Efficient electrocatalytic rupture of energy-rich molecules(H_(2)and O_(2))is a green approach for gener-ating clean energy for modern *** this context,porphyry-type molecular electrocatalysts act intelligently toward oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),a fundamental process in fuel cells,due to their redox-rich chemistry,which involves core metal ions and macrocyclic *** concerned scientific community has tried many times to correlate the ORR intermediates with their formation kinetics and simplify the associated multi H+/e-stages during the ORR process,constructing several volcano plots be-tween catalytic Tafel data,turnover frequencies,and overpotentials for many *** the fact that many review articles on molecular electrocatalysts for ORR have been published,understanding the strategic implications and molecular catalyst intelligence towards homogenous ORR has been poorly *** review examined the relationships between volcano plots of current *** parameters and the Sabatier principle in order to explain the intelligence of molecular electrocatalysts and approaches for their creation,as well as the difficulties and potential prospects of molecular *** facts distinguish this review from previously published articles and will pique the scien-tific community’s interest in avoiding trial-and-error procedures for catalyst creation while also allowing for more exact evaluations of the molecular catalyst’s performance.

Impact of interfacial tension on oil-water flow in a narrow gap

Numerous researchers have examined the co-current flow of oil-water and aqueous solutions containing polymers and surfactants in thin gaps for oil *** some have focused on charges and forces at the interfaces of oil-surfactant solutions during *** study of flow structures,interface behavior,and relative permeabilities of oil and aqueous phases of surfactant flow through thin gaps has been less *** the first time,this research aims to comprehensively investigate the flow of oil-water and oil-surfactant solutions through a thin gap(Hele-Shaw cell)with a particular focus on the impact of sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS).The experiments reveal that SDS forms an emulsion near the oil-water interface,capturing oil droplets and enabling their flow along with the SDS *** studies confirm this,showing that when SDS contacts oil,it creates channels through the oil phase,leading to the accumulation and division of oil into small round-shaped droplets,resulting in an oil-in-water *** addition of SDS to the injecting water significantly enhances relative permeabilities,leading to a remarkable 90%increase in oil recovery from the *** research suggests that the optimal SDS concentration range for maximum oil recovery is between 1.5 and 2 wt%,as it achieves the minimum interfacial tension between oil and water.

The role of predictive and prognostic values of inflammatory markers in acute pancreatitis: a narrative review

Pancreatitis is an inflammatory condition affecting the pancreas and is classified into 2 types, acute and chronic, which can manifest in various forms. This review article summarizes the role of predictive and prognostic values of inflammatory markers in the pathogenesis of acute pancreatitis, mainly focused on preclinical and clinical studies. It includes serum amyloid A (SAA), monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), interleukin-6 (IL-6), C-reactive protein (CRP), IL-10, myeloperoxidase, pentraxin 3, and plasminogen activator inhibitor 1. SAA3 plays a crucial role in developing acute pancreatitis by triggering a receptor-interacting protein 3-dependent necroptosis pathway in acinar cells. Targeting SAA3 could be a potential strategy for treating acute pancreatitis. The recruitment of monocytes/macrophages and the activation of the systemic MCP-1 signaling pathway play a role in the progression of pancreatitis, and blocking MCP-1 may have a suppressive effect on the development of pancreatic fibrosis. The ESR can predict severe acute pancreatitis with slightly lower accuracy than CRP. When ESR and CRP levels are combined at 24 hours, they predict severe acute pancreatitis accurately. IL-6 plays a crucial role in activating the Janus kinase/signal transducers and activators of the transcription pathway, exacerbating pancreatitis and contributing to the initiation and progression of pancreatic cancer. Endogenous IL-10 plays a crucial role in controlling the regenerative phase and limiting the severity of fibrosis and glandular atrophy induced by repeated episodes of acute pancreatitis in mice. The predictive and diagnostic roles of these inflammatory factors in pancreatitis were introduced in detail in this review.

Barley chitinase genes expression revamp resistance against whitefly (Bemisia Tabaci) in transgenic cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)

Background Chitinase is an enzyme that hydrolyzes chitin,a major component of the exoskeleton of insects,including plant pests like *** present study aimed to investigate the expression of chemically synthesized barley ch1 and chi2 genes in cotton(Gossypium hirsutum)through Agrobacterium-mediated ***-five putative transgenic cotton plants were obtained,out of which fifteen plants successfully survived and were shifted to the *** gene-specific primers,amplification of 447 bp and 401 bp fragments confirmed the presence of the ch1 and chi2 genes in five transgenic cotton plants of the T0 *** five plants were further evalu-ated for their mRNA expression *** T0 transgenic cotton plants with the highest mRNA expression level and better yield performance in field,were selected to raise their subsequent *** The T1 cotton plants showed the highest mRNA expression levels of 3.5-fold in P10(2)for the ch1 gene and 3.7-fold in P2(1)for the chi2 *** in situ hybridization(FISH)confirmed a single copy number of ch1 and chi2(hemizygous)on chromosome ***,the efficacy of transgenes on whitefly was evaluated through an insect bioassay,where after 96 h of infestation,mortality rates of whitefly were calculated to be 78%–80%in transgenic cotton *** number of eggs on transgenic cotton plants were calculated to be 0.1%–0.12 per plant compared with the non-transgenic plants where egg number was calculated to be 0.90–1.00 per *** Based on these findings,it can be concluded that the chemically synthesized barley chitinase genes(ch1 and chi2)have the potential to be effective against insects with chitin exoskeletons,including *** transgenic cotton plants expressing these genes showed increased resistance to whiteflies,resulting in reduced egg numbers and higher mortality rates.

