A Hybrid Regularization-Based multi-Frame Super-Resolution Using Bayesian Framework

The prime purpose for the image reconstruction of a multi-frame super-resolution is to reconstruct a higher-resolution image through incorporating the knowledge obtained from a series of relevant low-resolution images,which is useful in ***,super-resolution image reconstruction methods are usually damaged by undesirable restorative artifacts,which include blurring distortion,noises,and stair-casing ***,it is always challenging to achieve balancing between image smoothness and preservation of the edges inside the *** this research work,we seek to increase the effectiveness of multi-frame super-resolution image reconstruction by increasing the visual information and improving the automated machine perception,which improves human analysis and interpretation ***,we propose a new approach to the image reconstruction of multi-frame super-resolution,so that it is created through the use of the regularization *** the proposed approach,the bilateral edge preserving and bilateral total variation regularizations are employed to approximate a high-resolution image generated from a sequence of corresponding images with low-resolution to protect significant features of an image,including sharp image edges and texture details while preventing *** experimental results of the synthesized image demonstrate that the new proposed approach has improved efficacy both visually and numerically more than other approaches.

Publishing big data and making it accessible to researchers is important for knowledge building as it helps in applying highly efficient methods to plan,conduct,and assess scientific ***,publishing and processing big data poses a privacy concern related to protecting individuals’sensitive information while maintaining the usability of the published *** anonymization methods,such as slicing and merging,have been designed as solutions to the privacy concerns for publishing big ***,the major drawback of merging and slicing is the random permutation procedure,which does not always guarantee complete protection against attribute or membership ***,merging procedures may generatemany fake tuples,leading to a loss of data utility and subsequent erroneous knowledge *** study therefore proposes a slicingbased enhanced method for privacy-preserving big data publishing while maintaining the data *** particular,the proposed method distributes the data into horizontal and vertical *** lower and upper protection levels are then used to identify the unique and identical attributes’*** unique and identical attributes are swapped to ensure the published big data is protected from disclosure *** outcome of the experiments demonstrates that the proposed method could maintain data utility and provide stronger privacy preservation.

The Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA)is a swarm intelligence metaheuristic inspired by the bubble-net hunting tactic of humpback *** spite of its popularity due to simplicity,ease of implementation,and a limited number of parameters,WOA’s search strategy can adversely affect the convergence and equilibrium between exploration and exploitation in complex *** address this limitation,we propose a new algorithm called multi-trial Vector-based Whale Optimization Algorithm(mTV-WOA)that incorporates a Balancing Strategy-based Trial-vector Producer(BS_TVP),a Local Strategy-based Trial-vector Producer(LS_TVP),and a Global Strategy-based Trial-vector Producer(GS_TVP)to address real-world optimization problems of varied degrees of ***-WOA has the potential to enhance exploitation and exploration,reduce the probability of being stranded in local optima,and preserve the equilibrium between exploration and *** the purpose of evaluating the proposed algorithm's performance,it is compared to eight metaheuristic algorithms utilizing CEC 2018 test ***,mTV-WOA is compared with well-stablished,recent,and WOA variant *** experimental results demonstrate that mTV-WOA surpasses comparative algorithms in terms of the accuracy of the solutions and convergence ***,we conducted the Friedman test to assess the gained results statistically and observed that mTV-WOA significantly outperforms comparative ***,we solved five engineering design problems to demonstrate the practicality of *** results indicate that the proposed mTV-WOA can efficiently address the complexities of engineering challenges and provide superior solutions that are superior to those of other algorithms.

Heat induced in a finite Silver Selenide slab by an external pulsed laser source is studied in dimensionless scale according to hyperbolic heat conduction model (HHCE) using Laplace integral transform technique. The temperature profile, the critical time required to initiate phase transition and that to initiate damage at the front surface are obtained for different pulses and are illustrated graphically.

Impact of the socioeconomic status on the severity and outcome of community-acquired pneumonia among Egyptian children: a cohort study

Background:Community-acquired pneumonia(CAP)is one of the five leading causes of death among children in developing countries,accounting for approxima.ely three million deaths per *** of the modifiable risk factors of CAP may help to reduce the burden of this *** this study,the impact of the socioeconomic status(SES)on the severity and outcome of CAP among Egyptian children was ***:This was a prospective longitudinal cohort study which included 1,470 children diagnosed with CAP,aged two to 15 years(median age 5.4 years).The diagnosis of CAP was based on clinical and radiological findings.A structured questionnaire and the patients’medical records were used for the data *** subjects were divided into two groups:mild and severe *** and demographic variables were compared,and a multivariate logistic regression analysis was ***:The multivariate analysis showed that a low maternal education level(OR:3.8;95%CI:2.12-6.70;P=.0001),unavailability of adequate medical care(OR:3.1;95%CI:1.99-4.88;P=.0001),a low family income(OR:2.2;95%CI:0.99-4.78;P=.047),and parents’smoking habits(OR:2.0;95%CI:1.15-3.55;P=.014)were significant independent predictive risk factors for severe CAP among Egyptian ***:Public health measures against these socio-demographic risk factors should be identified as priorities in order to help reduce the disease burden of deaths from severe CAP among Egyptian children.

