Recent trends in bone metastasis treatments:A historical comparison using the new Katagiri score system

Postoperative functional evaluation of gastrectomy for gastric cancer

To improve the quality of surgical procedures for gastric cancer,it is essential to consider many components comprehensively,including gastric motility,small intestinal absorption,hormones that affect gastric motility and appetite,presence or absence of vagus nerve preservation,esophageal regurgitation on endoscopic findings,in addition to whether or not there is a physiological route for food passage through the ***,proper functional evaluation cannot be performed without considering the form and amount of energy in the nutritional supplement to be loaded,and the posture at the time of *** results of functional evaluation vary according to the method selected from many available options,but we believe that use of the most physiologically accurate,appropriate and selectable option will enable us to arrive at the best resection/reconstruction *** have reported that it is important to consider the preservation of three elements when performing gastrectomy:1)reduction of the extent of gastrectomy,2)preservation of the pylorus,and 3)preservation of the vagus nerve;among which preservation of the remnant stomach is the most ***,the selection of a reconstruction method that maintains secretion of hormones beneficial to gastric motility preserves the energy balance inherent in the human body,and also provides better quality of life.

(Arylimido)vanadium(V)-Alkylidene Complexes as Catalysts for Ring-opening Metathesis Polymerization(ROMP) of Cyclic Olefins: Ligand Design for Exhibiting the High Activity

(Imido)vanadium(V)-alkylidene complexes of type V(CHsiMe3)(NR)(OR?)(PMe3)2 [R = Ad, C6H5, 2,6-Me2C6H3, 2,6-Cl2C6H3;R?= 2,6-Me2C6H3, 2,6-i Pr2C6H3, 2,6-F2C6H3, C6F5, C6Cl5] exhibited from moderate to remarkable catalytic activities for ringopening metathesis polymerization(ROMP) of norbornene(NBE). The catalytic activities were affected by the ligand substituents, and V(CHsiMe3)(N-2,6-Cl2C6H3)(OC6X5)(PMe3)2(X = F, Cl) demonstrated the exceptionally high catalytic activities for ROMP of *** complexes polymerized cycloheptene(CHPE) and cis-cyclooctene(COE), and ROMP of COE by the OC6 Cl5 analogue proceeded in a living manner even at 80℃, and the activity increased with increasing the temperature up to 120 ℃. Highly active catalysts for ROMP of cyclic olefins(NBE, cyclopentene, and CHPE) can be generated in situ by premixing isolated V(CHsiMe3)(NC6F5)(O-2,6-iPr2C6H3)(PMe3)2 with 1.0 equiv. of C6F5OH or C6Cl5OH via immediate phenoxy exchange;the activity was affected by the kind of phenol added [TOF in the ROMPs of NBE: 4.62 × 10^4 min^–1(upon addition of C6F5OH) versus 37.3 min^–1(none)].

We discuss a linear seesaw model with a field content as minimum as possible,introducing a modular s_(4)using gauged U(1)_(B−L) *** to the rank two neutrino mass matrix,we obtain a vanishing neutrino mass eigenvalue,and only the normal mass hierarchy of neutrinos is favored via the modular s_(4)*** our numericalΔχ^(2)analysis,we especially determine a relatively sharp prediction on the sum of neutrino masses to be approximately 60 meV,in addition to other predictions.

Recent studies have demonstrated that chloroplasts and mitochondria evoke specific Ca2＋ signals in response to biotic and abiotic stresses in a stress-dependent manner. The identification of Ca2＋ transporters and Ca2＋signaling mol- ecules in chloroplasts and mitochondria implies that they play roles in controlling not only intra-organellar functions, but also extra-organellar processes such as plant immunity and stress responses. It appears that organellar Ca2＋ signaling might be more important to plant cell functions than previously thought. This review briefly summarizes what is known about the molecular basis of Ca2＋ signaling in plant mitochondria and chloroplasts.

Gene expression during genital morphogenesis in the ground beetle Carabus maiyasanus

To investigate the developmental genetics of genital formation in the carabid beetle Carabus maiyasanus,we compared gene expression patterns among five stages using transcriptomic RNA sequencing data from abdominal segments and genitalia in the third(last)larval instar(including prepupa)and pupal *** identified 18839 genes,of which 10796 were differentially expressed among stages or between *** were relatively few differentially expressed genes(DEGs)between the sexes(3%).The DEGs were clustered into six groups,mainly according to stage-specific expression *** in clusters 1-3 showed high expression levels before pupation and low expression levels during the pupal period,whereas genes in clusters 46 showed high expression levels from the prepupal to the pupal *** related to the initial pupation process and differentiation of genital discs in Drosophila were involved in clusters 4 and 6 and showed low expression levels at early third instar and elevated expression levels from the early prepupal stage,suggesting that the pupation process and genital differentiation started in the prepupal *** 4 and 5 included developmental genes related to organ size control,which may be important in the formation of internal genital structures during the pupal stage.
