Strong evidence showed that fever after traumatic brain injury TBI is associated with increased mortality. In this study, we tried to evaluate the role of Bromocriptine in central hyperthermia in patients with severe TBI. This prospective controlled study was conducted on 50 severe TBI patients who admitted to the critical care department and confirmed on Computed Tomography (CT) of the brain and GCS of less than 9 at admission. Then, they were randomly assigned into 2 groups. Bromocriptine group (25) received bromocriptine 7.5 mg/day during 24 hours from admission through a naso-gastric (NG) feeding tube. Control group (25) received conventional treatment only. Temperature was measured every 2 hours. The antipyretic measures used were the same across all patients enrolled. The primary outcome was number of patients diagnosed with central hyperthermia. After the discharge of all patients, there was a statistically significant difference between the 2 groups in number of patients diagnosed with central hyperthermia (6 (24%) in bromocriptine group Vs 18 (72%) in control, p = 0.002). There were no differences in hospital length of stay (p = 0.904) or mortality (p = 0.393). Early administration of bromocriptine in severe TBI may be associated with lower incidence of central hyperthermia with no effect on length of stay or mortality.

A new mathematical model of time fractional order heat equation and fractional order boundary condition have been constructed in the context of the generalized theory of thermo piezoelasticity. The governing equations have been applied to a semi infinite piezoelectric slab. The Laplace transform technique is used to remove the time-dependent terms in the governing differential equations and the boundary condition. The solution of the problem is first obtained in the Laplace transform domain. Furthermore, a complex inversion formula of the transform based on a Fourier expansion is used to get the numerical solutions of the field equations which are represented graphically.

AIM: DMA mismatch repair (MMR) is an important mechanism for maintaining fidelity of genomic DNA. Abnormalities in one or more MMR genes are implicated in the development of many cancers. We investigated the role of expression of MMR genes (hMLH1, hPMS1, hPMS2, GTBP/hMSH6, hMSH2) in hepatocellular carcinogenesis. METHODS: We evaluated the expression level of MMR genes in 33 hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cases using the multiplex reverse transcription (RT) PCR assays, as well as in 16 cases of normal adjacent hepatic tissues. β-actin gene was used as an internal control and calibrator for quantification of gene expression. RESULTS: Out of the 33 studied cases, 25 were HCV positive and 30 (90.9%) showed reduced expression in one or more of the studied MMR genes. Reduced expression was found in hMSH2(71.9%), hMLH1 (53.3%), GTBP(51.1%), hPMS2 (33.3%) and hPMS1 (6%). A significant correlation was found between reduced expression of hPMS2(P= 0.0069) and GTBP(P= 0.0034), hPMS2 and non-cirrhosis (P= 0.0197), hMLH1 and high grade. On the other hand, 57.1%, 50%, 20%, 18.8%, and 6% of the normal tissues distant to tumors showed reduced expression of hMSH2, hMLH1, GTBP, hPMS2, and hPMS1 respectively. Multivariate analysis revealed a significant correlation between the expression level of hMSH2(P= 0.008), hMLH1 (P= 0.001) and GTBP (P= 0.032) and HCC, between hPMS2, GTBP and HCV-associated HCC (P<0.001, 0.002). CONCLUSION: Reduced expression of MMR genes seems to play an important role in HCV-associated HCC. hPMS2 is likely involved at an early stage of hepatocarcinogenesis since it was detected in normal adjacent tissues. Reduced expression of hPMS2 provides a growth advantage and stimulates proliferation which encourages malignant transformation in non-cirrhotic HCV-infected patients via acquisition of more genetic damages.

