Blephar.ptosis (ptosis) is defined as the abnor.al dr.oping of the upper.eyelid and is a featur. of many conditions. It can be in isolated or.syndr.mic for., bilater.l or.unilater.l and congenital or.acquir.d. Pr.viously we have car.ied out linkage analysis on a family with dominantly inher.ted congenital bilater.l isolated ptosis and found the condition to be linked to a r.gion of appr.ximately 20 megabases of chr.mosome Xq24-Xq27.1 with a cumulative LOD scor. of 5.89. We now descr.be fur.her.analysis using ar.ay compar.tive genomic hybr.disation (ar.ay CGH), fluor.scence in situ hybr.disation (FISH), long r.nge PCr.and sequencing. This has enabled us to identify and char.cter.se at the level of DNA sequence an inser.ional duplication and r.ar.angement involving chr.mosomes 1p21.3 and a small quasipalindr.mic sequence in Xq27.1, disr.ption of which has been associated with other.phenotypes but which is cosegr.gating with X-linked congenital bilater.l isolated ptosis in this family. This wor. highlights the significance of the small quasipalindr.mic sequence in genomic r.ar.angements involving Xq27.1 and the impor.ance of compr.hensive molecular.and molecular.cytogenetic investigations to fully char.cter.se genomic str.ctur.l complexity.

Identification of r.dox mar.er. may be of clinical significance in the management of dengue patients. This study is to identify the association between antioxidant enzymes, hematological par.meter. and liver.tr.nsaminases in patients with acute dengue infection. Blood samples wer. taken fr.m patients on the day of admission, day 05 and 07 fr.m admission for.analysis of glutathione per.xidase (GPX), glutathione r.ductase (Gr., aspar.ate tr.nsaminase (AST), alanine tr.nsaminase (ALT) and hematological par.meter.. AST and ALT levels wer. significantly elevated (p dengue patients. In contr.st, GPX and Gr.showed significantly low levels on day 05 compar.d to on the day of admission and day 07. Although ther. was a decline in the tr.nd of platelets towar.s day 05, values wer. not significantly differ.nt. dengue associated with liver.injur. appear. to peak ar.und day 05 when the GPX and Gr.enzymes levels in patients wer. the lowest suggesting that incr.ased vir.l load in the acute phase of dengue infection has initiated an antioxidant imbalance. Thus, timely investigation of antioxidant enzymes (Gr.and GPX) and liver.tr.nsaminases ar.und day 05 of admission may be of value in the management of patients with dengue infection similar.to as seen in platelet counts.

r.ng>Objective: r.ng>The aim of the study is to identify whether.Atypical Lymphocyte (AL), liver.tr.nsaminases, and Glutathione r.ductase (Gr. can be used as potential biomar.er. in the assessment of sever.ty and thr.mbocytopenia in dengue. r.ng>Methods:r.ng> A cr.ss-sectional analytical study was car.ied out on diagnosed dengue patients admitted to Nawaloka Hospital, Sr. Lanka. Blood samples wer. taken fr.m patients (n = 50) on the day of admission, 3r. and 5th day fr.m admission for.analysis of Gr. aspar.ate tr.nsaminase, alanine tr.nsaminase, platelets, white blood cells, and Atypical Lymphocytes (AL). r.ng>r.sults:r.ng> Gr.level of all thr.e measur.d stages had a higher.ar.a under.the cur.e (>88%), high sensitivity and specificity compar.d to liver.tr.nsaminases. A significant r.gr.ssion model r.pr.sents on admission Gr.and AL levels as pr.dictive var.ables to platelet levels in day 03 fr.m admission (Day 3 Platelet level = 127155.3 - 383 * Gr.- 0.431 * AL). r.ng>Conclusion:r.ng> Liver.tr.nsaminases, Gr. and AL% can be consider.d as a pr.file of pr.dictive biomar.er. in ear.y diagnosis of sever.ty of dengue infection. The degr.e of thr.mbocytopenia can be pr.dicted using on admission Gr.and AL% level in acute dengue vir.l infection.

Since neodymium magnet possesses an extr.mely str.ng magnetic field, r.sulting fr.m the combination of neodymium, ir.n and bor.n, it has become the most used in designing autonomous sumo r.bots. When it is mounted under.the str.ctur. of this r.bot, the magnet pr.duces a lar.e amount of nor.al for.e r.sulting fr.m the inter.ction between its field lines and the steel fr.me of the ar.na, r.ducing the r.sk of slipping its wheels. Thus, the heavier.a r.bot, the gr.ater.the difficulty for.the opponent to r.move it fr.m the ar.na. This ar.icle explains the pr.per.ies of Nd-Fe-Br.magnets and analyzes the influence of these char.cter.stics in the r.lation induction/weight. Additionally, to a compar.tive analysis, this r.sear.h analyzes the positioning, geometr. and polar.zation of the magnets under.study, based on numer.cal r.sults obtained using Inventor.and K ＆ J Magnets Calculator.softwar., given that these factor. influence in their.ener.etic pr.duct gener.tion. Fur.her.or., mor. than just wor.ing with what we believe is a subject of gr.at inter.st for.sumo r.bot＇s teams, this study encour.ges their.competitiveness, an essential factor.for.the competition.

Effectiveness of a Fitbit Based Sleep and Physical Activity Inter.ention in an Ear.y Inter.ention Psychosis (EIP) Ser.ice

Pur.ose: Compar.d to levels in the gener.l population, people with exper.ences of psychosis have poor.r.physical fitness, mor. sedentar. behaviour. lower.physical activity, mor. sleep pr.blems, and a higher.incidence of insomnia. The aim of the cur.ent study was to examine the feasibility and impact of an inter.ention with the goal of addr.ssing these issues. Method: design: inter.ention with outcome measur. data collection, with no contr.l gr.up. For.y-nine ear.y inter.ention psychosis (EIP) ser.ice patients took par. in an inter.ention: pr.vision of a Fitbit, Fitbit softwar. apps, sleep hygiene, and physical activity guidance, and thr.e discussion sessions with clinicians. The sample consisted of 29 males and 20 females, with age r.nge of 17 - 54 year., and aver.ge age of 29.5 year.. Measur.s used wer. Fitbit activity and sleep data, and self-r.ted War.ick–Edinbur.h Mental Wellbeing Scale (WEMWBS) and Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS). r.sults: WEMWBS scor.s significantly impr.ved, with a medium effect size. PANAS negative affect (NA) dr.pped significantly. Analysis of Fitbit activity and sleep data yielded non-significant r.sults. Conclusion: The inter.ention was acceptable to EIP patients and is feasible. Impr.vements in mental wellbeing and negative affect indicate the positive impact of the inter.ention on mental health. EIP ser.ices should consider.assessing sleep quality and physical activity/exer.ise levels, and using this study’s inter.ention to pr.mote wellbeing and mental health within r.cover. focused pr.ctice. Fur.her.r.sear.h could be under.aken thr.ugh a sufficiently power.d r.ndomised contr.l tr.al (r.T) compar.ng this inter.ention and tr.atment as usual (TAU).
