Background: Obesity is a m.jor risk factor for endom.trial carcinom., and we aim.to assess m.rkers of carcinogenesis including PTEN and Ki-67 and horm.ne receptors profile including ER, PR and AR before and after bariatric surgery to find out its effects in reducing endom.trial carcinom. risk in m.rbid obese fem.les. Patients and m.thods: The study included 80 fem.les with m.rbid obesity (Bm. > 40 Kg/m.) who underwent bariatric surgery. All were sam.led by Pipelle biopsy at baseline and 12 m.nths after operation and exam.ned histopathologically and im.unohistochem.cally for Ki-67, PTEN, ER, PR and AR. Results: Sixty two out of 80 (62/80) fem.les showed no pathological abnorm.lities;4 had polyps;7 had sim.le endom.trial hyperplasia;4 had atypical endom.trial hyperplasia and 3 had endom.trial carcinom.. In total, 34 fem.les underwent gastric bypass operation (42.5%) and 46 underwent a sleeve gastrectom. operation (57.5%). There was a statistically significant difference between baseline weight and Bm. before and after surgery (p m.n with sim.le hyperplasia, resolution occurred in 5 within 7 m.nths of surgery. Three of 4 fem.les with atypical hyperplasia (AH) showed resolution after 9 m.nths. m.an Ki-67 score was lower at 12 m.nths (p m.n with baseline endom.trial abnorm.lities, of whom.5/15 regained glandular PTEN expression as their endom.trial abnorm.lities resolved. There was a significant reduction in ER score after surgery (p m.les with m.rbid obesity have a higher risk of harboring endom.trial abnorm.lities even if asym.tom.tic. However, the endom.trial pathology and the high ER and PR expression can be norm.lized within one year without m.

From.which we report a case of plasm. cell leukem.a in a 52-year-old Nigerien subject initially in a com., whose anem.a led to the diagnosis in the Onco-Hem.tology departm.nt of the National Hospital of Niam.y and the evolution was m.rked by clinical and biological rem.ssion after 3 cures of CTD, but died in an infectious picture after 6 cures.

Vanadium.nitride （VN） was deposited by DC-sputtering on a vertically aligned carbon nanotube （CNTs） tem.late for the purpose of nano-structuration. This led to the fabrication of hierarchically com.osite electrodes consisting of porous and nanostructured VN grown on vertically aligned CNTs in a nano-treelike configuration for m.cro-supercapacitor application. The electrodes show excellent perform.nce with an areal capacitance as high as 37.5 m. cm.-2 at a scan rate of 2 m. s^-1 in a 0.5 m.K2504 m.ld electrolyte solution. Furtherm.re, the capacitance decay was only 15% after 20,000 consecutive cycles. m.reover, the capacitance was found to increase with VN deposit thickness. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses of the electrodes before and after cycling suggest that the oxide layers that form.at the VN surface is the responsible for the redox energy storage in this m.terial. Such electrodes can com.ete with other transition m.tal nitride based electrodes for m.cro-supercapacitors.

Does Right Coronary Artery Stenosis Increase m.rbi-m.rtality in Patients Undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass Graft for Left m.in Coronary Artery Disease?

Background: The association of right coronary artery (RCA) stenosis in patients undergoing m.ocardial revascularization for left m.in coronary artery (Lm.A) stenosis affects the prognosis. This study aim.d to com.are im.ediate results of patients with isolated Lm.A stenosis and those with com.ined RCA stenosis. Patients and m.thods: We retrospectively evaluated 107 consecutive patients with Lm.A disease who underwent coronary artery bypass grafts. The patients were divided into two groups: isolated Lm.A stenosis (n = 36) and Lm.A stenosis + RCA stenosis (n = 71). Different variables (preoperative, intra operative and post operative) were com.ared. Results: Patients with Lm.A stenosis + RCA stenosis experienced higher prevalence of diabetes m.llitus (p = 0.024) and sm.ker (p = 0.032). Also left ventricular EF was reduced (p = 0.004). m.ocardial revascularization was m.re com.lete in patients with Lm.A stenosis + RCA stenosis (p = 0.033), but in-hospital m.rtality rate was higher (12.6% vs 5.5%) in isolated LLm.A stenosis, but it did not reach statistical significance (p = 0.32). Except low output syndrom. (LOS) that was frequent in presence of RCA stenosis (p = 0.026), no significant difference was found between groups for other com.lications. Conclusion: The presence of RCA stenosis in patients undergoing CABG for Lm.A disease increases 30 day m.rtality but without significant im.act on overall m.rbidities.

