Antibacterial resistance developed by bacteria due to the unlimited use of antibiotics has posed a challenge for human *** kind of problem is not limited to India only,but it is a global ***,many treatments and medicines for bacterial diseases have been ***,they possess some ***,the alternative medicine has been used to target the drug resistant mechanisms and such medicines have less side effects which is becoming *** products have traditionally or historically been of importance for the development of antibacterial agents and are also known to overcome bacterial drug resistance by directly targeting the drug resistance mechanisms in *** recent years,researchers have also focused on new drug discovery from plant-based *** have looked on various phytocompounds as antibacterial *** the current review,we report various classes of secondary metabolites such as phenolic compounds,flavonoids,alkaloids,saponins,terpenes,quinones,and some essential oils that have been used as an antibacterial *** addition,we also discuss several mechanisms behind bacterial multi-drug resistance that are used during bacterial pathogenesis.

Mobile Ad Hoc Network is a self-configuring, autonomous, infrastructure less network of movable nodes which will be automatically connected by wireless connection with no access point. The nodes are free to move anywhere in the set of connections and the topology of MANET remains unpredictable. The major complexity with the available two hop relay protocols in MANET environment is to achieve the optimized throughput with reduced packet delivery delay. A generalized collection based two-hop relay and redundancy of the packet is used to attain the reduced delay. The complex process of packet delivery in MANET utilizes Routine Response Control and Modified Markov chain model. Tuning carefully the parameters, the transmission range, the packet redundancy and the group size help to achieve the optimized throughput with the reduced packet delivery delay. Transmission power of a node is controlled which helps in achieving the optimized throughput and reduced delay.

Mostly, cloud agreements are signed between the consumer and the provider using online click-through agreements. several issues and conflicts exist in the negotiation of cloud agreement terms due to the legal and ambiguous terms in service Level Agreements (sLA). semantic knowledge applied during the formation and negotiation of sLA can overcome these issues. Cloud sLA negotiation consists of numerous activities such as formation of sLA templates, publishing it in registry, verification and validation of sLA, monitoring for violation, logging and reporting and termination. Though these activities are interleaved with each other, semantic synchronization is still lacking. To overcome this, a novel sLA life cycle using semantic knowledge to automate the cloud negotiation has been formulated. semantic web platform using ontologies is designed, developed and evaluated. The resultant platform increases the task efficiency of the consumer and the provider during negotiation. Precision and recall scores for software as a service (saas), Platform as a service (Paas) and Infrastructure as a service (Iaas) sLAs were calculated. And it reveals that applying semantic knowledge helps the extraction of meaningful answers from the cloud actors.

Will High Dose Rate Interstitial Brachytherapy Be a surrogate to surgery in Early Mobile squamous Cell Carcinoma of Tongue—An Indian Experience

The study was intended to highlight functional outcome and survival advantage when High Dose Rate (HDR) interstitial implant was used for anterior 2/3rd tongue, either as a primary or as boost depending upon stage of disease. Materials and Methods: Fifty-one patients with squamous cell carcinoma of anterior 2/3rd tongue received interstitial brachytherapy either as primary or as boost with Iridium 192 remote after loading high dose rate (Microselectron or Gamma MediX) machines from November 2008 to september 2013. Age group ranged from 32 to 73 years, mean 52.1. Of these 51, 37 were males and 14 were females. 8 patients belonged to stage I, 18 from stage II and 28 patients were stage III. stage I patients received primary brachytherapy alone of dose 38.50 Gy to 40 Gy and fraction dose ranged from 250 cGy to 350 cGy. stage II and stage III patients received external beam radiation of dose 44 Gy/200cGy per fraction for 22 fractions followed by spinal cord sparing for 6 Gy/200cGy per fraction for 3 fractions. Brachytherapy boost of dose 21 Gy was delivered after external beam radiation. stage III patients received concurrent chemotherapy with Injection Cisplatin along with external beam radiotherapy 44 Gy/200cGy per fraction for 22 fractions followed by spinal cord sparing for 6 Gy/200cGy per fraction for 3 fractions. Brachytherapy boost of dose 21 Gy was delivered after external beam radiation. 55% of patients were habituated to tobacco and alcohol in one form or the other or both. surprisingly 45% of patients were nonsmokers and non-alcoholic. Results: Follow-up period ranged from eight months to sixty months. 42 patients had complete response. 9 patients had residual disease. 2 patients died due to non-cancerous cause though they had excellent local control, one with pulmonary tuberculosis and the other with massive Myocardial Infarction. 2 patients died due to disease progression. Overall complete response rate was 82.35%. Those patients who had good coverage index

