Impact of community-based interventions for the prevention and control of malaria on intervention coverage and health outcomes for the prevention and control of malaria

In this paper,we aim to evaluate the effectiveness of community-based interventions(CBIs)for the prevention and management of *** conducted a systematic review and identified 42 studies for ***-five of the included studies evaluated the impact of the community-based distribution of insecticide-treated nets(ITNs),indoor residual spraying(IRS),or impregnated bed sheets;14 studies evaluated intermittent preventive therapy(IPT)delivered in community settings;two studies focused on community-based education for malaria prevention;and one study evaluated environmental management through drain *** analysis suggests that,overall,the community-based delivery of interventions to prevent and control malaria resulted in a significant increase in ITNs ownership(RR:2.16,95%CI:1.86,2.52)and usage(RR:1.77,95%CI:1.48,2.11).However,usage of ITNs was limited to two-thirds of the population who owned ***-based strategies also led to a significant decrease in parasitemia(RR:0.56,95%CI:0.42,0.74),malaria prevalence(RR:0.46,95%CI:0.29,0.73),malaria incidence(RR:0.70,95%CI:0.54,0.90),and anemia prevalence(RR:0.79,95%CI:0.64,0.97).We found a non-significant impact on splenomegaly,birth outcomes(low birth weight,prematurity,stillbirth/miscarriage),anthropometric measures(stunting,wasting,and underweight),and mortality(all-cause and malaria-specific).The subgroup analysis suggested that community-based distribution of ITNs,impregnated bed sheets and IRS,and IPT are effective *** synthesis suggests that high coverage could be achieved at a lower cost with the integration of CBIs with existing antenatal care and immunization ***-based delivery of interventions to prevent and control malaria are effective strategies to improve coverage and access and reduce malaria burden,however,efforts should also be concerted to prevent over diagnosis and drug resistance.

This paper describes the conceptual framework and the methodology used to guide the systematic reviews of community-based interventions(CBIs)for the prevention and control of infectious diseases of poverty(IDoP).We adapted the conceptual framework from the 3ie work on the‘Community-Based Intervention Packages for Preventing Maternal Morbidity and Mortality and Improving Neonatal Outcomes’to aid in the analyzing of the existing CBIs for *** conceptual framework revolves around objectives,inputs,processes,outputs,outcomes,and impacts showing the theoretical linkages between the delivery of the interventions targeting these diseases through various community delivery platforms and the consequent health *** also describe the methodology undertaken to conduct the systematic reviews and the meta-analyses.

GREEN SYNTHESIS OF ANTIBACTERIAL CHITOSAN FILMS LOADED WITH SILVER NANOPARTICLES

An eco-friendly chemical reduction method was successfully used for the preparation of chitosan （CTS） composite films loaded with silver nanoparticles （AgNPs） by self assembly method using poly（ethylene glycol） as both reducing and stabilizing agent. UV-Vis spectra of the prepared chitosan loaded silver nanoparticles （CTSLAg） films reveal that full reduction of silver ions to silver nanoparticles takes place at 90 ℃. The effect of reaction conditions on the silver nanoparticles formation was investigated using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The morphology of the films was tested by scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. The DSC curves showed that the CTSLAg film had a favorable compatibility and heat stability. AgNPs were confirmed by XRD and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The TEM findings revealed that the silver nanoparticles synthesized were spherical in shape with uniform dispersal, and by increasing CTS：PEG ratio larger silver nanoparticles could be obtained. The results of antibacterial study reveal that the prepared nanoeomposite films exhibited potential inhibition.

Enhanced Heap-Based Optimizer Algorithm for Solving Team Formation Problem

Team Formation(TF)is considered one of the most significant problems in computer science and *** is defined as forming the best team of experts in a social network to complete a task with least *** real-world problems,such as task assignment,vehicle routing,nurse scheduling,resource allocation,and airline crew scheduling,are based on the TF *** has been shown to be a Nondeterministic Polynomial time(NP)problem,and high-dimensional problem with several local optima that can be solved using efficient approximation *** paper proposes two improved swarm-based algorithms for solving team formation *** first algorithm,entitled Hybrid Heap-Based Optimizer with Simulated Annealing Algorithm(HBOSA),uses a single crossover operator to improve the performance of a standard heap-based optimizer(HBO)*** also employs the simulated annealing(SA)approach to improve model convergence and avoid local minima *** second algorithm is the Chaotic Heap-based Optimizer Algorithm(CHBO).CHBO aids in the discovery of new solutions in the search space by directing particles to different regions of the search *** HBO’s optimization process,a logistic chaotic map is *** performance of the two proposed algorithms(HBOSA)and(CHBO)is evaluated using thirteen benchmark functions and tested in solving the TF problem with varying number of experts and ***,the proposed algorithms were compared to well-known optimization algorithms such as the Heap-Based Optimizer(HBO),Developed Simulated Annealing(DSA),Particle SwarmOptimization(PSO),GreyWolfOptimization(GWO),and Genetic Algorithm(GA).Finally,the proposed algorithms were applied to a real-world benchmark dataset known as the Internet Movie Database(IMDB).The simulation results revealed that the proposed algorithms outperformed the compared algorithms in terms of efficiency and performance,with fast convergence to the global minimum.

