In this study,we attempted to characterise the effects of date-palm fibre(DPF)and a date-palm fibre/sheep wool hybrid in polyester to enhance high-performance and low-cost composite materials that can be used in insulation building systems,automotive parts,and home *** DPF was treated using 5%NaOH solution;and the sheep wool was cleaned with 50℃hot water and *** composite specimens were prepared with different fibre contents(0%,10%,20%,30%(w))using a compression moulding *** effect of fibre reinforcement was analysed in terms of the mechanical properties(tensile,flexural,impact,and hardness)and composite ***,scanning electron microscopy(SEM)was performed on the fibres before and after treatment,and the fractured surfaces of all composite specimens were examined after tensile *** results showed that the 20%DPF/sheep wool hybrid reinforced polyester produced the best *** ultimate tensile strength and modulus were 27 MPa and 3.69GPa,*** ultimate flexural strength and flexural modulus were 35.4 and 2507 MPa,*** impact strength was 39.5 kJ/m^(2)and the hardness was 64 *** density decreased to the lowest value of 1.02 g/cm^(3)with the 30%DPF/sheep wool *** SEM showed good adhesion and interfacial bonding between DPF/sheep wool hybrid fibres and the polyester matrix,particularly at 20%fibre content.

In this paper,Support Vector Machine(SVM)and K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN)based methods are to be applied on fault diagnosis in a robot manipulator.A comparative study between the two classiﬁers in terms of successfully detecting and isolating the seven classes of sensor faults is considered in this *** both classiﬁers,the torque,the position and the speed of the manipulator have been employed as the input ***,it is to mention that a large database is needed and used for the training and testing *** SVM method used in this paper is based on the Gaussian kernel with the parametersγand the penalty margin parameter“C”,which were adjusted via the PSO algorithm to achieve a maximum accuracy *** were carried out on the model of a Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm(SCARA)robot manipulator,and the results showed that the Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)increased the per-formance of the SVM algorithm with the 96.95%accuracy while the KNN algo-rithm achieved a correlation up to 94.62%.These results showed that the SVM algorithm with PSO was more precise than the KNN algorithm when was used in fault diagnosis on a robot manipulator.

Magnetic assembly at the nanoscale level brings potential possibilities in obtaining novel delicate nanostructures with unique physical, photonic or electronic properties. Interface surfactant micelle-directed assembly strategy holds great promising in fabricating ordered mesoporous materials with multifunctionality and pore parameter tunability. Combing these, herein, one-dimensional (1D) nanochains with well-aligned silica-coated magnetic particles as core and mesoporous aluminosilicate as shell are rational fabricated for the first time through magnetic field induced interface coassembly in biliquid system followed by the incorporation of Al species via in-situ chemical modification and transformation strategy. The obtained magnetic mesoporous aluminosilicate nanochains (MMAS-NCs) possess well-defined core-shell-shell sandwich nanostructure, tunable perpendicular mesopore channels in the shell (2.7–7.6 nm), high surface area (359 m^(2)·g^(-1)), abundant acidic sites, and superparamagnetism with a magnetization saturation of 13.8 emu·g^(-1). Thanks to the unique properties, the MMAS-NCs exhibit excellent performance in acting as magnetically recyclable superior solid acid catalysts and nanostirrers with high conversion of over 96.8%, selectivity of 95.0% in the deprotection reaction of benzaldehyde dimethylacetal to benzaldehyde. Moreover, MMAS-NCs exhibit an interesting pore size effect on the catalytic activity, namely, in the pore size range of 2–8 nm, the catalysts with larger pores show significantly enhanced catalytic activity due to the balanced mass transport and density of surface active sites.

Multifaceted role of one-carbon metabolism on immunometabolic control and growth during pregnancy, lactation and the neonatal period in dairy cattle

Dairy cattle undergo dramatic metabolic, endocrine, physiologic and immune changes during the peripartal period largely due to combined increases in energy requirements for fetal growth and development, milk production, and decreased dry matter intake. The negative nutrient balance that develops results in body fat mobilization,subsequently leading to triacylglycerol(TAG) accumulation in the liver along with reductions in liver function,immune dysfunction and a state of inflammation and oxidative stress. Mobilization of muscle and gluconeogenesis are also enhanced, while intake of vitamins and minerals is decreased, contributing to metabolic and immune dysfunction and oxidative stress. Enhancing post-ruminal supply of methyl donors is one approach that may improve immunometabolism and production synergistically in peripartal cows. At the cellular level, methyl donors(e.g. methionine, choline, betaine and folic acid) interact through one-carbon metabolism to modulate metabolism,immune responses and epigenetic events. By modulating those pathways, methyl donors may help increase the export of very low-density lipoproteins to reduce liver TAG and contribute to antioxidant synthesis to alleviate oxidative stress. Thus, altering one-carbon metabolism through methyl donor supplementation is a viable option to modulate immunometabolism during the peripartal period. This review explores available data on the regulation of one-carbon metabolism pathways in dairy cows in the context of enzyme regulation, cellular sensors and signaling mechanisms that might respond to increased dietary supply of specific methyl donors. Effects of methyl donors beyond the one-carbon metabolism pathways, including production performance, immune cell function,mechanistic target or rapamycin signaling, and fatty acid oxidation will also be highlighted. Relations between the Elemental Composition Hens＇ Eggs and Feeds

Hens＇ eggs and corresponding feeds were sampled at commercial farms. The eggs were separated into egg yolk and egg white and freeze dried. After pressure digestion, total element contents of Ca, P, Mg, S, Na, Fe, Mn, Zn, Sr, Cu and Ba were detected by ICP-OES in the eggs, whereas, Pb, Ni, Sb, Sn, AI, Cd, Cr, Mo and V were all or largely below the detection limits. In addition, iodine was done by ICP-MS and Se after ashing with Mg-nitrate by hydride-generation-AAS. There were significant accumulations of P, S, Se and I in the egg yolk versus feed levels, as well as S and Na in the egg white. Just a few correlations between concentrations in feed and egg white resp. egg yolk were detected, indicating regulation mechanisms by homeostasis. Strontium showed the strongest trends between feeds and egg white and egg yolk, whereas, there was none for calcium. Among the main elements in the feeds, sulfur had the strongest effects on the egg compositions, e.g., on iodine and iron in the yolk and on sodium in the white, some of them might be non-linear.
