Forest Road Detection Using LiDAR Data

We developed a three-step classification approach for forest road extraction utilizing LiDAR data. The first step employed the IDW method to interpolate LiDAR point data （first and last pulses） to achieve DSm, DTm and DNTm layers （at 1 m resolution）. For this interpolation RmSE was 0.19 m. In the second step, the Support Vector machine （SVm） was employed to classify the LiDAR data into two classes, road and non-road. For this classification, SVm indicated the merged distance layer with intensity data and yielded better identification of the road position. Assessments of the obtained results showed 63% correctness, 75% completeness and 52% quality of classification. In the next step, road edges were defined in the LiDAR-extracted layers, enabling accu- rate digitizing of the centerline location. more than 95% of the Li- DAR-derived road was digitized within 1.3 m to the field surveyed nor- rnal. The proposed approach can provide thorough and accurate road inventory data to support forest management.

Plant-based antimicrobial agents are readily available, cost-effective, and exhibit low toxicity, making them promising alternatives in combatting microbial infections. Among these plants, garlic (Allium sativum) stands out for its traditional medicinal use in effectively combating various microorganisms. In the poultry industry, preventing avian virus and bacterial infections is paramount for chicken husbandry. However, using conventional drugs poses potential risks to human health. Garlic, a widely used Asian plant in traditional medicine for various pathologies, has shown potential as an herbal prophylactic remedy against viral and bacterial infections. Recently, researchers explored garlic and its derivatives as a scientific strategy in veterinary practices for diverse purposes, such as improving poultry production characteristics and acting as antibiotic growth promoters. This comprehensive review delves into garlic and its derivatives as preventive and corrective treatments for viral diseases in laying hens and broilers. The paper highlights their potential effectiveness and safety as a natural means to enhance poultry health and welfare while mitigating the risks associated with conventional drug usage in the food industry.

Effect of NiO-NiCr2O4 nano-oxides on the microstructural,mechanical and corrosion properties of Ni-coated carbon steel

Pure Ni and its composites with different percentages of Ni-Cr nano-oxides were coated over carbon steel to assess the coating features and mechanical and corrosion behavior.A nano-oxide composite of Ni-Cr was first synthesized through chemical coprecipitation with uniform distribution *** was employed to coat pure Ni and Ni-(Ni-Cr)oxides(10,20,30,40,and 50 g/L)on the steel *** electron microscope and field emission scanning electron microscope were adopted to examine the microstructure of powders and coatings,and X-ray diffraction analysis was employed to study the chemical *** microhardness,thickness,and wear resistance of the coatings were assessed,polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)tests were conducted to analyze the corrosion behavior,and the corresponding equivalent circuit was *** showed flawless and crack-free coatings for all samples and uniform distribution of nano-oxides in the Ni matrix for the samples of 10-30 g/*** oxides were detected at high *** microhardness(HV 661),thickness(116μm),and wear resistance of coatings were found at 30 g/L.A three-loop equivalent circuit corresponded satisfactorily to all EIS *** corrosion resistance increased with the nano-oxide concentration of up to 30 g/L but decreased at 40 g/*** sample of 50 g/L showed the best corrosion resistance.

We report the electronic band structure and optical parameters of X-Phosphides （X=B, AI, Ga, In） by first-principles technique based on a new approximation known as modified Becke-Johnson （roB J）. This potential is considered more accurate in elaborating excited states properties of insulators and semiconductors as compared to LDA and GGA. The present calculated band gaps values of BP, AlP, GaP, and InP are 1.867 eV, 2.268 eV, 2.090 eV, and 1.377 eV respectively, which are in close agreement to the experimental results. The band gap values trend in this study is as： E9 （mBJ-GGA/LDA）〉 E9 （GGA）〉 Eg （LDA）. Optical parametric quantities （dielectric constant, refractive index, reflectivity and optical conductivity） which based on the band structure are aiso presented and discussed. BP, AlP, GaP, and InP have strong absorption in between the energy range 4-9 eV, 4-7 ev, 3-7 eV, and 2-7 eV respectively. Static dielectric constant, static refractive index and coefficient of reflectivity at zero frequency, within mBJ-GGA, are also calculated. BP, AIP, GaP, and InP show significant optical conductivity in the range 5.2-10 eV, 4.3-8 eV, 3.5- 7.2 eV, and 3.2-8 eV respectively. The present study endorses that the said compounds can be used in opto-electronic applications, for different energy ranges.

Photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue by nanostructured Fe/FeS powder under visible light

The photocatalytic performance of mechano-thermally synthesized Fe/FeS nanostructures formed from micron-sized starting materials was compared with that of a thermally synthesized nanostructure with nano-sized precursors in this paper. The properties of as-synthesized materials were studied by X-ray diffraction（XRD）, transmission electron microscopy（TEm）, vibrating sample magnetometry（VSm）, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy（DRS）, and ultraviolet–visible（UV-Vis） spectroscopy. The effects of irradiation time, methylene blue（mB） concentration, catalyst dosage, and p H value upon the degradation of mB were studied. magnetic properties of the samples showed that both as-synthesized Fe/FeS photocatalysts are magnetically recoverable, eliminating the need for conventional filtration steps. Degradation of 5 ppm of the mB solution by mechano-thermally synthesized Fe/FeS with a photocatalyst dosage of 1 kg/m^3 at pH 11 can reach 96% after 12 ks irradiation under visible light. The photocatalytic efficiency is higher in alkaline solution. The kinetics of photocatalytic degradation in both samples is controlled by a first-order reaction. However, the rate-constant value in the thermally synthesized Fe/FeS photocatalyst sample is only 1.5 times greater than that of the mechano-thermally synthesized one.

We present the characteristics of the thermoluminescence (TL) response of Ge-doped optical fibers with various energies and exposures of photon *** investigate the Ge-doped SiO2 as an efficient TL material,the TL responses are compared with commercially available standard TLD100 *** Ge-doped optical fiber and TLD100 are placed in gelatin capsules and irradiated with x-ray using a Toshiba model KXO-15R x-ray *** Ge-doped fiber and TLD-100 show linear response as a function of current and time using x-ray photon of energy 60,80 and *** irradiated with 60,80 and l00kV x-ray energy at various currents (mA ),tube distance (cm) and exposure time (second) ranges,TLD100 media provide a TL yield up to two times that of Ge-doped *** energy response of the Ge-doped fibers is linear and similar over the 60-l00 kVenergy range,and its sensitivity is 0.39±0.05 of the TLD100 *** glow curves of TLD 100 and doped optical fiber are also compared.

The electronic band structure and optical parameters of Snmg_(2)O_(4) are investigated by the first-principles technique based on a new potential approximation known as modified Becke–Johnson(mBJ).The direct band gap values by LDA,GGA and EV-GGA are underestimated significantly as compared to mBJ-GGA,which generally provides the results comparable to the experimental ***,the present band gap value(4.85 eV)using mBJ-GGA is greatly enhanced to the previous value by EV-GGA(2.823 eV).The optical parametric quantities(dielectric constant,index of refraction,reflectivity,optical conductivity and absorption coefficient)relying on the band structure are presented and *** first critical point(optical absorption's edge)in Snmg_(2)O_(4) occurs at about 4.85 eV.A strong absorption region is observed,extending between 5.4 eV to 25.0 *** Snmg_(2)O_(4),static dielectric constantε1(0),static refractive index n(0),and the magnitude of the coefficient of reflectivity at zero frequency R(0)are 2.296,1.515 and 0.0419,*** optoelectronic properties indicate that this material can be successfully used in optical devices.
