Assistive devices for disabled people with the help of Brain-Computer Interaction(BCI)technology are becoming vital bio-medical *** with physical disabilities need some assistive devices to perform their daily *** these devices,higher latency factors need to be addressed ***,the main goal of this research is to implement a real-time BCI architecture with minimum latency for command *** proposed architecture is capable to communicate between different modules of the system by adopting an automotive,intelligent data processing and classification ***-sky mind wave device has been used to transfer the data to our implemented server for command ***-Net Convolutional Neural Network(TN-CNN)architecture has been proposed to recognize the brain signals and classify them into six primary mental states for data *** collection and processing are the responsibility of the central integrated server for system load *** of implemented architecture and deep learning model shows excellent *** proposed system integrity level was the minimum data loss and the accurate commands processing *** training and testing results are 99%and 93%for custom model implementation based on *** proposed real-time architecture is capable of intelligent data processing unit with fewer errors,and it will benefit assistive devices working on the local server and cloud server.

Objective:In patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC),cetuximab[a monoclonal antibody targeting epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)]has been shown to improve overall survival when combined with radiotherapy in the locally advanced setting or with chemotherapy in first-line recurrent and/or metastatic(R/M)setting,*** biomarkers of resistance to cetuximab have been identified in metastatic colorectal cancer,no biomarkers of efficacy have been identified in ***,we aimed to identify biomarkers of cetuximab sensitivity/resistance in ***:HNSCC patients treated with cetuximab at the Curie Institute,for whom complete clinicopathological data and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded(FFPE)tumor tissue collected before cetuximab treatment were available,were *** analyses of PTEN and EGFR were performed to assess protein expression ***3 CA and H/N/KRAS mutations were analyzed using high-resolution melting(HRM)and Sanger *** evaluated the predictive value of these alterations in terms of progression-free survival(PFS).Results:Hot spot activating PIK3 CA and KRAS/HRAS mutations were associated with poor PFS among HNSCC patients treated with cetuximab in the first-line R/M setting,but not among HNSCC patients treated with cetuximab in combination with *** of PTEN protein expression had a negative predictive value among HNSCC patients treated with cetuximab and *** EGFR expression did not predict cetuximab sensitivity in our patient ***:Hot spot activating PIK3 CA and RAS mutations predicted cetuximab resistance among HNSCC patients in the firstline R/M setting,whereas loss of PTEN protein expression predicted resistance to cetuximab when combined to radiotherapy.

Objective:The current study investigated the efficacy of total ethanolic extract and various fractions of Gazania rigens to protect against carbon tetrachloride-induced liver and kidney damage in rats and evaluated their antioxidant ***:The antioxidant activity of the total extract and fractions(petroleum ether,ethyl acetate,and aqueous)of Gazania rigens was examined using 2,2’-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging and phosphomolybdate assays,and their total phenolic and flavonoid contents were *** hepatoprotective and nephroprotective potentials were studied at a dose of 300 mg/kg for six consecutive days followed by induction of hepatorenal injury using carbon tetrachloride single dose(1.5 mL/kg,1:1 v/v in olive oil,intraperitoneal)the next ***:The results revealed the potent hepato and nephroprotective effects of ethyl acetate and aqueous fractions by significantly(Pels of alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,total bilirubin,creatinine,urea,triglycerides,cholesterol,and lactate dehydrogenase,along with elevated serum albumin *** improvement of hepatic and renal antioxidant capacities and catalase activities,together with the prominent reduction of hepatic and renal malondialdehyde contents,were confirmed by histopathological ***:The potent hepatoprotective and nephroprotective effects of the total extract and different fractions of Gazania rigens may be attributed to the presence of highly phenolic and flavonoid compounds along with their complementary antioxidant scavenging properties.

Utilization of Milk as an Oral Contrast Agent in CT Scan of the Abdomen

The present study aimed to evaluate using the whole milk as alternative oral contrast for the as-sessment of gastrointestinal CT enterography. Fifty patients undergo (18 female and 32 male) aged from 21 to 79 years (mean 45 years) undergo abdominal CT at the department of diagnostic radiology of King Abdulaziz University Hospital. They receive 1 - 1.5 liter whole milk. Siemens SOMATOM definition CT Scan Machine with 64 slices and dual source was utilized to image all pa-tients in research population group where iodinated oral contrast media was replaced by a whole milk available in the local market. Patients were scanned as per the routine protocol used for CT Abdomen at KAUH-CT Unit: Helical Mode with 0.7 Pitch was performed on all paints in supine po-sition using a 16-detector row scanner (Bright Speed S, General electric-Milwaukee Wisconsin, USA). The following parameters were applied: collimation of 16 × 0.625 (1.25 - 3.75) mm, pitch of 3, Slice thickness: 5 mm, gantry rotation time of 400 mAs, tube voltage of 120 KV and scan time 11.05 second. The images of all cases were reviewed by two qualified radiologists. Conclusion: The present study suggested that whole milk was found to be an effective alternative negative contrast for the assessment of the jejunum, ileum and terminal ileum in CT enterography. It was excellent for gastric imaging and we recommended replacing milk as negative oral contrast since it is available and cost effective. Further research to be conducted with modified milk drinking timing for better large bowel distention.

