We calculate the long-range Van der Waals force and the photoelectric cross section in a noncommutative setup. It is argued that non-commutativity effects could not be discerned for the Van der Waals interactions. The result for the photoelectric effect shows deviation from the usual commutative one, which in principle can be used to put bounds on the space-space non-commutativity parameter.

Cobalt is commonly admitted as being a promising catalyst in accelerating NaBH4 hydrolysis,being as reactive as noble metals and much more *** is the topic of the present ***,we survey(i) the NaBH4-devoted literature while especially focusing on the Co catalysts and(ii) our work on the same ***,we report(iii) reactivity results of newly developed Co-based *** both surveys,it mainly stands out that Co has been investigated as catalysts in various forms:namely,as chlorides,reduced nanoparticles(metal Co,Co boride,Co-B alloy),supported over supports and *** doing so the reactivity can be easily varied achieving H2 generation rates from few to >1000 L(H2)/min·g(metal).Nevertheless,our work can be distinguished from the NaBH4 ***,we are working on strategies that focus on making alternative Co-based *** of these strategies is illustrated here as we report new reactivity data of Co-based bimetallic supported *** example,we show that 20 wt% Co90Y10/γAl2O3-20 wt% Co95Hf5/γAl2O3 > 20 wt% Co99Zr1/γAl2O3 > 20 wt% Co/γAl2O3,the best catalysts showing HGRs of about 245 mL(H2)/min or 123 L(H2) /min·g(metals).

Recent protests in Iraq have brought focus to many issues currently affecting the Iraqi government’s ability to govern.A source of some of these issues is the 2005 *** Constitution’s biggest flaw is its ambiguity that has led to a confused political order whereby Iraq’s political elite seek to interpret and take advantage of the Constitution for their personal ***’s first Prime Minister,and the longest reigning since the 2003 Occupation,Nouri al-Maliki,was the first to exploit constitutional ambiguity and perhaps the most effective at *** questions arise to the issue of constitutional ambiguity and its exploitation by the Prime *** did the ambiguity in the Iraqi Constitution come from and how exactly was the constitution ambiguous?And how and through what processes did Nouri al-Maliki exploit ambiguities in the Iraqi Constitution?This paper will argue that constitutional ambiguity was(I)brought about by the rushed drafting of the 2005 Iraqi Constitution that saw American interference in the process result in an ambiguous document posing problems in four key areas,and(II)that the first Prime Minister who dealt with the Constitution,Nouri al-Maliki,exploited the Constitution through three distinct processes:coopting the Judiciary,bypassing bureaucracy through patronage networks,and legitimising decisions that suited his own benefit using the Constitution as *** paper hopes to serve as a case study for the exploitation of constitutional ambiguity in post-occupation countries,where constitutional drafting was in one way or another flawed or mishandled;and a explanation as to how and through what processes constitutional ambiguity can be exploited by a country’s executive leadership.

As the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)continues to spread globally,it became evident that the SARS-CoV-2 virus infects multiple organs including the *** clinical studies revealed that patients with COVID-19 infection experience an array of neurological signs ranging in severity from headaches to life-threatening *** the exact mechanism by which the SARS-CoV-2 virus directly impacts the brain is not fully understood,several theories have been suggested including direct and indirect pathways induced by the *** possible theory is the invasion of SARS-CoV-2 to the brain occurs either through the bloodstream or via the nerve endings which is considered to be the direct *** findings are based on studies reporting the presence of viral material in the cerebrospinal fluid and brain ***,the indirect mechanisms,including blood-clotting abnormalities and prolonged activation of the immune system,can result in further tissue and organ damages seen during the course of the *** overview attempts to give a thorough insight into SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus neurological infection and highlights the possible mechanisms leading to the neurological manifestations observed in infected patients.

Fluid Overload after Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Surgery Increases the Incidence of Post-Operative Complications

This study is a prospective trial comparing the incidence of post-operative complications to fluid status in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery. One hundred and nine subjects undergoing CABG surgery at the Jewish general hospital were recruited over a 5 months period in the year 2006. All of the patients underwent CABG surgery “on pump”. Post operative fluid overload was measured by weight gain. Using logistic regression with complications (major vs. minor only/none) as an outcome and fluid overload as a covariate, the risk of major complications significantly increases for fluid overload ≥5 kg compared to 1 - 5 kg (p < 0.001), while the risk for ≤1 kg is not significantly different from 1 - 5 kg. Also, the risk of major complications significantly (p = 0.012) increases for days with fluid overload ≥5 days in comparison to ≤1 day.

Uric Acid;a Possible Mediator of the Adjuvant Effect of Alum in Mice Immunized with Ovalbumin

One proposed mechanism by which alum enhances an immune response is by its ability to induce an inflammatory response that results in the release of uric acid from necrotic cells. Uric acid is thought to be a mediator in enhancing the immune response. The aim of this study was to investigate the immunopotentiating effect of uric acid. Groups of BALB/c mice were injected intraperitoneally with ovalbumin, ovalbumin + alum, ovalbumin + uric acid, uric acid, alum, or allopurinol. Two other groups were pretreated with allopurinol and were given ovalbumin + alum, or ovalbumin + uric acid 24 hours later. An additional two groups served as controls. On days 4, 7 and 10 post-injection, the numbers of Interleukin 4(IL-4) and Interferon-γ (IFN-γ) secreting spleen cells were determined by the ELISPOT assay. Serum uric acid levels were determined using an autoanalyser and nitric oxide using the Greiss reagent. The groups that received alum + ovalbumin or uric acid + ovalbumin had the highest numbers of IL-4 and INF-γ secreting cells as compared to all the groups. Allopurinol administration one day prior to alum + ovalbumin or uric acid + ovalbumin resulted in a decrease in the number of IL-4 and INF-γ secreting cells when compared to alum+ ovalbumin or uric acid + ovalbumin allopurinol - untreated groups. Groups that received alum, alum + ovalbumin, uric acid, and uric acid + ovalbumin had high serum uric acid levels as compared to all the groups. All groups that received alum had the highest levels of nitric oxide when compared to the groups that were not given alum. In conclusion, it appears that uric acid might be a mediator in the adjuvant effect of alum.