Berseem clover (Trifolium alexandrinum L.) is the main winter forage legume in Egypt. Despite that the yield and protein content of berseem clover are high, it is characterized by low dry matter content especially in the 1st cut. Intercropping berseem clover with forage grasses, especially annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) is a recommended technique to produce higher forage yield with better balanced nutritional quality. However, little is known about the performance of these proposed mixtures under the arising organic farming system in Egypt. Organic farming and the application of organic fertilizers (compost and poultry manure) are receiving increased attention in the last few years. Thus, the current study was carried out on the winter season of two successive years (2012 and 2013) in the experimental station of SEKEM organic farm, Egypt. Main aim was to investigate the variation in 1st cut forage yield and nutritive value of berseem clover and annual ryegrass, grown in pure stands and with three mixing rates, under three organic fertilization regimes (compost, poultry litter, and no fertilization). Nutritive value was judged through investigating the crude protein (CP), total carbohydrates (TC), and fiber fractions (NDF, ADF, and ADL). Results revealed significant two-way interaction between the forage treatments and the fertilization regimes for all the studied parameters. In general, mixing berseem clover with annual ryegrass, fertilized by compost or poultry litter resulted in significantly higher forage yield, dry matter content, and balanced CP, TC, and fiber fractions, compared to the pure stands.

Background: Percutaneous mitral balloon valvuloplasty is the main procedure in mitral stenosis (MS). It can replace surgical commissurotomy in many cases;however, mitral regurgitation (MR) remains the major procedure complication. Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate predictors of MR as a complication followingpercutaneous mitral valvuloplasty (PMV) using multitrack balloon technique. Methods: This cohort study was conducted at both Menoufia University Hospital and Mabaret Misr Elkadima Hospital. We enrolled 121 patients with moderate to severe MS who were subjected to PMV using multitrack balloon technique during the period from October 2017 to October 2019. Transthoracic echocardiographic evaluation was performed for all patients before and after the procedure. Patients who developed severe MR post procedure were compared with other patients to identify important distinction points. The theory of two-temperature generalized thermoelasticity is used to solve the problem of heating a semi-infinite rod made of a piezoelectric ceramic material within the framework of generalized thermopiezoelasticity theory by supplying the rod a certain amount of heat uniformly distributed over a finite time period to the finite end of the rod. The Laplace transform formalism is used to solve the proposed model. Inverse Laplace transforms are computed numerically using a method based on Fourier expansion techniques. The physical parameters (i.e., conductive temperature, dynamical temperature, stress, strain, and displacement distributions) are investigated graphically.

Transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and atom probe tomography(APT)techniques were used to investigate the nanoscale orderedα_(2)(Ti_(3)Al)precipitates in Ti–Al binary ***–6Al and Ti–8Al binary alloys were solution treated and aged to obtain Widmanstatten microstructure and promoteα_(2)*** TEM results displayed strong short-range ordering ofα_(2)precipitates in Ti–8Al alloy,while no evidence of the superlattice reflections ofα_(2)in Ti–6Al *** results acquired from APT showed theα_(2)clusters and atoms distribution at the interface between the matrix andα_(2)*** size and morphology ofα_(2)particles in Ti–8Al alloy,respectively,obtained by TEM and APT are closely ***,the APT results displayed tiny size clusters in Ti–6Al alloy,which supposed to give evidence of the initial ordering process ofα_(2)precipitates in the absence of correlative results from TEM.

In modem protection relays, the accurate and fast fault location is an essential task for transmission line protection from the point of service restoration and reliability. The applications of neural networks based fault location techniques to transmission line are available in many papers. However, almost all the studies have so far employed the FNN （feed-forward neural network） trained with back-propagation algorithm （BPNN） which has a better structure and been widely used. But there are still many drawbacks if we simply use feed-forward neural network, such as slow training rate, easy to trap into local minimum point, and bad ability on global search. In this paper, feed-forward neural network trained by PSO （particle swarm optimization） algorithm is proposed for fault location scheme in 500 kV transmission system with distributed parameters presentation, The purpose is to simulate distance protection relay. The algorithm acts as classifier which requires phasor measurements data from one end of the transmission line and DFT （discrete Fourier transform）. Extensive simulation studies carried out using MATLAB show that the proposed scheme has the ability to give a good estimation of fault location under various fault conditions.