The brain tumor is an abnormal and hysterical growth of brain tissues,and the leading cause of death affected patients *** in this technol-ogy-based arena,brain tumor images with proper labeling and acquisition still have a problem with the accurate and reliable generation of realistic images of brain tumors that are completely different from the original *** artiﬁcially created medical image data would help improve the learning ability of physicians and other computer-aided systems for the generation of augmented *** over-come the highlighted issue,a Generative Adversarial Network(GAN)deep learn-ing technique in which two neural networks compete to become more accurate in creating artiﬁcially realistic data for MRI *** GAN network contains mainly two parts known as generator and ***,a generator is the convolutional neural network,and a discriminator is the deconvolutional neural *** this research,the publicly accessible Contrast-Enhanced Mag-netic Resonance Imaging(CE-MRI)dataset collected from 2005-to 2020 from different hospitals in China consists of four classes has been *** proposed method is simple and achieved an accuracy of 96%.We compare our technique results with the existing results,indicating that our proposed technique outper-forms the best results associated with the existing methods.

Low back pain (LBP) is primarily managed in general practice and commonly underestimated or misdiagnosed by physicians. This article presents comprehensive review for diagnosis and evaluation of LBP according to current clinical studies guidelines. Our objectives are to define LBP, to establish how to take a detailed history and how to physically examine it in order to enable physicians to make an appropriate differential diagnosis for LBP, and to identify relevant investigations and referrals of patients with LBP. The article first offers a quick description of inflammatory back pain then discusses the importance of screening red flag patients with LBP and the importance of its early detection. Finally, we summarize how to outline a primary plan for managing and treating LBP. The article is prepared in the format of question and answer to make it targeted and accessible.

FACE-HF: Focused Assessment by Chest Sonography and Echocardiography in Acute Heart Failure Patients

Background: Acute heart failure (AHF) is a life-threatening condition that necessitates urgent evaluation and treatment with an urgent need for hospital admission. Among the available imaging modalities, echocardiography is the method of choice due to its feasibility and cost-effectiveness. Lung ultrasonography in emergency department, critical and cardiac care units is becoming popular. The present study aimed to assess the value of the focused echocardiography and lung ultrasound protocol for guiding treatment and its effect on the hospitalization period in AHF patients admitted to the CCU, 6 months re-hospitalization and mortality. Methods: This study included 40 consecutive patients admitted to the Cardiology and Angiology department after disposition from the emergency department at Alexandria main university hospital in Egypt with the diagnosis of (AHF). Patients were divided into 2 groups, 20 patients received the standard treatment while the other group received a modification of medication doses according to daily imaging changes. All patients were followed up for 6 months to assess the 6 months HF rehospitalization and death rates. Results: Group II patients had a significantly shorter duration of hospitalization;6.45 ± 2.01 days compared to 9.10 ± 3.82 days among group I patients (P = 0.02). There was no significant difference between the two groups regarding the 6 months rehospitalization and death rates. Conclusion: The focused echocardiography and lung ultrasound-guided therapy for AHF patients resulted in a shorter duration of hospitalization without increased adverse events.

Background: Drug addiction is a major public health and socioeconomic problem worldwide that annoys the Egyptian government, as it deals with youth within the age of productivity. Aim of the Work: To determine the prevalence of drug abuse among Zagazig University students. Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional study conducted on 750 students in Zagazig University from the beginning of November 2015 to the end of November 2016, after an informed verbal consent. Data were collected through a self-administrated questionnaire and the results of screening urine samples. Results: The prevalence of drug abuse in general was 7.41%. The prevalence of drug abuse in descending order was tetrahydrocannabinol (3.9%) followed by tramadol (1.9%) then benzodiazepines (0.67%), while, opium and barbiturates each one of them (0.47%). 18% of them were Polydrug users and were only males. Tramadol was the commonest drug to use in polydrug users. The prevalence of smoking was 16.81% and strongly related to gender as in males 26.1% were current smokers while in females only 1.4%. The prevalence of abusing alcohols was 6%, and all of them were males. Conclusion: The prevalence of drug abuse in Zagazig university students is considered high and a very serious problem damaging the youth and the community. Recommendation: Future longitudinal studies should be conducted to investigate the risk factors of drug abuse and suggest the use of urine analysis for drugs of abuse for all students before joining the university.
