The estimation of sloshing loading on liquid tanks is of fundamental importance due to the wide and important applications of liquid tanks in various engineering aspects. Analytical solutions for the sloshing loading on circular cylindrical liquid tanks with an interior concentric vertical thin semi-porous barrier under external excitations are presented. And the extensions of the solutions to the elastic vibrations and to the high frequency limit to count for the earthquake response are also included. A clear view on the influence of semi-porous barriers to the sloshing response of oscillating tanks is obtained by the analyses of systematic computational results. The present results may offer guidance to the corresponding design for liquid tanks of various applications and also a basis of comparison for the development of more sophisticated numerical methods for hydrodynamic and hydro-elastic analyses.

The estimation of the hydrodynamic loading on cylindrical oil storage tank during earthquakes is of fundamental importance in the anti-seismic design. Interior semi-porous barriers are considered being effective to reduce the hydrodynamic response of the inner fluid and the loading on the tank wall. A reduced two-dimensional source distribution method and sub-region matching technique are developed for the prediction of three-dimensional hydrodynamic forces on oil storage tanks of arbitrary sections with interior semi-porous barriers of different configurations under earthquake excitations. Excellent agreement is observed between the present results and the corresponding analytical results for a circular cylindrical oil tank with a concentric interior semi-porous barrier, which shows the validity and effectiveness of the present method. A clear view of the influence of semi-porous barriers on the hydrodynamic response of tanks during earthquakes is obtained by the analyses of computational results, which may offer some guidance to the corresponding anti-seismic design for oil storage tanks and similar structures. The method is also extended to include the effects of the elastic vibrations of the tank.

While micronuclei (MN) store extranuclear DNA and cause genome instability, the effects of nuclear envelope (NE) assembly defects associated with MN on genome instability remain largely unknown. Here, we investigated the NE protein distribution in MN using HeLa human cervical cancer cells. Under the standard condition and two pharmacological culture conditions, we found that three types of NE protein assemblies were associated with MN: 1) intact NE assembly, in which both core and non-core NE proteins were evenly present;2) type I assembly, in which only core NE proteins were detectable;and 3) type II assembly in which a region deficient for both core and non-core NE proteins existed and a pattern recognition receptor, cyclic guanosine monophos-phate-adenosine monophosphate synthase, was frequently detected. our findings provide experimental settings and a method of grouping MN-associated NE defects, which may be helpful for researchers who are interested in regulation of genome and nuclear organization relevant to cancer development.

In this paper, a new viewpoint of the division by zero z/0 = 0 in matrices is introduced and the results will show that the division by zero is our elementary and fundamental mathematics. New and practical meanings for many mathematical and physical formulas for the denominator zero cases may be given. The ability of human deciduous tooth dental pulp cells（HDDPCs） to differentiate into odontoblasts that generate mineralized tissue holds immense potential for therapeutic use in the field of tooth regenerative medicine. Realization of this potential depends on efficient and optimized protocols for the genetic manipulation of HDDPCs. In this study, we demonstrate the use of a Piggy Bac（PB）-based gene transfer system as a method for introducing nonviral transposon DNA into HDDPCs and HDDPC-derived inducible pluripotent stem cells. The transfection efficiency of the PB-based system was significantly greater than previously reported for electroporation-based transfection of plasmid DNA. Using the neomycin resistance gene as a selection marker, HDDPCs were stably transfected at a rate nearly 40-fold higher than that achieved using conventional methods. Using this system, it was also possible to introduce two constructs simultaneously into a single cell. The resulting stable transfectants, expressing td Tomato and enhanced green fluorescent protein, exhibited both red and green fluorescence. The established cell line did not lose the acquired phenotype over three months of culture. Based on our results, we concluded that PB is superior to currently available methods for introducing plasmid DNA into HDDPCs. There may be significant challenges in the direct clinical application of this method for human dental tissue engineering due to safety risks and ethical concerns. However, the high level of transfection achieved with PB may have significant advantages in basic scientific research for dental tissue engineering applications, such as functional studies of genes and proteins. Furthermore, it is a useful tool for the isolation of genetically engineered HDDPC-derived stem cells for studies in tooth regenerative medicine.

Advanced intelligent or ＂smart＂ meters are being deployed in Asia. A result of deployment of smart meters, with associated equipment, is the electric power industry faced with new and changing threats, vulnerabilities and re-evaluate traditional approaches to cyber security. Protection against emerging cyber-security threats targeting smart meter infrastructures will increase risk to both the utility and customer if not addressed within initial rollouts. This paper will discuss the issues in SMI （smart meter infrastructures） deployments that pertain to cyber security. It will cover topics such as the threats to operations, infrastructure, network and people and organization and their associated risks. SMI deployments include not only the smart meter, but also the interfaces for home energy management systems as well as communication interfaces back to the utility. Utilities must recognize and anticipate the new threat landscape that can attack and compromise the meter and the associated field network collectors. They must also include threats to the WAN （wide-area-network） backhaul networks, smart meter headends, MDMS （meter data management systems） and their interfaces to CIS （customer information systems） and billing and oMS （outage management systems）. Lessons learned from SMI implementations from North America, Europe and recently, Japan, will be discussed. How white-box and black-box testing techniques are applied to determine the threat impact to the SMI. Finally, organizational change risk will be discussed and how utilities have responded to re-organizing and developing a security governance structure for the SMI and other smart grid applications.