Chewing gum for declining ileus and accelerating gastrointestinal recovery after appendectomy

Objective: Ileus usually occurs after abdominal surgery and is allied with complication and delays recovery. It is hypothesized that chewing gum reduces postoperative ileus by improving early recovery of gastrointestinal function. This study aimed to explore whether chewing gum after appendectomy accelerates the recovery of gastrointestinal ***: Randomized control trial was used in this study. This study was conducted in the General Surgery Department at Zagazig University Hospital. A total of 240 patients undergoing appendectomy were involved in this study; they were divided into the chewing sugar-free gum group(120) and the control group(120). Two tools were utilized in this study. Tool I: Structured Interviewing Schedule: part 1: assessment of personnel characteristics. Part 2: assessment of anthropometric measurements of the studied subjects as well as pre-and intraoperative indicators of them. Tool II: postoperative assessment sheet: assessed postoperative parameters of the intestinal function, occurrence of postoperative ileus, and related symptoms were assessed among studied ***: There were highly significant statistical differences in the time of resumption of gastrointestinal functions and postoperative ileus symptoms between the two groups(Pm group compared to the control ***: The use of chewing gum is a useful and cheap method that can be employed to cut down the time to recover and accelerate normalization of gastrointestinal function. Chewing sugar-free gum after abdominal surgery is recommended to be added to the protocol of nursing care in the surgery units as well as its involvement in the nursing curriculum.

Update on Healthcare-Associated Blood Stream Infections in Febrile Neutropenic Pediatric Oncology Patients

Background: Continuous surveillance of pattern of blood stream infection is necessary in febrile neutropenia especially with the recent escalating trend in the management of pediatric cancer patients towards intensified regimens and with the increase in infections caused by resistant organisms limiting the choice of antibiotics. Aim: monitoring if a change has occurred in pattern of blood stream infections (BSI) in febrile neutropenic (FN) pediatric cancer patients. methods: Surveillance of FN episodes with positive BSI was prospectively monitored and compared to a previous surveillance in the same pediatric oncology unit. Results: A total of 232 BSI positive episodes were documented in 192 patients during a 6 months period. The results of recent surveillance analysis showed an increase in intensified regimens of chemotherapy, antimicrobial resistance, and prolonged duration of episodes when compared to previous surveillance, with a p value of ely. There was an apparent decrease in the crude mortality but this was not statistically significant, 6% in 2011 and 10% in 2006. Conclusion: The pattern of BSI at our institution is still inclining towards gram positive organisms but is showing a shift towards more antibiotic resistance and prolonged episodes.

Prospective Study of Holter monitoring in Pediatric Patients at Sohag University Hospital

Background: To estimate the various indications, values and misuses of Holter monitoring in the diagnosis and management of pediatric patients. Methods: The study was a prospective observational study, carried out at Pediatric Arrhythmia Clinic and at PICU of Sohag University Hospital over two years from 09/2017 to 09/2019. It encountered 80 pediatric patients (34 females), their age ranged from 29 days to 15 years with mean age of 6.18 years. All patients were subjected to echocardiography, 12 leads ECG and holter monitoring for 24 hours. minimum, mean, maximum heart rate, rhythms and corrected QT were evaluated. Indications of Holter examination, its abnormalities were analyzed, also its positive diagnosis and management were defined. Results: Palpitations and syncopy were the main indications for holter examination 22 (27.50%) patients for each, abnormal examination in 17 (21.25%), chest pain in 13 patients (16.25%) and cardiomyopathy (7.5%) (one with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and five with Dilated Cardiomyopathy). There were 50 (62.50%) patients had abnormalities in Holter recordings. The highest contribution to diagnosis was in cardiomyopathy (83.3%) where the most common abnormalities were ventricular tachycardia (50%) and ventricular premature beats in (33.3%). An abnormal ECG was significantly associated with a higher diagnostic yield (p = 0.0001). Conclusion: The most important indications for Holter monitoring include palpitations, syncope, abnormal physical exam findings, chest pain, and cardiomyopathy. Plasma Asymmetric Dimethylarginine Levels in Neonates with Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia Associated with Pulmonary Hypertension

Background: Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) continues to be an important problem in neonates especially premature infants despite improved facilities of care, monitoring and treatment. Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a major complicating factor and key cause of mortality in this population. Altered vascular and alveolar growth particularly in canalicular and early saccular stages of lung development following mechanical ventilation and oxygen therapy result in arrest of the lung development leading to BPD with PH. Early recognition of PH in infants with these risk factors is important for optimal management. We tested the hypothesis that asymmetric dimethylarginine, would be greater in infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia associated pulmonary hypertension than in infants with BPD alone. The Aim: The aim of the current study was to measure the Asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADmA) levels, arginine levels & the plasma arginine-to-ADmA ratio in newborn infants with broncho-pulmonary dysplasia, to evaluate echocardiographic parameters among neonates with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, to correlate between plasma ADmA & arginine-to-ADmA ratio and echocardiographic (ECHO) parameters in those patients and to compare full term & preterm neonates with bronchopulmonary dysplasia as regard to plasma ADmA level. methods: A case-control study was carried out of ninety (90) newborns selected from those admitted to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at maternity & Children Hospital and Alzhraa University hospital during the period from October 2015 to march 2018. Neonates were divided into 2 groups: Patient with BPD with PH (cases group): It included 45 neonates with BPD & PH, 35 preterm neonates and 10 full term neonates.