Im.act of Clim.tic Param.ters on the Perform.nce of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) m.dule in Niam.y

The sensitivity of m.no-crystalline solar PV m.dule towards dust accum.lation, am.ient tem.erature, relative hum.dity, and cloud cover is investigated from.m.y to August 2015 for Niam.y’s environm.nt. Two solar m.dules with the sam. characteristics have been used to carry out the im.acts of the dust on the solar PV m.dule. One of the m.dules is being cleaned every m.rning and the second one was used for m.nitoring the effect of dust accum.lation onto the surface of the unclean m.dule for m.y and June. The am.ient tem.erature around the solar PV m.dule was recorded at the sam. tim. with the output voltage and the output current to assess the im.acts of am.ient tem.erature on the PV conversion efficiency. In addition to these field test m.asurem.nts, the solar radiation data m.asured in National Center of Solar Energy (CNES) of Niam.y were also used. Also the relative hum.dity for the study area data obtained NASA power agro-clim.tology website was used. Results show that the dust accum.lation has the greatest im.act on the perform.nce of the PV m.dule followed by tem.erature, relative hum.dity and cloud cover. Exposing the m.dule in 23 days has reduced the energy output by 15.29%. The power output and the conversion efficiency of the PV m.dule have dropped by 2.6% and 0.49% respectively. The relative hum.dity also has reduced the energy output by 4.3 Wh/m./day.

Ecological Wastewater Treatm.nt System.Using a Horizontal Flow Biological Reactor: The Case of Vetiver

Confronted with the challenge of wastewater m.nagem.nt, particularly in the school environm.nt of Senegal, our study set out to achieve m.ltiple objectives. Following field surveys, laboratory analyses of wastewater sam.les were carried out, revealing a significant pollutant load. In the com.unity of Gandiol, near Saint-Louis (Senegal), the school of Ndiebene Gandiol 1 faces significant sanitation challenges. Our study aim.d to address this issue by using a constructed filter com.osed of two filtering bed cells m.asuring 12 × 8.5 m. preceded by a septic tank. We particularly focused on the influence of Vetiver;a plant chosen for its purification potential. Our analyses showed rem.rkable efficiency of the filter. Elim.nation rates reached 95% for 5-Day Biochem.cal Oxygen Dem.nd (BOD5), 91% for Chem.cal Oxygen Dem.nd (COD), and 92% for SS, far exceeding the Senegalese standards set at 50 m./L, 200 m./L, and 40 m./L, respectively. Furtherm.re, the concentration of fecal coliform. was reduced to 176 FCU/100m., well below the Senegalese threshold of 2000 FCU/100m. and close to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) recom.endation of 1000 FCU/100m.. However, despite these prom.sing results, som. param.ters, particularly the concentration of certain pollutants, approached the thresholds defined by European legislation. For exam.le, for Suspended Solids (SS), the post-treatm.nt level of 3 m./L was well below the Senegalese standard but edged close to the European m.nim.m.of 10 m./L. In conclusion, the Vetiver filter dem.nstrated a rem.rkable ability to treat school wastewater, offering high pollutant elim.nation percentages. These results suggest significant opportunities for the reuse of treated water, potentially in areas such as irrigation, though som. adjustm.nts m.y be necessary to m.et the strictest standards such as those of the European union (EU).

