sa.t-tolera.t genotype (m.sa.Sirsa. a.d one sa.t-sensitive genotype (Bulldog 505) were selected ba.ed on germ.na.ion under sa.t a.d were pla.ted in pots conta.ning 2 kg of sa.d. The two genotypes were subjected to 0 a.d 6 dS·m.1 sa.t levels using Ca.l2·2H2O: Na.l (2:1) m.xed with Hoa.la.d solution. Three K2SO4 na.opa.ticle trea.m.nts consisting of, 1/4, 1/8, a.d 1/10 of the pota.sium.(K) level in full strength Hoa.la.d solution (235 m.·L-1) were a.plied. a.ding K2SO4 na.opa.ticles a. the 1/8 level resulted in the highest shoot dry weight, rela.ive yield, root length a.d root dry weight in both genotypes. The different ra.es of K2SO4 na.opa.ticles a.fected significa.tly Na.K ra.io a.d the concentra.ions of Ca.cium.(Ca., Phosphorus (P), Copper (Cu), m.0}ga.ese (m.), a.d Zinc (Zn) in pla.t tissue. The a.plica.ion of K2SO4 na.opa.ticles a. the 1/8 ra.e enha.ced the pla.t’s physiologica. response to sa.t stress by reducing electrolyte lea.a.e, increa.ing ca.a.a.e a.d proline content, a.d increa.ing a.tioxida.t enzym.s, a.tivity. These results suggest tha. the a.plica.ion of K na.opa.ticles m.0} ha.e better efficiency tha. conventiona. K fertilizers in providing a.equa.e pla.t nutrition a.d overcom.ng the nega.ive effects of sa.t stress in a.fa.fa.

Objectives: To a.sess the im.a.t of hea.t fa.lure disea.es on stroke severity a.d short term.(1 m.nth m.rta.ity). m.0}eria.s a.d m.thods: Tota.ly, 200 pa.ients a.m.tted to a.n Sha.s university specia.ized hospita., were dia.nosed clinica.ly to ha.e a.ute ischem.c stroke within 3 da.s. History ta.ing a.out previous hea.t disea.e wa. ta.en, a.d full genera. a.d neurologica. exa.ina.ions were done. Full m.ta.olic profile, ca.dia. exa.ina.ion a.d investiga.ions were done. Ca.otid duplex, m.I stroke protocol a.d la.tly clinica. reeva.ua.ion using NIH Stroke Sca.e (NIHSS) a.ter 1 m.nth from.stroke onset were done. Results: Pa.ients with systolic dysfunction (EF ≤ 40%) ha. la.una. infa.ction in 18.75% of ca.es, pa.tia. a.terior circula.ion infa.ction in 62.5% of ca.es, posterior circula.ion infa.ction in 6.25% of ca.es a.d tota. a.terior circula.ion infa.ction in 12.5% of ca.es. Leucoa.a.osis wa. present in 87% of ca.es a.d significa.t intra.ra.ia. vessel stenosis wa. showed in 87.5% who ha. done m.I. Their m.dia. NIHSS score a. a.m.ssion wa. 10.5 with IQR of 5 - 21 a.d a. follow-up it wa. 5 with IQR of 2.5 - 10.5. a. follow-up 22.7% (5 pa.ients) were dea.. Conclusion: Systolic dysfunction (EF a.t fa.lure ha. no significa.t effect on stroke severity a.d 1 m.nth follow up prognosis.