Big data is a vast amount of structured and unstructured data that must be dealt with on a regular *** reduction is the process of converting a huge set of data into data with tiny dimensions so that equal information may be expressed *** tactics are frequently utilized to improve classification or regression challenges while dealing with machine learning *** achieve dimensionality reduction for huge data sets,this paper offers a hybrid particle swarm optimization-rough set PSO-RS and Mayfly algorithm-rough set MA-RS.A novel hybrid strategy based on the Mayfly algorithm(MA)and the rough set(RS)is proposed in *** performance of the novel hybrid algorithm MA-RS is evaluated by solving six different data sets from the *** simulation results and comparison with common reduction methods demonstrate the proposed MARS algorithm’s capacity to handle a wide range of data ***,the rough set approach,as well as the hybrid optimization techniques PSO-RS and MARS,were applied to deal with the massive data ***-hybrid RS’s method beats other classic dimensionality reduction techniques,according to the experimental results and statistical testing studies.

Numerical and experimental analysis for simulating fuel reactor in chemical looping combustor system

The greenhouse problem has a significant effect on our communities such as,health and *** dioxide is one of the main gases that cause global ***,CO2 capture techniques have been the focus of attention these *** chemical looping combustion technique adopted the air reactor and fuel reactor to recycle heat *** study presents a numerical and experimental investigation on a fuel reactor in chemical looping combustor(CLC)*** present numerical model is introduced by the kinetic theory of granular flow and coupled with gas–solid flow with chemical reactions to simulate the combustion of solids in the *** k–εturbulent model was used to model the gas phase and the particle *** developed model simplify the prediction of flow patterns,particle velocities,gas velocities,and composition profiles of gas products and the distribution of heterogeneous reaction rates under the same operating *** predicted and experimental results were compared according to the basis of determination coefficient(R2).In addition the results showed that there is a good agreement between the predicted and experimental *** value of(R2)for CO,CO2 and CH4 was 0.959,0.925 and 0.969 *** shows that the present model is a promising simulation for solid particle combustion and gives the power direction for the design and optimization of the CLC systems.

Adsorptive removal of iron and manganese ions from aqueous solutions with microporous chitosan/polyethylene glycol blend membrane

Microporous chitosan （CS） membranes were directly prepared by extraction of poly（ethylene glycol）（PEG） from CS/PEG blend membrane and were examined for iron and manganese ions removal from aqueous solutions. The different variables affecting the adsorption capacity of the membranes such as contact time, pH of the sorption medium, and initial metal ion concentration in the feed solution were investigated on a batch adsorption basis. The affinity of CS/PEG blend membrane to adsorb Fe（II） ions is higher than that of Mn（II） ions, with adsorption equilibrium achieved after 60 min for Fe（II） and Mn（II） ions. By increasing CS]PEG ratio in the blend membrane the adsorption capacity of metal ions increased. among all parameters, pH has the most significant effect on the adsorption capacity, particularly in the range of 2.9-5.9. The increase in CS/PEG ratio was found to enhance the adsorption capacity of the membranes. The effects of initial concentration of metal ions on the extent of metal ions removal were investigated in detail. The experimental data were better fitted to Freundlich equation than Langmuir. In addition, it was found that the iron and manganese ions adsorbed on the membranes can be effectively desorbed in 0.1 mol/L HCl solution （up to 98% desorption efficiency） and the blend membranes can be reused almost without loss of the adsorption capacity for iron and manganese ions.

In this paper,we aim to systematically analyze the effectiveness of community based interventions(CBI)for the prevention and control of non-helminthic diseases including dengue,trypanosomiasis,chagas,leishmaniasis,buruli ulcer,leprosy and *** systematically reviewed literature published up to May 2013 and included 62 studies in this *** from our review suggest that CBI including insecticide spraying;insecticide treated bednets and curtains;community education and cleanliness cam.a.gns;chemoprophylaxis through mass drug administration;and treatment have the potential to reduce the incidence and burden of non-helminthic *** of data limited the subgroup analysis for integrated and non-integrated delivery strategies however,qualitative synthesis suggest that integrated delivery is more effective when compared to vertical interventions;however,such integration was possible only because of the existing vertical vector control *** delivered interventions have the potential to achieve wider coverage and sustained community *** these diseases will require a multipronged approach including drug administration,health education,vector control and clean water and sanitation *** would require high level governmental commitment along with strong partnerships among major stakeholders.