Background:Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)virus affected more people than SARS-CoV-1 and related *** genetic factors,besides respiratory droplets and direct exposure to the virus,are found highly responsible for transmitting SARS-CoV-2 ***:The objective of this study was to determine the plasma levels of the TMPRSS2 gene and its role in SARS-CoV-2 ***:A total of 100 patients,i.e.50 SARS-CoV-2 positive patients as the case group and 50 SARS-CoV-2 negative samples as the control group,were selected randomly and included in this case-control study to determine the association between TMPRSS2 gene and susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2 infection and severity of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).The TMPRSS2 levels of case and control samples were measured through an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Following the genomic DNA extraction,a set of reverse and forward primers of human TMPRSS2 gene primers were used for the amplification of the TMPRSS2 ***:In the control group,the ratio of men to women was more or less the same while in the case group 62%of the population were *** TMPRSS2 level was found to be 4.70±7.7 ng/ml in case samples while it was 4.73±5.7 ng/ml in control ***:The levels of TMPRSS2 in plasma samples of both controls and cases were found to be the same indicating that the entry of SARS-CoV-2 is not dependent on the plasma levels of this protein.

Learning programming and using programming languages are the essential aspects of computer science *** use programming languages to write their *** computer programs(students or practitioners written)make computers artificially intelligent and perform the tasks needed by the *** these programs,the computer may be visioned as a pointless *** the premise of writing programs is situated with specific programming languages,enormous efforts have been made to develop and create programming ***,each program-ming language is domain-specific and has its nuances,syntax and seman-tics,with specific pros and *** language-specific details,including syntax and semantics,are significant hurdles for novice ***,the instructors of introductory programming courses find these language specificities as the biggest hurdle in students learning,where more focus is on syntax than logic development and actual implementation of the *** the conceptual difficulty of programming languages and novice students’struggles with the language syntax,this paper describes the design and development of a Context-Free Grammar(CFG)of a programming language for the novice,newcomers and students who do not have computer science as their *** to its syntax proximity to daily conversations,this paper hypothesizes that this language will be easy to use and understand by novice *** paper systematically designed the language by identifying themes from various existing programming languages(e.g.,C,Python).Additionally,this paper surveyed computer science experts from industry and academia,where experts self-reported their satisfaction with the newly designed *** results indicate that 93%of the experts reported satisfaction with the NewBee for novice,newcomer and non-Computer Sci-ence(CS)major students.

Innovations on the Internet of Everything(IoE)enabled systems are driving a change in the settings where we interact in smart units,recognized globally as smart city ***,intelligent video-surveillance systems are critical to increasing the security of these smart *** precisely,in today’s world of smart video surveillance,person re-identification(Re-ID)has gained increased consideration by *** researchers have designed deep learningbased algorithms for person Re-ID because they have achieved substantial breakthroughs in computer vision *** this line of research,we designed an adaptive feature refinementbased deep learning architecture to conduct person *** the proposed architecture,the inter-channel and inter-spatial relationship of features between the images of the same individual taken from nonidentical camera viewpoints are focused on learning spatial and channel *** addition,the spatial pyramid pooling layer is inserted to extract the multiscale and fixed-dimension feature vectors irrespective of the size of the feature ***,the model’s effectiveness is validated on the CUHK01 and CUHK02 *** compared with existing approaches,the approach presented in this paper achieves encouraging Rank 1 and 5 scores of 24.6% and 54.8%,respectively.

The Top 100 Twitter Influencers in Infectious Diseases

Healthcare professionals in infectious diseases have been using Twitter to disseminate knowledge and interact with other *** study aimed to identify and characterize the top 100 Twitter influencers in infectious diseases and to analyze the correlation between Twitter and academic *** Right Relevance Application Programming Interface was used to search for the term“infectious diseases,”producing a Twitter topic score for the top 100 infectious disease *** influencers'Hirsch index(h-index)was compared with their Twitter topic score for a possible *** identified that 46%of the infectious disease influencers were physicians.A correlation between the Twitter topic score of the infectious disease influencers and their h-index was not identified(r=0.123,P=0.22).The study also provides a list of the infectious disease influencers for those who have an interest in engaging and interacting with them on Twitter.
