Nonlinear wave dispersion in monoatomic chains with lumped and distributed masses:discrete and continuum models

The main objective of this paper is to investigate the influence of inertia of nonlinear springs on the dispersion behavior of discrete monoatomic chains with lumped and distributed *** developed model can represent the wave propagation problem in a non-homogeneous material consisting of heavy inclusions embedded in a *** inclusions are idealized by lumped masses,and the matrix between adjacent inclusions is modeled by a nonlinear spring with distributed ***,the model is capable of depicting the wave propagation in bi-material bars,wherein the first material is represented by a rigid particle and the second one is represented by a nonlinear spring with distributed *** discrete model of the nonlinear monoatomic chain with lumped and distributed masses is first considered,and a closed-form expression of the dispersion relation is obtained by the second-order Lindstedt-Poincare method(LPM).Next,a continuum model for the nonlinear monoatomic chain is derived directly from its discrete lattice model by a suitable continualization *** subsequent use of the second-order method of multiple scales(MMs)facilitates the derivation of the corresponding nonlinear dispersion relation in a closed *** novelties of the present study consist of(i)considering the inertia of nonlinear springs on the dispersion behavior of the discrete mass-spring chains;(ii)developing the second-order LPM for the wave propagation in the discrete chains;and(iii)deriving a continuum model for the nonlinear monoatomic chains with lumped and distributed ***,a parametric study is conducted to examine the effects of the design parameters and the distributed spring mass on the nonlinear dispersion relations and phase velocities obtained from both the discrete and continuum *** parameters include the ratio of the spring mass to the lumped mass,the nonlinear stiffness coefficient of the spring,and the wave amplitude.

Large magnetocaloric effect and magnetic properties of EuRhO3

We report on the structural,magnetic,and magnetocaloric properties of *** oxidation states of Eu and Rh ions were studied using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPs）.It is found that the Eu ions are mainly in the divalent oxidation state while the Rh ions have+4 ***3powders are found to be antiferromagnetic with a second order magnetic transition at Neel temperature（TN=2.9 K）.Analysis of the magnetic susceptibility versus temperature data in terms of the Curie=Weiss law:(χ=C/（T-θW）) for T>TN,yields θW=-3.1 K and effective magne tic moment ■,which is close to the theoretical value ■.The magnetic entropy change(-ΔsM),was determined by em ploying the thermodynam ic Maxwell's *** μ0H=5 T and near TN,■ and relative cooling power（RCP） exhibit large values of 33.7 J/（kg·K） and 238 J/kg,*** large magnitude of-ΔsMand RCP show that the EuRhO3compound could be a potential candidate to be used in cryogenic magnetic refrigeration.

Landau quantization effects on damping Kawahara solitons in electron–positron–ion plasma in rotating ionized medium

For the dynamics of three-dimensional electron–positron–ion plasmas, a fluid quantum hydrodynamic model is proposed by considering Landau quantization effects in dense ***–neutral collisions in the presence of the Coriolis force are also considered. The application of the reductive perturbation technique produces a wave evolution equation represented by a damped Korteweg–de Vries equation. This equation, however, is insufficient for describing waves in our system at very low dispersion coefficients. As a result, we considered the highest-order perturbation, which resulted in the damped Kawahara equation. The effects of the magnetic field, Landau quantization, the ratio of positron density to electron density, the ratio of positron density to ion density, and the direction cosine on linear dispersion laws as well as soliton and conoidal solutions of the damped Kawahara equation are explored. The understanding from this research can contribute to the broader field of astrophysics and aid in the interpretation of observational data from white dwarfs.

On the analytical soliton approximations to fractional forced Korteweg-de Vries equation arising in fluids and plasmas using two novel techniques

The current investigation examines the fractional forced Korteweg-de Vries(FF-KdV) equation,a critically significant evolution equation in various nonlinear branches of science. The equation in question and other associated equations are widely acknowledged for their broad applicability and potential for simulating a wide range of nonlinear phenomena in fluid physics, plasma physics, and various scientific domains. Consequently, the main goal of this study is to use the Yang homotopy perturbation method and the Yang transform decomposition method, along with the Caputo operator for analyzing the FF-KdV equation. The derived approximations are numerically examined and discussed. Our study will show that the two suggested methods are helpful, easy to use, and essential for looking at different nonlinear models that affect complex processes.

Impact of demand growth on the capacity of long-duration energy storage under deep decarbonization

The weather-dependent uncertainty of wind and solar power generation presents a challenge to the balancing of power generation and demand in highly renewable electricity *** energy storage can provide flexibility to firm up the variability of renewables and to respond to the increased load demand under decarbonization *** paper explores how the battery energy storage capacity requirement for compressed-air energy storage(CAEs)will grow as the load demand *** we used an idealized lowest-cost optimization model to study the response of highly renewable electricity systems to the increasing load demand of California under deep *** show that providing bulk CAEs to the zero-emission power system offers substantial benefits,but it cannot fully compensate for the 100%variability of highly renewable power *** capacity requirement of CAEs increases by≤33.3%with a 1.5 times increase in the load demand and by≤50%with a two-times increase in the load *** this analysis,a zero-emission electricity system operating at current costs becomes more cost-effective when there is firm power *** least competitive nuclear option plays this role and reduces system costs by 16.4%,curtails the annual main node by 36.8%,and decreases the CAEs capacity requirements by≤80.7%in the case of a double-load *** CAEs has potential in addressing renewable variability,its widespread deployment is constrained by geographical,societal,and economic fac***,if California is aiming for an energy system that is reliant on wind and solar power,then an additional dispatchable power source other than CAEs or similar load flexibility is *** fully harness the benefits of bulk CAEs,the development and implementation of cost-effective approaches are crucial in significantly reducing system costs.

