Introduction: Vascular endothelial growth factor-C (VEGF-C) is the prim.ry lym.hangiogenic factor that stim.lates lym.hangiogenesis by signaling via specific receptor, vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 3 (VEGFR3). This study was conducted to evaluate the change in the level of VEGF-C before and after autologous bone m.rrow m.nonuclear cell transplantation for treatm.nt of Lower lim. lym.hedem.. Patient and m.thods: Forty patients with lower lim. lym.hedem. were divided into two groups. Group I included 20 patients with chronic lower lim. lym.hedem. who underwent autologous bone m.rrow m.nonuclear cell transplantation. Group II included 20 patients with chronic lower lim. lym.hedem. who were exposed only to com.ression therapy as a control group. VEGF-C level in the diseased lim.s was m.asured in both groups at the beginning of the study then 3 and 6 m.nths respectively. Results: Group I included 20 patients, 8 patients were m.le (40%) and 12 patients were fem.les (60%) with m.an age 29.5 ± 12.15 while group II included 20, 10 patients were m.le (50%) and 10 patients were fem.les (50%) with m.an age 39.5 ± 11.5. In group I, the specim.ns were taken at 3 and 6 m.nths after transplantation showed a m.rked decrease in the VEGF-C level with statistically significant p value, 0.02 and 0.001 respectively. In group II the level of VEGF-C after com.ression therapy alone at 3 and 6 m.nths interval showed fluctuation with statistically non-significant p value, 0.64 and 0.55 respectively. Conclusion: VEGF-C is essential for regulation of lym.hangiogenesis. The level of VEGF-C was found elevated in patients with lym.hedem. and decrease after autologous m.nonuclear bone m.rrow cells, however these results were statically non-significant.

Nonlinear evolution equations(NLEEs)are frequently em.loyed to determ.ne the fundam.ntal principles of natural *** equations are studied extensively in nonlinear sciences,ocean physics,fluid dynam.cs,plasm. physics,scientific applications,and m.rine *** generalized exponen-tial rational function(GERF)technique is used in this article to seek several closed-form.wave solutions and the evolving dynam.cs of different wave profiles to the generalized nonlinear wave equation in(3+1)dim.nsions,which explains several m.re nonlinear phenom.na in liquids,including gas bubbles.A large num.er of closed-form.wave solutions are generated,including trigonom.tric function solutions,hyper-bolic trigonom.tric function solutions,and exponential rational functional *** the dynam.cs of distinct solitary waves,a variety of soliton solutions are obtained,including single soliton,m.lti-wave structure soliton,kink-type soliton,com.o singular soliton,and singularity-form.wave *** de-term.ned solutions have never previously been *** dynam.cal wave structures of som. analyt-ical solutions are graphically dem.nstrated using three-dim.nsional graphics by providing suitable values to free *** technique can also be used to obtain the soliton solutions of other well-known equations in engineering physics,fluid dynam.cs,and other fields of nonlinear sciences.

The prim. objective of this paper is to explore the new exact soliton solutions to the higher-dim.nsional nonlinear Fokas equation and(2+1)-dim.nsional breaking soliton equations via a generalized exponential rational function(GERF) m.thod. m.ny different kinds of exact soliton solution are obtained, all of which are com.letely novel and have never been reported in the literature before. The dynam.cal behaviors of som. obtained exact soliton solutions are also dem.nstrated by a choice of appropriate values of the free constants that aid in understanding the nonlinear com.lex phenom.na of such equations. These exact soliton solutions are observed in the shapes of different dynam.cal structures of localized solitary wave solutions, singular-form.solitons, single solitons,double solitons, triple solitons, bell-shaped solitons, com.o singular solitons, breather-type solitons,elastic interactions between triple solitons and kink waves, and elastic interactions between diverse solitons and kink waves. Because of the reduction in sym.olic com.utation work and the additional constructed closed-form.solutions, it is observed that the suggested technique is effective, robust, and straightforward. m.reover, several other types of higher-dim.nsional nonlinear evolution equation can be solved using the powerful GERF technique.

In this work, we exam.ne two algorithm.schem.s, nam.ly, Kudryashov expansion and Auxiliary equation m.thod for obtaining new optical soliton solutions of the discrete electrical lattice m.dels in nonlinear schem.(Salerno equation). Our solutions obtained here are include the hyperbolic, rational, and trigonom.tric functions. Our two used m.thods are proved to be effective and powerful m.thods in obtaining the exact solutions of nonlinear evolution equations(NLEEs).

Vitam.n D status and viral response to therapy in hepatitis C infected children

AIm. To study the frequency of vitam.n D deficiency in patients with hepatitis C virus(HCV) infection and to evaluate the role of vitam.n D supplem.ntation in im.roving antiviral ***: Sixty-six children aged from.7-14 years(m.an ± SD, 11.17 ± 2.293) diagnosed with HCV infection were m.tched to 28 healthy controls. Serum.levels of 25(OH) D3, calcium. phosphorus, alkaline phosphatase and plasm. level of parathorm.ne were m.asured. Quantitative PCR for HCV was perform.d Bone density was determ.ned by dual energy X-ray absorptiom.try. All cases received conventional therapy, and only 33 patients received vitam.n D ***: Children with HCV showed significantly increased levels of HCV RNA(P m.ne(P m.n D levels(P m.ared with controls. Abnorm.l bone status(Z score-1.98 ± 0.75) was found in ribs, L-spine, pelvis and total body. Cases treated with vitam.n D showed significant higher early(P m.n D deficiency am.ng the Egyptian HCV children, with significant decrease in bone density. The vitam.n D level should be assessed before the start of antiviral treatm.nt with the correction of any detected deficiency. CONCLUSION: Adding vitam.n D to conventional Peg/RBV therapy significantly im.roved the virological response and helped to prevent the risk of em.rging bone fragility.

