A four-band index for both liquid and solid water and its applications in the Aral sea Basin

Various investigations have been conducted to analyze the water-coverage area of the Aral sea and the Aral sea Basin(AsB). However, the investigations incorporated considerable uncertainty and the used water indices had misclassification problem, which made different research groups present different results. Thus we first ascertain the boundaries of the AsB, the syr and Amu river basins as well as their upper, middle and lower reaches. Then a four-band index for both liquid and solid water(ILsW) is proposed to address the misclassification problems of the classic water indices. ILsW is calculated by using the reflectance values of the green, red, near infrared, and thermal infrared bands, which combines the normalized difference water index(NDWI) and land surface temperature(LsT) together. Validation results show that the ILsW water index has the highest accuracy by far in the Aral sea Basin. Our results indicate that annual average decline of the water-coverage area was 963 km^(2) in the southern Aral sea, whereas the northern Aral sea has experienced little change. In the meanwhile, permanent ice and snow in upper reach of AsB has retreated considerably. Annual retreating rates of the permanent ice and snow were respectively 6233and 3841 km^(2) in upper reaches of Amu river basin(UARB) and syr river basin(UsRB). One of major reasons is that climate has become warmer in AsB. The climate change has caused serious water deficit problem. The water deficit had an increasing trend since the 1990s and its increasing rates was 3.778 billion m^(3) yearly on average. The total water deficit was 76.967 billion m^(3) on average in the whole area of AsB in the 2010s. However, up reaches of syr river basin(UsRB), a component area of AsB, had water surplus of 25.461 billion m^(3). These conclusions are useful for setting out a sustainable development strategy in AsB.

Development and validation of a nomogram model for predicting the risk of pre-hospital delay in patients with acute myocardial infarction

Aqueous sodium-ion batteries are known for poor rechargeability because of the competitive water decomposition reactions and the high electrode *** have been reported by saltconcentrated and organic-hybridized electrolyte designs,however,at the expense of cost and ***,we report the prolonged cycling of AsIBs in routine dilute electrolytes by employing artificial electrode coatings consisting of NaX zeolite and NaOH-neutralized perfluorinated sulfonic *** as-formed composite interphase exhibits a molecularsieving effect jointly played by zeolite channels and size-shrunken ionic domains in the polymer matrix,which enables high rejection of hydrated Na^(+)ions while allowing fast dehydrated Na^(+)*** this coating to electrode surfaces expands the electrochemical window of a practically feasible 2 mol kg^(-1) sodium trifluoromethanesulfonate aqueous electrolyte to 2.70 V and affords Na_(2)MnFe(CN)_(6)//NaTi_(2)(PO_(4))_(3) full cells with an unprecedented cycling stability of 94.9%capacity retention after 200 cycles at 1 *** with emerging electrolyte modifications,this molecular-sieving interphase brings amplified benefits in long-term operation of AsIBs.

Carbon dots-derived three-dimensional-ordered macroporous host with high penetrability and catalytic activity for LsBs under lean electrolyte

The practical energy density of lithium-sulfur batteries(LsBs)is seriously limited by the high electrolyte-to-sulfur ratios(E/s).The E/s can be reduced by employing hosts with easy-to-infiltrate structure that ensures the uniform distribution of a lean electrolyte and high catalytic activity that can suppress"shuttle effect"via accelerating the slow conversion of soluble poly sulfides to insoluble *** the easy-to-infiltrate structures,the three-dimensional-ordered macroporous(3DOM)structure is easier to scale preparation and more suitable for the existing industrial ***,it is difficult to obtain the 3DOM with(1)high penetrability due to the high viscosity of frequently-used organic polymer precursors and(2)high catalytic activity due to the low confinement effect,meaning that uniformly dispersed small-sized catalytic materials are difficult to load on ***,using carbon dots(CDs)with both organic and inorganic properties as a precursor and aggregation limiting agent,a 3DOM host with high penetrability and homodispersed Ni particles of small sizes(Ni-CDs-3DOM)was *** this host:(1)CDs precursor with suitable viscosity can improve the penetrability.(2)CDs can effectively inhibit the agglomeration of Ni particles.(3)Uniformly dispersed small-size Ni particles offer high-efficiency catalytic activity toward sulfur ***,the Ni-CDs-3DOM/sulfur cathode exhibits high sulfur utilization and stable cycling performance even under high sulfur loading(5.5 mg·cm^(-2))and low E/s(6.5μl·mg^(-1)).This work indicates the usefulness of CDs in constructing hosts for LsBs with high energy density.
