This study aimed to investigate the osteo-inductive capacity of a fucoidan polysaccharide network derived from brown algae on human adipose-derived stem cells(ha-MSCs)for bone *** physiochemical properties of the scaffold including surface morphology,surface chemistry,hydrophilicity,mechanical stiffness,and porosity were thoroughly *** in vitro and in vivo measurements implied a superior cell viability,proliferation,adhesion,and osteo-inductive performance of obtained scaffolds compared to using specific osteogenic induction medium with increased irregular growth of calcium crystallites,which mimic the structure of natural *** scaffold was highly biocompatible and suitable for cell *** examinations,such as quantification of mineralization,alkaline phosphatase,gene expression,and immunocytochemical staining of pre-osteocyte and bone markers confirmed that haD-MSCs differentiate into osteoblasts,even without an osteogenic induction *** study provides evidence for the positive relationship and synergistic effects between the physical properties of the decellularized seaweed scaffold and the chemical composition of fucoidan in promoting the osteogenic differentiation of ***,the natural matrices derived from brown seaweed offers a sustainable,cost-effective,non-toxic bioinspired scaffold and holds promise for future clinical applications in orthopedics.

Exploring Trees Diversity and Ecological Value of Mountain Forests in the Blue Nile Region of Sudan

We carried out this research at Abu-Gaddaf Natural Forest Reserve (ANFR) which is located east of Blue Nile River, in Blue Nile State, Sudan. It aims at exploring tree composition assessing their diversity indices, and ecological importance values. For survey of types and estimation of density of tree species in the forest, we randomly distributed 97 circular sample plots (0.1 hectare (ha)). In each sample plot we identified all trees to the species level, recorded their frequencies and computed species diversity and importance value indices (IVI). A total of 13 tree species, which belong to 12 genera and nine families, were identified in the tree layer of the forest. Mean tree density in ANFR was 116 trees/ha, composed mainly of Boswellia papyrifera (Del.) Hochst. (48), followed by Combretum hartmannianu (19) and Lannea fruticosa (18). Fabaceae was the most common family followed by Combretaceae and Malvaceae. B. papyrifera Delile Hochst was the most abundant while Acacia seyal was the least abundant species. Species richness (R = 1.71), evenness (E = 0.69), dominance (0.24) indices and Simpson’s Index of Diversity (D' = 0.76) suggest a moderate diversity, moderate numbers of individuals in each species and a moderate community stability. The research provides empirical results on diversity and ecological importance value of species, signifies the urging need to safeguard threatened species and to prioritize them for conservation, as well as the need to promote management of abundant species to provide multiple forest ecosystem services.

In-situ solvothermal processing of polycaprolactone/hydroxyapatite nanocomposites with enhanced mechanical and biological performance for bone tissue engineering

The interest in biodegradable polymer-matrix nanocomposites with bone regeneration potential has been increasing in recent *** the present work,a solvothermal process is introduced to prepare hydroxyapatite(ha)nanorod-reinforced polycaprolactone in-situ.A non-aqueous polymer solution containing calcium and phosphorous precursors is prepared and processed in a closed autoclave at different temperatures in the range of 60-150℃.Hydroxyapatite nanorods with varying aspect ratios are formed depending on the processing temperature.X-ray diffraction analysis and field-emission scanning electron microscopy indicate that the ha nanorods are ***-dispersive Xray spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectrometry determine that the ratio of calcium to phosphorous increases as the processing temperature *** evaluate the effect of in-situ processing on the mechanical properties of the nanocomposites,highly porous scaffolds(>90%)containing ha nanorods are prepared by employing freeze drying and salt leaching *** is shown that the elastic modulus and strength of the nanocomposites prepared by the in-situ method is superior(~15%)to those of the ex-situ samples(blended ha nanorods with the polymer solution).The enhanced bone regeneration potential of the nanocomposites is shown via an in vitro bioactivity assay in a saturated simulated body *** improved cell viability and proliferation is also shown by employing(3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide)(MTT)assay in human osteosarcoma cell *** prepared scaffolds with in vitro regeneration capacity could be potentially useful for orthopaedic applications and maxillofacial surgery.

