Does the Animal Origin Influence the Calcification of Xenograft Tissue Heart Valve Substitutes? Comparison between Bovine and Camel Pericardium in a Subcutaneous Rat Model

Objective: To validate the hypothesis that camel pericardium could be more protected than bovine pericardium against calcification process according to the huge difference in their respective lifestyle and lifetime. Methods: Glutaraldehyde (GA) fixed bovine and camel pericardium samples (BP and CP respectively) were both implanted in 30 New Zealand white rats (2 BP and 2 CP matched specimens in each animal) and explanted after 60 days. Unimplanted GA-fixed samples of both species served as control. Matched implanted samples and unimplanted samples were randomly submitted to elemental analysis by spectroscopy, phospholipid extraction, macroscopic and X-ray examination and histology. Results: At 60 days, calcium and phosphorus content were respectively 9.54% ± 3.1% and 4.79% ± 1.4% of tissue dry weight in BP, and 12.52% ± 2.7% and 6.14% ± 1.3% of tissue dry weight in CP (ns). In X-ray analysis, the calcification score was 1.28 ± 0.45 and 2.14 ± 0.98 in BP and CP samples respectively without significant difference (p alcifications were lower in BP than in CP: 1.37 ± 0.85 vs 2.28 ± 0.83 (ns);collagen fibers were better conserved in BP than in CP: 2.4 ± 0.48 vs 1.87 ± 0.78 (ns), and less disoriented: 25% vs 62% (ns). In unimplanted samples, there was a higher but not significant rate of extracted lipids in CP: 5.7 ± 1.8 vs 9.5 ± 3.8 nanomoles in PS fraction and 11.3 ± 3.7 vs 19 ± 7.7 nanomoles in total fatty acids, in BP and CP samples respectively. all results were in conjunction and demonstrated a higher but not significant rate of mineralization in camel pericardium after implantation, which could be related to a higher but not significant basic rate of phospholipid and fatty acids. Conclusion: This experiment study in a subcutaneous rat model has failed to valid our hypothesis. This work discusses the importance of monitoring and energy management of green energy resources in order to minimize the negative impacts of electricity generation by regular power *** paper introduces a highly efficient,low-cost rooftop photovoltaics(PV)solar panel system which can provide monitoring,controlling and *** proposed system is based on Internet of Things(IoT)and can be used to control different utilities in any premises automatically or set by the user-defined priority list,as compared to the existing IoT-based PV systems which can only perform monitoring and maintenance of the PV panels or only certain parameters,i.e.,temperature,dust,*** is a new step in improving the efficiency of IoT-based PV system where the facility loads are automated by the IoT *** proposed system can also provide a constant feedback about different parameters,i.e.,voltage,dust,sun irradiance and humidity,etc.,via low-cost open-source platforms for telemonitoring and controlling *** simulation results showthat the proposed system provides a high efficiency to energize the utilities and utilize the available energy as compared to the manual control.

BACKGROUND The relationship between diabetes mellitus(DM)and asthma is complex and can impact disease *** To explore the bidirectional influences between the two conditions on clinical outcomes and disease *** We systematically reviewed the literature on the relationship between DM and asthma,focusing on their impacts,mechanisms,and therapeutic *** studies were assessed,which investigated the effect of glycemic control on asthma outcomes,lung function,and *** study highlighted the role of specific diabetes medications in managing *** The results showed that poor glycemic control in diabetes can exacerbate asthma,increase hospitalizations,and reduce lung ***,severe asthma,especially in obese individuals,can complicate diabetes management and make glycemic control more *** diabetes-associated mechanisms,such as inflammation,microangiopathy,and oxidative stress,can exacerbate asthma and decrease lung *** diabetes medications exhibit anti-inflammatory effects that show promise in mitigating asthma *** The complex interrelationship between diabetes and asthma suggests bidirectional influences that affect disease course and *** and microvascular complications associated with diabetes may worsen asthma outcomes,while asthma severity,especially in obese individuals,complicates diabetes ***,the current research has limitations,and more diverse longitudinal studies are required to establish causal relationships and identify effective treatment strategies for individuals with both conditions.