Facies development and sedimentology of the Middle Miocene carbonates of the Raghama Formation, northeastern saudi Arabia

Ragahama Formation comprises a siliciclastic continental deposits followed by marine carbonates, representing prograding alluvial fans from adjacent high hinterlands seaward into lagoons and fringing reef environments. The present work aimed to document the facies development and sedimentology of the Raghama carbonates exposed along the eastern coastal plain of the Red sea, northwestern saudi Arabia. Four stratigraphic sections were measured and sampled(D1–D4) and thin sections and major and trace element analyses were prepared and applied for petrographic and geochemical approaches. The carbonates were subdivided into three successive fore-reef, reef-core, and back-reef depositional facies. sandy stromatolitic boundstone, microbial laminites, dolomitic ooidal grainstone, bioclastic coralline algal wackestone, sandy bioclastic wackestone, and coral boundstones were the reported microfacies types. Petrographic analysis reveals that the studied carbonates were affected by dissolution, dolomitization, and aggrading recrystallization, which affects both the original micrite matrix and grains or acts as fracture and veinlet filling leading to widespread vuggy and moldic porosity. No evidence of physical compaction, suggesting rapid lithification and recrystallization during early diagenesis and prior to substantial burial and intensive flushing by meteoric waters. Most of the original microstructure of corals were leached and destructed. This is indicated by the higher depletion in sr and Ca levels and increase in Mg,Na, Fe, and Mn levels, especially in section D1, in comparison with the worldwide carbonates.

Genetic Variability and Phenotypic Correlations study among Grain Quality Traits and Mineral elements Concentrations in Colored and Non-Colored Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Twenty-four rice genotypes were examined to assess genetic variability,heritability,and correlations for seven-grain quality traits,eight nutritional elements,and *** revealed signiﬁcant differences for the quality traits *** every trait under study,the phenotypic coefﬁcient of variation was higher than the correspon-dence genotypic coefﬁcient of *** in a broad sense varied from 29.75%for grain length to 98.31%for the elongation *** percentage recovery had a highly signiﬁcant positive correlation with milling and head rice ***,milling percentage had a highly positive correlation with head rice *** amylose percentage,all the genotypes belonged to low amylose except the Hassawi-1 variety,which had intermediate amylose *** nutrition contents of magnesium(Mg),sodium(Na),potas-sium(K),calcium(Ca),copper(Cu),manganese(Mn),zinc(Zn),iron(Fe),or protein percentage gave different variations for 24 rice genotypes under all the nutritional *** the 24 genotypes,ten rice genotypes–HighNutrient-1,HighNutrient-2,HighNutrient-9,HighNutrient-8,HighNutrient-3,Hassawi-2,HighNutrient-7,HighNutrient-6,Hassawi-1,and HighNutrient-4–had the highest heist value for all nutritional and protein con-tents,and could be used as a donor to improving new *** was a positive and signiﬁcant correlation between magnesium Mg,K,Zn and ***,K had a positive correlation with zinc Zn,Fe,and protein *** analysis was divided into two groups:theﬁrst group included all genotypes rich in nutri-ents,while the remaining genotypes with low nutritional content were included in the second group.

Parabens are antimicrobial preservatives with extensive applications in cosmetics,toiletries,pharmaceuticals,and *** the legitimate concerns relating to their potential to disrupt multiple endocrine functions,it becomes imperative to prioritize the development of innovative bioanalytical techniques for effectively monitoring their presence in biological *** this study,an efficient solvent bar microextraction(sBME)was established,utilizing new hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents(DEs)to determine methylparaben and propylparaben in urine and plasma *** DEs comprising menthol and tris(2-ethylhexyl)phosphate(M-TEHP)at various molar ratios were synthesized for the first time to enhance the extraction capacity and promote the eco-friendliness of the DE used as an extraction ***-transform infrared(FT-IR)and proton nuclear magnetic resonance(1H NMR)spectroscopies were employed to confirm and investigate the properties of the successful synthesis(M-TEHP)DE at a molar ratio of 1:*** synthesized DE exhibits low microbial toxicity and can be considered an eco-friendly solvent for ***,quantum-chemical calculations were utilized to predict synthesized DE's structure and interaction energy with selected *** influential operational factors of DE-sBME on the extraction efficiency(EE%)of both parabens were evaluated using response surface methodology based on central composite design,and a total of 30 extraction tests were conducted to determine the optimal *** optimized DE-sBME,in combination with HPLC-DAD,exhibited low detection limits(0.54–0.91μg L^(−1)),excellent linearity(R^(2)≥0.9993),precise results(RsDs≤7.6%),satisfactory recoveries(92–97%)and negligible matrix ***,it had remarkable effectiveness and applicability in determining selected parabens in real urine and plasma samples.
