Analysis and formulation of spur gear stresses with different tip modifications

spur gears are widely used in the power transmission mechanism of several *** to the transmitted torque,spur gears experience high stresses which could cause gear tooth failure by surface pitting or root *** relief and other gear profile modification have been considered for reducing the induced stresses in the gear *** this work,the influence of tip relief on stresses on a pair of identical spur gear was analyzed using commercial FEA software ANsYs,and formulae for estimating contact and bending stresses were *** cases of gear sets were analyzed;a non-modified pair and another two sets with linear and parabolic tip relief *** non-modified gear set frictionless contact stress was validated against the calculated AGMA pitting resistance,Hertzian contact stress and a reported contact stress value in the *** four methods agreed well with each ***,bending stress was also compared with the AGMA bending strength and Lewis bending stress for ***,friction coefficient was varied from 0.0 to 0.3 with increment of *** gear contact stress increased up to 11%relative to the frictionless case,whereas bending stress decreased by 6%.Linear tip relief modification was carried out for increasing normalised tip relief values of 0.25 to 1.0 with increment of *** gear frictionless contact and bending stresses decreased by a maximum of 4%and 2%,*** contact stress increased by up to 7.1%and the bending stress is almost identical with the frictionless *** tip relief was also carried out with similar normalised tip relief *** contact stress decreased by 5%while frictional contact stress increased by up to 11.5%and the bending stress is also almost identical with the frictionless ***,four formulae were introduced for estimating the contact and bending stresses for a tip modified spur gear.

The captivating properties of supercapacitors(sCs) such as high power and reasonably high energy densities made them stand up as a versatile solution to emerging energy storage ***,everyone is in pursuit of improvisation of the energy storage characteristics of *** or manganese oxide(Mn_(3)O_(4)) is a widely studied electrode material considering its fascinating features such as high theoretical capacitance(1370 F/g),variable oxidization states,prominent Jahn-Teller effect,broad potential window,environmentally benign and cost-effectiveness.A lot of research has been carried out on this material to unfold and improve its electrochemical *** this review,comprehensive knowledge and innovative attempts taken to improve its energy storage of Mn_(3)O_(4)material are ***,the basic properties concerned with electrochemical charge storage such as valance states,crystal structure,band diagram and energy storage mechanism are discussed,followed by putting forth the limitations of Mn_(3)O_(4).Later on,various strategies adopted to improve the electrochemical attributes of Mn_(3)O_(4)such as making composite with carbon-based materials,metal-based materials,polymers or doping metal atoms are ***,remarks on key scientific points and perspectives for further development of energy storage in Mn_(3)O_(4)conclude this review.

Effect of Eu3+,Bi3+,and Li+ doping on luminescent property of GdNbO4

We investigated the emission properties of Eu3+-doped GdNbO4-based oxide phosphors,aiming at improving the Eu3+emission by codoping of Bi3+and Li+.Eu3+singly doped,Eu3+and Bi3+doubly doped,and Eu3+,Bi3+,and Li+triply doped GdNbO4were prepared using a high-temperature solid-state reaction *** red-orange emissions from Eu3+in the singly doped samples are significantly improved by the codoping of Bi3+,mainly due to the energy transfer from Bi3+to Eu3+.The additional codoping of Li+is found to increase the Eu3+emission *** improvement might be attributed to the increase in the photoluminescent quantum yield originating from larger grain sizes and better crystallinity.A detailed analysis of the X-ray diffraction pattern and the asymmetric ratio estimated from the photoluminescence spectra show that the local lattice environment around Eu3+in GdNbO4does not change significantly with the codoping of Bi3+and Li+.Our results indicate that Li+doping is a promising way to improve the emission properties of rare-earth ion-doped GdNbO4phosphors.

Characterization of early maturing elite genotypes based on MTsI and MGIDI indexes: an illustration in upland cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.)

Background Globally, the cultivation of cotton is constrained by its tendency for extended periods of growth. Early maturity plays a potential role in rainfed-based multiple cropping system especially in the current era of climate change. In the current study, a set of 20 diverse Gossypium hirsutum genotypes were evaluated in two crop seasons with three planting densities and assessed for 11 morphological traits related to early maturity. The study aimed to identify genotype(s) that mature rapidly and accomplish well under diverse environmental conditions based on the two robust multivariate techniques called multi-trait stability index(MTsI) and multi-trait genotype-ideotype distance index(MGIDI).Results MTsI analysis revealed that out of the 20 genotypes, three genotypes, viz., NNDC-30, A-2, and s-32 accomplished well in terms of early maturity traits in two seasons. Furthermore, three genotypes were selected using MGIDI method for each planting densities with a selection intensity of 15%. The strengths and weaknesses of the genotypes selected based on MGIDI method highlighted that the breeders could focus on developing early-maturing genotypes with specific traits such as days to first flower and boll opening. The selected genotypes exhibited positive genetic gains for traits related to earliness and a successful harvest during the first and second pickings. However, there were negative gains for traits related to flowering and boll *** The study identified three genotypes exhibiting early maturity and accomplished well under different planting densities. The multivariate methods(MTsI and MGIDI) serve as novel approaches for selecting desired genotypes in plant breeding programs, especially across various growing environments. These methods offer exclusive benefits and can easily construe and minimize multicollinearity issues.
