Land use change and its driving factors in the ecological function area:A case s.udy in the Hedong Region of the Gansu Province,China

Land use and cover change(LuCC)is important for the provision of ecosystem *** increasing number of recent s.udies link LuCC processes to ecosystem services and human well-being at different scales ***,the dynamic of land use and its drivers receive insufficient attention within ecological function areas,particularly in quantifying the dynamic roles of climate change and human activities on land use based on a long time *** s.udy utilizes geospatial analysis and geographical detectors to examine the temporal dynamics of land use patterns and their underlying drivers in the Hedong Region of the Gansu Province from 1990 to *** indicated that grassland,cropland,and forestland collectively accounted for approximately 99% of the total land *** initially increased and then decreased after 2000,while grassland decreased with *** contrast,forestland and construction land were continuously expanded,with net growth areas of 6235.2 and 455.9 km^(2),*** 1990 to 2020,cropland was converted to grassland,and both of them were converted to forestland as a *** expansion of construction land primarily originated from *** 2000 to 2005,land use experienced intensified temporal dynamics and a shift of relatively active zones from the central to the s.utheastern *** yield,economic factors,and precipitation were the major factors accounting for most land use *** impacts on land use changes were stronger before 1995,succeeded by the impact of animal husbandry during 1995-2000,followed by the impacts of grain production and gross domestic product(GDP)after ***,agricultural and pastoral activities,coupled with climate change,exhibited stronger enhancement effects after 2000 through their interaction with population and economic *** patterns closely correlated with ecological restoration projects in China since *** s.udy implies the importance of synergy be

The gut microbiota of migratory waterbirds is affected by various complex factors,including cross-species transmission,which increases the risk of pathogen spreading among sympatric animals and poses a potential public health risk to *** this s.udy,we investigated the microbial communities of wintering Bean Geese(Anser fabalis),Domestic Ducks(*** domesticus),humans,and soil using high-throughput sequencing of the 16s rRna gene region in shengjin Lake,*** total,6,046,677 clean reads were obtained,representing 41,119 operational taxonomic units(OTus)across the four *** dominant microbial phyla were the Proteobacteria,Firmicutes,Bacteroidota,and *** sorensen similarity index and alpha and beta diversity results showed that the gut microbial communities of Bean Geese and Domestic Ducks were more similar to those of the other *** analysis revealed that Faecalibacterium prausnitzii,Ps.udomonas fragi,and Bradyrhizobium elkanii were hubs of the three major *** common microbiomes were iden-tified in Bean Geese,Domestic Ducks,humans,and soil in shengjin Lake.A total of 96 potential pathogens were identified among the four groups,with 20 specific potentially pathogenic microbiomes found in the gut of Bean *** of these pathogens are responsible for significant financial losses in the poultry industry and pose risks to human *** pneumoniae,Morganella morganii,Escherichia coli,and Ralstonia insidiosa are potential core pathogens found in the four groups at shengjin Lake that can cause diseases in humans and an-imals and facilitate cross-species transmission through various ***,humans are at risk of con-tracting these pathogens from migratory birds because of their frequent contact with domestic ***,further s.udies are required to explore the potential pathogenic species and transmission pathways among sympatric wintering Bean Geese,Domestic Ducks,humans,and soil.

The adsorption performances of individual adsorbent such as.uiO-66-NH_(2)and MgAl-layered double hydroxides(MgAl-LDH)toward levofloxacin(LVX)is less satisfactory due to the disappointing uptake capacity and adsorption ***,a 3D flower-like composite adsorbent prepared via iterative hydrothermal synthesis method anchoring uiO-66-NH_(2)nanoparticles onto the MgAl-LDH *** to the synergistic effects of uiO-66-NH_(2),and MgAl-LDH,the MgAl-LDH@uiO-66-NH_(2)exhibits an outstanding adsorption performance toward ***,the maximum LVX uptake capacity over MgAl-LDH@uiO-66-NH_(2)reached 268 mg/g,which was higher than that of the individual adsorption materials.uiO-66-NH_(2)(41 mg/g),MgAl-LDH(140 mg/g),and some adsorbents reported in previous *** rapid adsorption process can reach equilibrium within 20 min,which conformed well to the ps.udo-second-order kinetics and the Langmuir isotherm *** thermodynamic result also indicated that the adsorption was spontaneous and exothermic,simultaneous coexisting physical and chemical adsorption ***,the MgAl-LDH@uiO-66-NH_(2)still maintained excellent adsorption capacity with a slightly decrease after fifth cycle,exhibiting a remarkable reuse and stable *** work provides a highly novel strategy to prepare recyclable composite adsorbent for the LVX capture from aqueous solution.

