Designing high-gain observers(HGOs)for the state estimation of an electric vehicle’s electrohydraulic brake(EHB)system is *** type of observer is applicable to model nonlinearities and constant feature ***,they are very sensitive to measurement noise,which is unavoidable in *** first novelty of this study is that it compensates for the measurement noise using a filtered high-gain observer(FHGO)to ensure EHB state *** proposed FHGO provides an estimate of the master cylinder pressure,motor current,and rotor speed from measurements of the rotor *** second novelty is the design of an extremum-seeking(Es)optimization loop to adjust the FHGO gains *** performance of the developed FHGO with Es-based online gain optimization was highlighted in the presence of model uncertainties and output measurement noise using a Matlab/simulink *** superiority of the FHGO(even with a fixed gain)over a standard high gain observer(sHGO)was also demonstrated.

In this work,we report a class of wearable,stitchable,and sensitive carbon nanofiber(CNF)-polydimethylsiloxane(PDMs)composite-based piezoresistive sensors realized by carbonizing electrospun polyacrylonitrile(PAN)nanofibers and subsequently embedding in PDMs elastomeric thin ***-mechanical tactile sensing characterization of the resulting piezoresistive strain sensors revealed a linear response with an average force sensitivity of~1.82 kN−1 for normal forces up to 20 *** real-time functionality of the CNF-PDMs composite sensors in wearable body sensor networks and advanced bionic skin applications was demonstrated through human motion and gesture monitoring experiments.A skin-inspired artificial soft sensor capable of demonstrating proprioceptive and tactile sensory perception utilizing CNF bundles has been ***,a 16-point pressure-sensitive flexible sensor array mimicking slow adapting low threshold mechanoreceptors of glabrous skin was *** devices in tandem with neuromorphic circuits can potentially recreate the sense of touch in robotic arms and restore somatosensory perception in amputees.

High-speed router design for network on chip(HsRDN) is proposed for controlling the traffic congestion and deadlocks. Diagonal based nearest-path routing algorithm for No C(DNRAN) can mitigate the effect of latency by opting for the nearest-path to reach the destination in a network and HsRDN is part of DNRAN. When we analyze the performance of DNRAN for all proposed topologies, nearly 50% better in terms of latency reduction and high throughput over existing router architectures. The proposed topologies(2 D-mesh,2 D-star mesh over regional mesh(sMo RM), 3 D-mesh,and 3 D-torus) are tested with various applications, viz,audio, video and so on. Here, we also tested with cryptography application for DNRAN. When we analyzed the performance of experimental results, exclusively in 2 D-sMo RM nearly 0.6 times latency get reduced, area expanded by 0.25 and 0.33 times throughput increase in 2 D-sMo RM compared with 3 D-mesh and 3 ***, DNRAN showed an exclusive performance in 2 D-sMo RM compared with other two topologies.

Characterizing the influence of tide on the physico-chemical parameters and nutrient variability in the coastal surface water of the northern Bay of Bengal during the winter season

The spatial distribution of physico-chemical parameters（sea surface temperature（ssT）, p H, sea surface salinity（sss）, dissolved oxygen（DO） and secchi depth） along with filterable nutrients（dissolved inorganic nitrate（DIN）,dissolved inorganic phosphate（DIP） and reactive silicate（Dsi）） are measured in the winter months of November,December, January and February for four consecutive years from 2009–2010 to 2012–2013 on the shallow continental shelf（〈20 m bathymetry） of the coastal waters（up to 18 km away from shoreline） of the northern Bay of Bengal（n Bo B） during the highest high tide（HHT） and lowest low tide（LLT） hours for the first time. The variability of the coastal biogeochemical environment is assessed during the HHT and LLT hours and for this purpose, seawater samples are collected from seven different locations of a transect in the coastal region. Physicochemical parameters（except ssT） show significant difference in magnitude during the HHT and LLT hours respectively. p H, sss and DO are found to increase in the HHT hours and vice-versa. The data reveal that during the LLT hours, a relative increase of freshwater input in the n Bo B can have elevated the nutrient concentration compared with that observed during the HHT hours. The ratio of nutrient concentration is found to deviate significantly from the Redfield ratio. The abundance of DIP is much higher compared with that of DIN and *** anthropogenic sources of DIP from the upstream flow（especially the domestic effluent of several metropolises） can be mainly attributed behind such an observation. In order to characterize and establish the trend of such variation in such an important bio-climatic region, long-term and systematic ecosystem monitoring in the coastal water of the n Bo B northern Bay of Bengal should be carried out throughout the year.

This paper develops an adaptive neural network(NN)observer for proton-exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs).Indeed,information on the oxygen excess ratio(OER)value is crucial to ensure optimal management of the durability and reliability of the *** OER indicator is computed from the mass of oxygen and nitrogen inside the PEMFC ***,the measurement process of both these masses is difficult and *** solve this problem,the design of a PEMFC state observer is ***,the behaviour of the fuel cell system is highly non-linear and its modelling is *** to this constraint,a multilayer perceptron neural network(MLPNN)-based observer is proposed in this paper to estimate the oxygen and nitrogen *** notable advantage of the suggested MLPNN observer is that it does not require a database to train the ***,the weights of the NN are updated in real time using the output *** addition,the observer parameters,namely the learning rate and the damping factor,are online adapted using the optimization tools of extremum ***,the proposed observer stability analysis is performed using the Lyapunov *** observer performances are validated by simulation under MATLAB®/simulink®.The supremacy of the proposed adaptive MLPNN observer is highlighted by comparison with a fixed-parameter MLPNN observer and a classical high-gain observer(HGO).The mean rela-tive error value of the excess oxygen rate is considered the performance index,which is equal to 1.01%for an adaptive MLPNN and 3.95%and 9.95%for a fixed MLPNN and HGO,***,a robustness test of the proposed observer with respect to measurement noise is performed.

