Background:Hodgkin lymphoma refers to a malignancy of the lymphatic ***-nodal Hodgkin lymphoma(ENHL)is a rare variant consisting of Hodgkin lymphoma occurring outside the lymphatic *** investigating the epidemiology associated with ENHL are ***:618 ENHL cases were analyzed using the National Cancer Institute’s Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results(SEER)database(2000–2020).Demographics including sex,race/ethnicity,rural-urban continuum,age group(categorized as adolescent and young adult(AYA)if between years of 15 and 39,and adult if over the age of 40),and living status(alive/deceased)were examined,with survival status as the main ***:This study included 335 males(54.2%)and 283 females(45.8%).Of this total,47.9%were in the AYA *** terms of ethnicity the distribution was 12.5%non-Hispanic Black,67.5%non-Hispanic White,5.2%non-Hispanic Asian/Pacific Islander,and 14.9%*** analyses evidenced significant differences in survival by age group with 91.6%in AYA vs.72.4%in adults(P<0.001)alive by the end of the study *** analyses identified age as a key predictor of survival,as the AYA patients had a lower odds ratio for death(odds ratio=0.25,P<0.001).In addition,survival outcomes were also impacted by race,with non-Hispanic Blacks showing higher survival *** treatment,27.0%of patients underwent surgery,with 10.2%receiving post-surgery radiation,reducing odds of mortality(odds ratio=0.32,P=0.046).Conclusion:The background research as such,tends to affirm that these two factors–age and race are quite crucial in the prognosis as well as management of *** to adults,AYA patients had significantly lower odds of death,while non-Hispanic Black individuals exhibited reduced survival *** should be noted that 27.0%of patients underwent surgery with 10.2%receiving post-operative radiation which led to decrease in mortality ***,these results reiterate the nec

Twitter Sentiment at the Hospital and Patient Level as a Measure of Pediatric Patient Experience

Although pediatric cancer survival rates have improved, cancer is still the leading cause of death by disease among children in the United States. With nearly 16,000 new diagnoses each year of children having an average age of six years old, there is still much to be done to improve survival rates among children diagnosed with cancer. Additionally, clinical outcomes can be greatly improved by first understanding the patient perspective and, consequently, there is a need to understand the pediatric cancer patient experience. Interest in the analysis of patient-reported outcome (PRO) measures, including those specific to patient experience, has grown in recent years as attempts are made to understand and assess latent (i.e., unobserved) traits such as quality of life. While most traditional PRO measures involve lengthy and costly surveys that are limited in scope, posts on social media platforms are frequently lauded as more authentic, unbiased measures of patient experience. While many previous studies have utilized Twitter as a source for patient experience data that is not easily captured by traditional PROs, very few studies have examined the use of Twitter data to explore and better understand the experience of pediatric cancer patients specifically. Lexicon-based sentiment analysis of Twitter data was used both to examine the pediatric cancer patient experience as well as to compare the attitudes, perceptions, and overall impressions of individuals with St. Jude experiences to those with more general experiences. Results indicated that patients reflected on their care with more relative negativity when speaking of experiences other than St. Jude. While there were some notable differences between the two comparison groups, the sentiment of both was still mostly positive. Negotiating a resource package as a potential new department chair is common practice in academic *** foundations for this negotiation include the historical presence of the department in relation to the broader institution,projections for future growth,accounting for mission/vision,resource needs(space,personnel,finances,etc),faculty and staff development,and external partnerships within and outside the *** similarities in this process across departments,many nuances influence the development of a specific new chair package,such as,department size;desires,perspectives and talents of the incoming chair,the department faculty,the medical school and dean;prevailing agendas and mission imperatives;and the overall priorities of the *** strategy and forethought,a new chair package can promote a successful chair tenure and departmental *** through the Association of Departments of Family Medicine with input from several dozen department chairs and senior leaders,this is intended to serve as a practical guide to new chair packages for chair candidates.

Blepharoptosis (ptosis) is defined as the abnormal drooping of the upper eyelid and is a feature of many conditions. It can be in isolated or syndromic form, bilateral or unilateral and congenital or acquired. Previously we have carried out linkage analysis on a family with dominantly inherited congenital bilateral isolated ptosis and found the condition to be linked to a region of approximately 20 megabases of chromosome Xq24-Xq27.1 with a cumulative LOD score of 5.89. We now describe further analysis using array comparative genomic hybridisation (array CGH), fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH), long range PCR and sequencing. This has enabled us to identify and characterise at the level of DNA sequence an insertional duplication and rearrangement involving chromosomes 1p21.3 and a small quasipalindromic sequence in Xq27.1, disruption of which has been associated with other phenotypes but which is cosegregating with X-linked congenital bilateral isolated ptosis in this family. This work highlights the significance of the small quasipalindromic sequence in genomic rearrangements involving Xq27.1 and the importance of comprehensive molecular and molecular cytogenetic investigations to fully characterise genomic structural complexity.