Flotation performance of a de-slimed（-150＋53μm）Jordanian siliceous phosphate was evaluated in a batch laboratory flotation column 100 cm high and 5 cm inside *** collector used during anionic flotation was sodium oleate while an amine acetate（AEROMINE 3100C）was used for cationic *** comparison at different collector dosage,superficial gas velocity,and frother concentration showed that the maximum difference in performance between cationic and anionic flotation was obtained with these flotation parameters：30×10^（-6）（mg/L）frother concentration,250 g/t collector concentration,and 3.4 cm/s superficial gas *** these operating conditions amine （cationic）flotation gave 7%higher flotation recovery,a 6%cleaner concentrate grade,and was 6%more efficient at removing silica.

Can lanthanum doping enhance catalytic performance of silver in direct propylene epoxidation over NaMoAg/SiO_2?

In the attempt to reduce surface free energy of silica to improve interaction of silica with silver, silica was doped by different amounts of low surface energy lanthanum, La_2O_3, through impregnation. The doped and undoped silica were used as supports for preparation of Na/Ag/Mo/La_2O_3-SiO_2 catalysts. Catalytic performances of the catalysts were evaluated in direct epoxidation of propylene(DPO) using molecular oxygen under atmospheric pressure and without adding hydrogen. Adding 5 wt%La to the Na/Ag/Mo/SiO_2 catalyst improves both the catalysts electivity in DPO and its stability over 20h of *** characterization results show that La_2O_3 species interact strongly with silver particles on the silica surface which result in significant improvement in the dispersion profile of silver and marked decrease in the size of silver nanoparticles(AgNPs). The estimated mean diameter of AgNPs is ca. 4.0 nm in Na/Ag/Mo/5 wt%La_2O_3-SiO_2, which is smaller than that(53.9 nm) found in Na/Ag/SiO_2. The presence of subnanometer AgNPs on Ag/La_2O_3-SiO_2 prior addition of MoO_3 and NaCl to the sample can enhance the mutual electronic synergism between Ag, MoO_3 and Na for selective production of propylene oxide.

Forecasting river flow is crucial for optimal planning,management,and sustainability using freshwater *** machine learning(ML)approaches have been enhanced to improve streamflow *** techniques have been viewed as a viable method for enhancing the accuracy of univariate streamflow estimation when compared to standalone *** researchers have also emphasised using hybrid models to improve forecast ***,this paper conducts an updated literature review of applications of hybrid models in estimating streamflow over the last five years,summarising data preprocessing,univariate machine learning modelling strategy,advantages and disadvantages of standalone ML techniques,hybrid models,and performance *** study focuses on two types of hybrid models:parameter optimisation-based hybrid models(OBH)and hybridisation of parameter optimisation-based and preprocessing-based hybridmodels(HOPH).Overall,this research supports the idea thatmeta-heuristic approaches precisely improveML ***’s also one of the first efforts to comprehensively examine the efficiency of various meta-heuristic approaches(classified into four primary classes)hybridised with ML *** study revealed that previous research applied swarm,evolutionary,physics,and hybrid metaheuristics with 77%,61%,12%,and 12%,***,there is still room for improving OBH and HOPH models by examining different data pre-processing techniques and metaheuristic algorithms.

Machine Learning Prediction Models of Optimal Time for Aortic Valve Replacement in Asymptomatic Patients

Currently,the decision of aortic valve replacement surgery time for asymptomatic patients with moderate-to-severe aortic stenosis(AS)is made by healthcare professionals based on the patient’s clinical biometric records.A delay in surgical aortic valve replacement(SAVR)can potentially affect patients’quality of *** using ML algorithms,this study aims to predict the optimal SAVR timing and determine the enhancement in moderate-to-severe AS patient survival following *** study represents a novel approach that has the potential to improve decision-making and,ultimately,improve patient *** analyze data from 176 patients with moderate-to-severe aortic stenosis who had undergone or were indicated for *** divide the data into two groups:those who died within the first year after SAVR and those who survived for more than one year or were still alive at the last *** then use six different ML algorithms,Support Vector Machine(SVM),Classification and Regression Tree(C and R tree),Generalized Linear(GL),Chi-Square Automatic Interaction Detector(CHAID),Artificial Neural Net-work(ANN),and Linear Regression(LR),to generate predictions for the best timing for *** results showed that the SVM algorithm is the best model for predicting the optimal timing for SAVR and for predicting the post-surgery survival *** optimizing the timing of SAVR surgery using the SVM algorithm,we observed a significant improvement in the survival period after *** study demonstrates that ML algorithms generate reliable models for predicting the optimal timing of SAVR in asymptomatic patients with moderate-to-severe AS.