The exotic saltmarsh cordgrass,spartina alterniflora(Loisel)Peterson&saarela,is one of the important causes for the extensive destruction of mangroves in China due to its invasive *** species has rapidly spread wildly across coastal wetlands,challenging resource managers for control of its further *** investigation of *** invasion and associated ecological risk is urgent in China's coastal *** this study,an ecological risk invasive index system was developed based on the Driving Force-Pressure-state-Impact-Response *** were made of'warning degrees':zero warning and light,moderate,strong,and extreme warning,by developing a back propagation(BP)artificial neural network model for coastal wetlands in eastern Fujian *** results suggest that *** mainly has invaded Kandelia candel beaches and farmlands with clustered *** early warning indicator system assessed the ecological risk of the invasion and showed a ladder-like distribution from high to low extending from the urban area in the central inland region with changes spread to adjacent *** of light warning and extreme warning accounted for43%and 7%,respectively,suggesting the BP neural network model is reliable prediction of the ecological risk of *** *** model predicts that distribution pattern of this invasive species will change little in the next 10 ***,the invaded patches will become relatively more concentrated without warning *** suggest that human factors such as land use activities may partially determine changes in warning *** results emphasize that an early warning system for *** invasion in China's eastern coastal wetlands is significant,and comprehensive control measures are needed,particularly for *** beach.

Lithium-sulfur(Li-s)batteries,although a promising candidate of next-generation energy storage devices,are hindered by some bottlenecks in their roadmap toward *** key challenges include solving the issues such as low utilization of active materials,poor cyclic stability,poor rate performance,and unsatisfactory Coulombic efficiency due to the inherent poor electrical and ionic conductivity of sulfur and its discharged products(e.g.,Li2s2 and Li_(2)s),dissolution and migration of polysulfide ions in the electrolyte,unstable solid electrolyte interphase and dendritic growth on an odes,and volume change in both cathodes and *** to the high specific surface area,pore volume,low density,good chemical stability,and particularly multimodal pore sizes,hierarchical porous carbon(HPC)mate rials have received considerable attention for circumventing the above pro blems in Li-s ***,recent progress made in the synthetic methods and deployment of HPC materials for various components including sulfur cathodes,separators and interlayers,and lithium anodes in Li-s batteries is presented and *** importantly,the correlation between the structures(pore volume,specific surface area,degree of pores,and heteroatom-doping)of HPC and the electrochemical performances of Li-s batteries is ***,a discussion on the challenges and future perspectives associated with HPCs for Li-s batteries is provided.

Helicoverpa armigera is a key pest in many vital crops, which is mainly controlled by chemical strategies, To manage this pest is becoming challenging due to its ability and evolution of resistance against insecticides. Further, its subsequent spread on nonhost plant is remarkable in recent times. Hence, decoding resistance mechanism against phytochemicals and synthetic insecticides is a major challenge. The present work describes that the digestion, defense and immunity related enzymes are associated with chlorpyrifos resistance in 11. armigera. Proteomic analysis of/-/, armigera gut tissue upon feeding on chlorpyrifos containing diet （CH） and artificial diet （AD） using nano-liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry identified upregulated 23-proteins in CH fed larvae. Database searches combined with gene ontology analysis revealed that the identified gut proteins engrossed in digestion, proteins crucial for immunity, adaptive responses to stress, and detoxification. Biochemical and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction anal- ysis of candidate proteins indicated that insects were struggling to get nutrients and energy in presence of CH, while at the same time endeavoring to metabolize chlorpyrifos. More- over, we proposed a potential processing pathway of chlorpyrifos in H. armigera gut by examining the metabolites using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. 1f. armigera exhibit a range of intriguing behavioral, morphological adaptations and resistance to in- secticides by regulating expression of proteins involved in digestion and detoxification mechanisms to cope up with chlorpyrifos. In these contexts, as gut is a rich repository of biological information; profound analysis of gut tissues can give clues of detoxification and resistance mechanism in insects.

Maintaining healthy watershed is pivotal to ensure sustainability in water resources thereby improving the carrying capacity of the *** and identifying the spatial variability of hydrologically sensitive areas(HsAs)in a watershed is an important step to prioritizing the landscape to maintain water sustainability with limited resources.A spatial technique known as soil Topographic Index(sTI)was used to identify HsAs in the *** study was conducted in Clinton and Tewksbury Townships in New Jersey,United *** different scenarios(sTI>=9,sTI>=10,and sTI>=11)were conducted to understand the spatial distribution of HsAs in the *** following conclusions were derived from this ***,a more detail representation of HsAs in the watershed was observed when applying the sTI technique with a fine scale light detection and ranging(LiDAR)digitial elevation ***,all three scenarios consistently identified perennial stream corridors as HsAs;therefore,it is important to protect perennial stream corridors through implementation of various land use ***,this study analyzes the land use pattern of HsAs under the three scenarios and identifies the HsAs for high intensity land uses such as agriculture and urban to be the high priority locations for implementing best management practices for water quality *** procedures developed in this study can be applied to watersheds in other parts of the world with similar physiographic characteristics.