Energy-use pattern and carbon footprint of rain-fed watermelon production in Iran

The analysis of energy-use patterns and carbon footprint is useful in achieving sustainable development in ***-use indices and carbon footprint for rain-fed watermelon production were studied in the Kiashahr region of Northern *** were collected from 58 farmers using a self-structured questionnaire during the growing season of *** Cobb–Douglas model and sensitivity analysis were used to evaluate the effects of energy input on rain-fed watermelon *** findings demonstrated that chemical fertilizers consumed the highest percentage of total energy input(75.2%),followed by diesel fuel(12.9%).The total energy input was 16594.74 MJ ha^-1 and total energy output was 36275.24 MJ ha^-*** results showed that the energy-use ratio was 2.19,energy productivity was 1.15 kg MJ1,energy intensity was 0.87 MJ kg1,and net energy gain was 19680.60 MJ ha^-*** and indirect energy for watermelon production were calculated as 2374.4 MJ ha^-1(14.3%)and 14220.3 MJ ha^-1(85.7%),*** share of renewable energy was 1.4%.This highlights the need to reduce the share of non-renewable energy and improve the sustainability of rain-fed watermelon production in Northern *** study of carbon footprint showed that the chemical fertilizer caused the highest percentage of greenhouse gas emissions(GHG)followed by machinery with 52.6%and 23.8%of total GHG emissions,*** results of the Cobb–Douglas model and sensitivity analysis revealed that increasing one MJ of energy input of human labor,machinery,diesel fuel,chemical fertilizers,biocides,and seed changed the yield by 1.03,0.96,0.19,0.97,0.16,and 0.22 kg,respectively,in the Kiashahr region of Northern *** some of the nitrogen required for crop growth through biological alternatives,renewing old power tillers,and using conservation tillage machinery may enhance energy efficiency and mitigate GHG emissions for rain-fed watermelon production in Northern Iran.

Estimation of soil carbon pools in the forests of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Pakistan

Forest soils have high carbon densities compared to other *** carbon sequestration is important to reduce CO 2 concentrations in the *** eff ective climate change mitigation strategy involves limiting the emissions of greenhouse gases from *** Pakhtunkhwa is the most forested province of Pakistan,hosting about one-third of the country’s 4.5×106 ha forest *** organic carbon in the province’s forests was estimated through a fi eld-based study carried out during 2014–17 covering the whole *** was collected from 373 sample plots laid out in diff erent forest types using a stratifi ed cluster sampling *** total quantity of soil organic carbon was estimated at 59.4×106 t with an average of 52.4±5.3 t/*** 69%of the total soil carbon is present in temperate *** broad-leaved and subtropical pine forests constitute 11.4%and 8.8%of the soil carbon stock ***,subalpine and oak forests have respective shares of 5.1%and 5.7%in the soil carbon *** lowest carbon stock(0.1%)was found in dry-tropical thorn *** highest soil carbon density was found in subalpine forests(69.5±7.2 t/ha)followed by moist temperate forests(68.5±6.7 t/ha)and dry temperate forests(60.7±6.5 t/ha).Oak forests have carbon density of 43.4±7.1 t/*** pine,subtropical broad-leaved and dry tropical thorn forests have soil carbon densities of 36.3±3.7,32.8±6.2 and 31.5±3.5 t/ha,*** forests of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province have substantial amounts of soil carbon which must be conserved for climate change mitigation and maintenance of sound forest health.

Thermal degradation of diethanolamine at stripper condition for CO2 capture: Product types and reaction mechanisms

Amine-based absorption/stripping is one of the promising technology for CO2 capture from natural and industrial gas *** the process,amines and CO2 undergo irreversible reactions to produce undesired compounds,which cause corrosion,foaming,increased viscosity and breakdown of equipment,ultimately contributing to the economic loss and environmental *** this study,the thermal degradation of aqueous diethanolamine in the presence and absence of dissolved CO2 was *** experiments were performed in stainless steel *** results show that thermal degradation in the absence of CO2 was a slow process;triethanolamine,and tris(2-aminoethyl)amine were only the degradation products identified in the mixture In addition,the rate of degradation was very low,only 3%degradation was observed after 4 *** in the presence of CO2,sixteen degradation products were identified,nine of which were new degradation products reported for the first time in this *** 3-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-oxazolidinone,1,4-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazine and triethanolamine were the most abundant degradation *** remaining DEA concentration after 4 weeks was about 20%of the total amine *** most probable degradation reactions and their mechanisms are also proposed.