Sim.ltaneous Repair of Para-Um.ilical Hernia during Cesarean Section (CS): A Novel Approach

Background: Pregnant wom.n that are com.laining from.paraum.ilical hernia postpone its repair until they get birth. We hypothesized that it will be better to perform.hernia repair of such type of hernia sim.ltaneously during perform.ng cesarean section (CS) which will help to decrease future m.rbidity re-operation, avoid com.lications and further skin incision. In this study we aim.d to com.are the value of perform.ng para-um.ilical hernia repair sim.ltaneously during perform.ng CS through the sam. skin incision with perform.ng para-um.ilical hernia repair sim.ltaneously during perform.ng CS through another infra- or supra-um.ilical skin incision and perform.ng para-um.ilical hernia repair electively later on after healing of a CS skin incision in relation to clinical recovery and patient satisfaction. Patients and m.thods: This is a prospective cohort study, where we included 45 pregnant fem.le patients who will give birth by CS, and we have divided them.into 3 groups: the first group of patients (A) included 15 patients that undergoing paraum.ilical hernia repair by pre-peritoneal m.sh insertion through CS incision, the second group of patients (B) in-cluded 15 patients that undergoing paraum.ilical hernia repair by infra- or supra-um.ilical incision during CS incision and the third group of patients (C) included 15 patients that undergoing paraum.ilical hernia repair by infra- or supra-um.ilical incision later on after healing of the CS wound. We have evaluated advantages of that novel approach e.g. operation tim., severity of pain, peri-partum.and post-operative com.lications, financial cost, duration of hospital stay, clinical recovery, m.sh rejection, and patient satisfaction. Results: In group A there is shorter duration of hospital stay, no new skin incision (p 0.002). Conclusions: Perform.ng para-um.ilical hernia repair by insertion of a pre-peritoneal m.sh sim.ltaneously during perform.ng CS through the sam. skin incision is the best m.thod of m.nagem.nt o

The residual effects of sucrose concentrations (80 or 100 g·L-1) and horm.nal treatm.nts (BAP + Kinetin or Coum.rin) of tuberization m.dium.on in vitro m.crotubers germ.nation of three potato varieties (Solanum.tuberosum.L.) so called Aida, Atlas and Odessa, are described. After 3 weeks of incubation at 28℃ ± 1℃, 70% of Aida m.crotubers variety, previously form.d in the m.2 m.dium.[m./2 + 80 g·L-1 Sucrose], germ.nated. The best germ.nation rate for varieties Atlas (100%) and Odessa (66.66%) was obtained on m.crotubers previously form.d in the m.dium.m.2 [m./2 + 100 g·L-1 Sucrose]. The addition of horm.nes in the tuberization m.dium.allowed optim.zing the m.crotubers germ.nation of the Aida variety unlike the other varieties. Indeed, for the Aida variety, the com.ination m. [Kin 2.5 m.·L-1 + Coum.0.025 m.·L-1 + Sucrose 80 g·L-1] increased the germ.nation rate from.70% up to 93.33%. The best germ.nation rate (90%), noticed with m.crotubers of Atlas variety, initially form.d in m. m.dium.[Kin 1 m.·L-1 + BAP 1 m.·L-1 + Sucrose 100 g·L-1], was lower than that one (100%) obtained on m.dium.without horm.nes. For Odessa variety, the m.xim.m.germ.nation rate (53.33%) of m.crotubers, from.the m.dium.m. [Kin 2.5 m.·L-1 + BAP 1 m.·L-1 + Sucrose 100 g·L-1], was also lower than that one (66.66%) observed in the m.dium.without horm.nes. Aida and Atlas varieties thus offer a better germ.nation rate than Odessa after their cold storage.

The aim.of this work was to determ.ne the characteristic dim.nsion governing transfers during convective drying. Parallelepipedic and cylindrical form of sweet potato was used. For the parallelepipedic form P_L-l-e, the thickness e is set to 1 m.l;">m.ly:"">cm.while the length L and the width l are varying. The results show that the variation of the other dim.nsions other than the thickness e does not influence the transfers in a considerable way. The sam. observation is m.de for the cylindrical sam.les c_H-R by keeping the radius R constant. This present work therefore allows us to conclude that the thickness of the parallelepiped shaped sam.les and the radius of the cylindrical shapes, all being the sm.llest dim.nsions, characterize the transfers.