Effect of Dilution of Treated Distillery Effluent (TDE) on soil Properties and Yield of sugarcane

sugarcane is one of the most important cash crops, which plays a pivotal role in India’s agricultural and industrial economy. The treated distillery effluent (TDE) being plant originated, contains all plant nutrients and organic matter. Therefore, it is being used as a cheap source of nutrients and organic manure in agriculture activities in soil besides improving soil physical properties. The experiment was conducted during August, 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 with CO 86032 in a randomized block design with six treatments and was replicated four times. The TDE was discharged @ 1.00, 0.50, 0.33, 0.25 and 0.20 lakh liters·ha-1 to get the dilutions of 1:10, 1:20, 1:30, 1:40 and 1:50 dilutions respectively. It was applied four times at 40 days interval starting from 45th day after planting. The fertilizers viz., N and P @ 75 percent of the recommended dose were applied and K was skipped. The results revealed that irrigation with TDE at 1:10 dilution resulted in higher yield of sugarcane. The TDE did not have any influence on quality parameters of sugarcane. The TDE application favourably influenced the available nutrients and organic carbon content in the soil. Besides, the present findings credibly proved that the TDE application not only enhanced the soil fertility status but also substituted for 25 percent of N and P and 100 percent of K fertilizers to sugarcane crop.

The crystal and molecular structure of 2-Amino-3-ethyl carboxamido-4-methyl-5-carboxy ethyl thiophene (C11H16N2O3s) has been investigated from single crystal X-ray diffraction data. The primary focus is to investigate the molecular geometry of this compound in the solid state along with the associated inter and intra-molecular hydrogen bonding and related weak interactions present in this molecule. This compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with cell parameters, a = 8.1344(3) , b = 13.7392(4) , c = 11.4704(4) , β = 100.769(2), V = 1259.36 (7) 3, D = 1.352 g·cm–3, Z = 4. The molecular geometry is stabilized by intra-molecular N-H…O=C and C-H…O interactions along with intramolecular C-H…N and C-H…O interactions which contribute towards the stability of the crystal packing.

Aim: To analyse and assess the effect of dose rate of 192ir-source strength on late complications and local control rate during treatment of carcinoma cervix. Materials and Methods: One hundred and two cases of carcinoma cervix were included in the study. All patients were treated with a curative intent with radical dose of radiation as per the department protocol. All patients were treated with both EBRT plus Brachytherapy with Inj. Cisplatin 40 mg/m2 weekly. Patients were divided into 2 groups based on activity i.e. group A (10-6Ci) and group B (5-2Ci). After brachytherapy, point doses were analysed based on ICRU 38 recommendations. During follow up, morbidities were evaluated using RTOG grading system. Results: There was no difference in local control and distant metastasis in both groups after six months of follow up. Late Complications were comparable in both groups irrespective of source strength. Bladder complications were minimal with no significant difference in both study groups. Further Patients were divided into four groups i.e. BED of ICRU rectal point (3 and ≥100 Gy3) and source strength (10-6Ci and 5-2Ci), when BED was >100 Gy3 resulted in higher late rectal complication rate (P 3. Conclusion: This study suggests that change in source activity did not make a difference in local control, late rectal and bladder morbidities at 6 months of follow up. Longer follow up is required to assess long term results and morbidities.

Obesity is well recognized as a global public health concern and the quest continues to explore natural product-based novel therapeutics. Bauhinia purpurea finds its place in traditional medicine as an effective anti-ulcer, antiplatelet, wound healing and hypolipidemic agent. The present study investigated the effects of ethanolic extract of Bauhinia purpurea (EEB) on the changes in body weight, lean mass, fat free mass, fat percent, tissue and plasma lipid profiles, plasma glucose, insulin and insulin resistance as well as on the activity of amylase, lipase, leptin and adiponectin levels in high caloric diet (HCD) induced obese rats. After induction of obesity with HCD, rats were administered orally with EEB (100, 200 and 300 mg·kg-1 BW) or orlistat (5 mg·kg-1 BW) once daily for 42 days. HCD substantially increased the body weight, fat free mass, fat percent, glucose, insulin resistance, tissue and plasma lipid profiles (Except HDL), leptin and the activities of amylase and lipase. EEB at a dose of 300 mg·kg-1 BW exerted its therapeutic effects similar to orlistat in decreasing body weight, insulin resistance, levels of glucose, leptin, plasma and tissue lipids, lipase and amylase but increasing HDL and adiponectin in HCD fed obese rats, which could be due to bioactive factors present in EEB, as revealed by LC-Ms analysis. These findings suggest that EEB administration suppresses high-caloric-diet-induced obesity and it can be developed as a potential candidate for the treatment of obesity and associated complications.