Phishing attacks are security attacks that do not affect only individuals’or organizations’websites but may affect Internet of Things(IoT)devices and *** environment is an exposed environment for such *** may use thingbots software for the dispersal of hidden junk emails that are not noticed by *** and deep learning and other methods were used to design detection methods for these ***,there is still a need to enhance detection *** of an ensemble classiﬁcation method for phishing website(PW)detection is proposed in this study.A Genetic Algo-rithm(GA)was used for the proposed method optimization by tuning several ensemble Machine Learning(ML)methods parameters,including Random Forest(RF),AdaBoost(AB),XGBoost(XGB),Bagging(BA),GradientBoost(GB),and LightGBM(LGBM).These were accomplished by ranking the optimized classi-ﬁers to pick out the best classiﬁers as a base for the proposed method.A PW data-set that is made up of 4898 PWs and 6157 legitimate websites(LWs)was used for this study's *** a result,detection accuracy was enhanced and reached 97.16 percent.

Phosphate Biofertilizer, Row Spacing and Plant Density Effects on Corn (<i>Zea mays</i>L.) Yield and Weed Growth

A field study was conducted at the Agricultural Research Farm of Razi University, Kermanshah, Iran to investigate the effects of phosphate biofertilizer, row spacing and plant density on corn yield and weed growth. The experiment was a factorial with three factors arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications. The first factor was phosphate biofertilizer (inoculation and non-inoculation), the second was row spacing (conventional (75 cm) and reduced (50 cm)) and the third was plant density (66,666 plants·ha–1 (conventional plant density) 83,333 and 99,999 plants·ha–1 (1.25 and 1.5 times the conventional plant density, respectively)). Results indicated that corn yield and weed growth were significantly influenced by row spacing and plant density. So that, corn yield improved and weed biomass diminished in response to increasing plant density and decreasing row spacing. However, phosphate biofertilizer had no significant effect on corn yield, whereas, weed biomass was notably increased when phosphate biofertilizer was applied. Overall, this study revealed that both yield and weed control in corn field can be improved by alteration of the planting arrangement.

Assessment of Forest Growing Stock of Timergara Forest Subdivision, Dir Lower Forest Division

The present study was aimed to assess the growing stock of Timergara forest subdivision which was a part of Dir lower forest division (Pakistan). The study area was divided into two different climatic zones (i.e. sub-tropical sub humid and sub-humid temperate zones) on the basis of altitudinal considerations. A total of 43 sample plots are taken in the forest area of 8480 hectare with random sampling technique representing 0.5% of the total forest area. Each sample plot size was of one hectare. In each 100 × 100 m (1 ha plot), number of trees, diameter, age, height, increment, form factor and volume were measured. An interrelation between the diameter (independent variable) and all the other dependent variables (volume, increment and height) were found. At the end, volume tables were made which suited the local conditions as the ones used before were not suited to the local conditions.

Deficiencies of essential vitamins,iron(Fe),and zinc(Zn)affect over one-half of the world’s population.A significant progress has been made to control micronutrient deficiencies through supplementation,but new approaches are needed,especially to reach the rural *** biofortification of pulses with Zn,Fe,and boron(B)offers a pragmatic solution to combat hidden hunger instead of food fortification and ***,it also has positive effects on crop production as ***,we conducted three separate field experiments for two consecutive years to evaluate the impact of soil and foliar application of the aforementioned nutrients on the yield and seed biofortification of *** application of Zn at 0,4.125,8.25,Fe at 0,2.5,5.0 and B at 0,0.55,1.1 kg ha−1 was done in the first,second and third experiment,*** application in these experiments was done at 0.3%Zn,0.2%Fe and 0.1%B respectively one week after flowering *** revealed that soil-applied Zn,Fe and B at 8.25,5.0 and 1.1 kg ha−1,respectively,enhanced the grain yield of mungbean;however,this increase in yield was statistically similar to that recorded with Zn,Fe and B at 4.125,2.5 and 0.55 kg ha−1,*** application of these nutrients at flower initiation significantly enhanced the Zn contents by 28%and 31%,Fe contents by 80%and 78%,while B contents by 98%and 116%over control during 2019 and 2020,*** was concluded from the results that soil application of Zn,Fe,and B enhanced the yield performance of mungbean;while significant improvements in seed Zn,Fe,and B contents were recorded with foliar application of these nutrients.