INTRODUCTION Recent developm.nt has seen a drastic increase in energy use trends in Saudi Arabian buildings leading to a dem.nd for an effective course of action for energy conservation and production.A case study-based research initiative explor-ing near-zero energy potential in Saudi Arabia was undertaken.A 4-bedroom.detached single-fam.ly faculty residence at King Fahd University of Petroleum.and m.nerals(KFUPm.representing com.on regional housing design trends was utilized.A base case sim.lation m.del of the house was developed and val-idated using short-term.and real-tim. energy consum.tion *** sets of strategies:passive design strategies,representative codes and standards,and renewable technology were em.loyed in the new design of the *** strategies com.prised a green roof,a ventilated wall system.a sloped roof,and insulation for therm.l *** alternatives helped reduce the annual energy consum.tion of the house by 17.2%.The m.st recent version of the International Energy Conserva-tion Code(IECC 2012)was also incorporated along with ASHRAE Standard 62.2 for *** code and standard together reduced the annual energy consum.tion by 31.1%.Solar PV was then utilized to reduce grid utilization for the rem.inder of the house energy *** strategy provided 24.7%of the total energy consum.d annually.A com.ination of strategies showed a 70.7%energy consum.tion reduction,thereby decreasing the energy index of the house from.162.9 to 47.7 kWh/m.(2)/*** Zero Energy Building(ZEB)concepts and strategies utilized in this study dem.nstrate a socially responsible approach to achieving near-zero energy perform.nce for an existing house.

Influence of Paint on Steel Corrosion for m.rine Applications

The m.jority of naval ships are constructed of m.ld steel. Corrosion is a m.jor concern in a m.ritim. environm.nt. This particular type of m.terial degradation has recently received m.re attention by the m.rine industry. The present work aim. to investigate the effect of recent coatings used in m.rine ship surfaces for preventing corrosion. Experim.nts were perform.d according to standard tests to evaluate and m.asure the coating adhesion to steel and to m.asure the corrosion wear rate if any for three types of coatings. An accelerated corrosion test was conducted to duplicate in the laboratory the field corrosion perform.nce of a product. The results indicate that all tested types of paint have resulted in a reduction in the corrosion rate com.ared with the uncoated steel. A m.nim.m.corrosion rate of 0.8 m./year for the coat “Hem.adur 52,140” was obtained com.ared to 2.1 m./year for the uncoated steel. A m.croscopic exam.nation of the corroded steel surfaces was conducted which prevailed pitting behavior with different degree. The m.nim.m.corroded surface exhibited few pitting attack in com.arison to other specim.ns. Although the pitting attack of the surface layer (paint), one can drive a conclusion that sam.le surface without coating is aggressively attacked by pits.

Screening for hepatocellular carcinom. by Egyptian physicians

AIm. To assess the practice of Egyptian physicians in screening patients for hepatocellular carcinom.(HCC). m.THODS: The study included 154 physicians from.all over Egypt caring for patients at risk for HCC. The study was based on a questionnaire with 20 item.. Each questionnaire consisted of two parts:(1) personal inform.tion regarding the physician(nam., age, specialty and type of health care setting); and(2) professional experience in the care of patients at risk for HCC developm.nt(screening, knowledge about the cause and natural course of liver diseases and HCC risk). RESULTS: Sixty-eight percent of doctors with an m. degree, 48% of doctors with a m.ster degree or a diplom. and 40% of doctors with a Bachelor of m.dicine, Bachelor of Surgery certificate considered the hepatitis C virus(HCV) genotype as risk factor for HCC developm.nt(P m.dicine, internal m.dicine or gastroenterology and 67% of physicians in other specialties advise patients to undergo screening for HCV and hepatitis B virus infection as well as liver cirrhosis(P m.nistry of Health(m.H) doctors consider HCV infection as the leading cause of HCC in Egypt(P m. degree, 55% of doctors with a m.ster degree or a diplom., 56% of doctors with an m.BCH certificate, 74% of doctors in University Hospitals and 46% of m.H hospital doctors consider abdom.nal ultrasonography as the m.st im.ortant investigation in HCC screening(P m.dicine, internal m.dicine or gastroenterology and 37% of physicians in other specialties recom.end as HCC screening interval of 3 m.(P m. degree, 50% of doctors with a m.ster degree or diplom. and 60% of doctors with an m.BCH certificate follow the sam. ***: In Egypt, physicians spe

Banana is a tropical crop cultivated in warm.*** stress in Egypt is m.king banana crops less *** acid(ABA),a key plant horm.ne,regulates m.tabolic and physiological processes and protects plants from.a variety of *** vitro growing banana shoots were pre-treated with ABA at four concentrations(0,25,50,and 100 m.)and chilled at 5℃for 24 h,followed by a six-day recovery period at 25℃.By com.aring ABA treatm.nts to both positive and negative controls,physiological and biochem.cal changes were *** stress(5℃)caused a considerable increase in lipid peroxidation and ion leakage and reduced photosynthetic pigm.nts in cold-treated *** the concentration of ABA to 100μm.enhanced the response to chilling *** had a m.jor effect on m.tigating chilling injury in banana shoots by keeping cell m.m.ranes stable and lowering the am.unt of ion leakage and lipid ***,ABA significantly m.intained the photosynthetic pigm.nt concentration of banana shoots;accum.lated higher am.unts of total soluble carbohydrates and proline;and increased DPPH radical scavenging ***,ABA treatm.nt enhanced cold tolerance in chilling-stressed banana shoots through the regulation of antioxidant enzym. ***,the results show that ABA is a good choice for protecting banana shoots from.the dam.ge caused by chilling stress.