The supercritical CO_(2) Brayton cycle is considered a promising energy conversion system for Generation IV reactors for its simple layout,compact structure,and high cycle *** models of four Brayton cycle layouts are developed in this s.udy for different reactors to reduce the cost and increase the thermohydraulic performance of nuclear power generation to promote the commercialization of nuclear *** analysis,multi-objective optimizations,and four decision-making methods are applied to obtain each Brayton scheme’s optimal thermohydraulic and economic *** show that for the same design thermal power scale of reactors,the higher the core’s exit temperature,the better the Brayton cycle’s thermo-economic *** the four-cycle layouts,the recompression cycle(RC)has the best overall performance,followed by the simple recuperation cycle(sR)and the intercooling cycle(IC),and the worst is the reheating cycle(RH).However,RH has the lowest total cost of investment(C_(tot))of$1619.85 million,and IC has the lowest levelized cost of energy(LCOE)of 0.012$/(kWh).The nuclear Brayton cycle system’s overall performance has been improved due to *** performance of the molten salt reactor combined with the intercooling cycle(MsR-IC)scheme has the greatest improvement,with the net output power(W_(net)),thermal efficiencyη_(t),and exergy efficiency(η_(e))improved by 8.58%,8.58%,and 11.21%,*** performance of the lead-cooled fast reactor combined with the simple recuperation cycle scheme was optimized to increase C_(tot) by 27.78%.In comparison,the internal rate of return(IRR)increased by only 7.8%,which is not friendly to investors with limited *** the nuclear Brayton cycle,the molten salt reactor combined with the recompression cycle scheme should receive priority,and the gas-cooled fast reactor combined with the reheating cycle scheme should be considered carefully.

understanding the physiological adaptations of non-treeline trees to environmental stress is important to understand future shifts in species composition and distribution of current treeline *** aim of the present s.udy was to elucidate the mechanisms of the formation of the upper elevation limit of non-treeline tree species,Picea jezoensis,and the carbon allocation strategies of the species on Changbai *** employed the^(13)C in situ pulse labeling technique to trace the distribution of photosynthetically assimilated carbon in Picea jezoensis at different elevational positions(tree species at its.upper elevation limit(Ts.uE,1,700 m a.s.l.)under treeline ecotone;tree species at a lower elevation position(TsALE,1,400 m a.s.l.).We analyzed^(13)C and the non-structural carbohydrate(NsC)concentrations in various tis.ues following *** findings revealed a significant shift in carbon allocation in Ts.uE compared to *** was a pronounced increase inδ^(13)C allocation to belowground components(roots,soil,soil respiration)in Ts.uE compared to ***,the C flow rate within the plant-soil-atmosphere system was faster,and the C residence time in the plant was shorter in *** trends indicate enhanced C sink activity in belowground tis.ues in Ts.uE,with newly assimilated C being preferentially directed there,suggesting a more conservative C allocation strategy by *** at higher elevations.under harsher *** a strategy,prioritizing C storage in roots,likely aids in withstanding winter cold stress at the expense of aboveground growth during the growing season,leading to reduced growth of Ts.uE compared to *** results of the present s.udy shed light on the adaptive mechanisms governing the upper elevation limits of non-treeline trees,and enhances our understanding of how non-treeline species might respond to ongoing climate change.
