This.paper pres.nts.a new computational method for forward uncertainty quantification(UQ)analys.s.on large-s.ale s.ructural s.s.ems.in the pres.nce of arbitrary and dependent random *** method cons.s.s.of a generalized polynomial chaos.expans.on(GPCE)for s.atis.ical moment and reliability analys.s.as.ociated with the s.ochas.ic output and a s.atic reanalys.s.method to generate the input-output data *** the reanalys.s.we employ s.bs.ructuring for a s.ructure to is.late its.local regions.that vary due to random *** allows.for avoiding repeated computations.of invariant s.bs.ructures.while generating the input-output data *** s.bs.ructuring with s.atic condens.tion further improves.the computational efficiency of the reanalys.s.without los.ng ***,the GPCE with the s.atic reanalys.s.method can achieve s.gnificant computational s.ving,thus.mitigating the curs. of dimens.onality to s.me degree for UQ under high-dimens.onal *** numerical res.lts.obtained from a s.mple s.ructure indicate that the propos.d method for UQ produces.accurate s.lutions.more efficiently than the GPCE us.ng full finite element analys.s.FEAs..We als. demons.rate the efficiency and s.alability of the propos.d method by executing UQ for a large-s.ale wing-box s.ructure under ten-dimens.onal(all-dependent)random inputs.

Us.ng dis.ocation-bas.d cons.itutive modeling in three-dimens.on crys.al plas.icity finite element(3D CPFE)s.mulations.co-deformation and ins.ability of hetero-phas. interface in different material s.s.ems.were herein s.udied for polycrys.alline metal matrix compos.tes.MMCs..Local s.res. and s.rain fields.in two types.of 3layer MMCs.s.ch as.fcc/fcc Cu-Ag and fcc/bcc Cu-Nb have been predicted under s.mple compres.ive ***,more s.vere s.rain-induced interface ins.ability can be obs.rved in the fcc/bcc s.s.ems.than in the fcc/fcc s.s.ems.upon refining to metallic nanolayered compos.tes.MNCs..By detailed analys.s.of s.res. and s.rain localization,it has.been demons.rated that the interface ins.ability is.always.accompanied by high-s.res. concentration,i.e.,thermodynamic characteris.ics.or high s.rain prevention i.e.,kinetic characteris.ics.at the hetero-phas. *** then follows.that the thermodynamic driving forceG and the kinetic energy barrier Q during dis.ocation and s.ear banding can be adopted to clas.ify the deformation modes.following the s.-called thermo-kinetic *** by ins.rting a high dens.ty of high-energy interfaces.into the Cu-Nb compos.tes.s.ch thermo-kinetic integration at the hetero-phas. interface allows.a s.cces.ful es.ablis.ment of MMCs.with the high△G-high Q deformation mode,which ens.res.high hardening and uniform s.rain dis.ri-bution,thus.efficiently s.ppres.ing the s.ear band,s.abilizing the hetero-phas. interface,and obtaining an exceptional combination in s.rength and *** hetero-phas. interface chos.n by a couple of thermodynamics.and kinetics.can be defined as.breaking the thermo-kinetic correlation and has.been propos.d for artificially des.gning MNCs.

The s.s.ile drop method was.applied to the experimental inves.igation of the wetting and s.reading behaviors.of liquid Mg drops.on pure Ni *** comparis.n,the experiments.were performed in two variants.(1)us.ng the Capillary Purification(CP)procedure,which allows.the non-contact heating and s.ueezing of a pure oxide-free Mg drop;(2)by clas.ical Contact Heating(CH)*** high-temperature tes.s.were performed under is.thermal conditions.CP:760℃for 30 s.CH:715℃for 300 s.us.ng Ar+5 wt%H_(2) *** the s.s.ile drop tes.s.images.of the Mg/Ni couples.were recorded by CCD cameras.57 fps.,which were then applied to calculate the contact angles.of metal/s.bs.rate *** and trans.is.ion electron micros.opy analys.s.both coupled with energy-dis.ers.ve X-ray s.ectros.opy,were us.d for detailed s.ructural characterization of the s.lidified *** was.found that an oxide-free Mg drop obtained by the CP procedure s.owed a wetting phenomenon on the Ni s.bs.rate(an average contact angleθs.,followed by fas. s.reading and good wetting over the Ni s.bs.rate(θ_((CP))~20°in 5 s.to form a final contact angle ofθ_(f(CP))~18°.In contras.,a different wetting behavior was.obs.rved for the CH procedure,where the unavoidable primary oxide film on the Mg s.rface blocked the s.reading of liquid Mg s.owing apparently non-wetting behavior after 300 s.contact at the tes. ***,in both cas.s.the deep craters.formed in the Ni s.bs.rates.under the Mg drops.and s.gnificant change in the s.ructure of initially pure Mg drops.to Mg-Ni alloys.s.gges. a s.rong dis.olution of Ni in liquid Mg and apparent values.of the final contact angles.meas.red for the Mg/Ni s.s.em.

The s.perplas.ic behavior and as.ociated deformation mechanis.s.of a fine-grained Mg-10.1 Li-0.8Al-0.6Zn alloy(LAZ1011)with a grain s.ze of 3.2μm,primarily compos.d of the BCCβphas. and a s.all amount of the HCPαphas.,were examined in a temperature range of 473 K to 623 *** micros.ructural refinement of this.alloy was.achieved by employing high-ratio differential s.eed *** bes. s.perplas.icity was.achieved at 523 K and at s.rain rates.of 10^(-4)-5×10^(-4)s.(-1),where tens.le elongations.of 550±600%were *** the heating and holding s.age of the tens.le s.mples.prior to tens.le loading,a s.gnificant increas. in grain s.ze was.obs.rved at temperatures.above 573 ***,it was.important to cons.der this.effect when analyzing and unders.anding the s.perplas.ic deformation behavior and *** the inves.igated s.rain rate range,the s.perplas.ic flow at low s.rain rates.was.governed by lattice diffus.on-controlled grain boundary s.iding,while at high s.rain rates.lattice diffus.on-controlled dis.ocation climb creep was.the rate-controlling deformation *** was.concluded that s.lute drag creep is.unlikely to *** the late s.ages.of deformation at 523 K,it was.obs.rved that grain boundary s.iding led to the agglomeration of theαphas.,res.lting in s.gnificant s.rain *** mechanis. maps.were cons.ructed forβ-Mg-Li alloys.in the form of 2D and 3D formats.as.a function of s.rain rate,s.res.,temperature,and grain s.ze,us.ng the cons.itutive equations.for various.deformation mechanis.s.derived bas.d on the data of the current tes.s.

This.work explored pos.ibilities.of biodegradable magnes.um alloy Mg-3Y preparation by two modern powder metallurgy techniques.s.ark plas.a s.ntering(s.s.and s.lective las.r melting(s.M).The powder material was.cons.lidated by both methods.utilis.ng optimis.d parameters.which led to very low poros.ty(∼0.3%)in the s.M material and unmeas.rably low poros.ty in the s.s.*** main aim of the s.udy was.the thorough micros.ructure characteris.tion and interrelation between the micros.ructure and the functional properties.s.ch as.mechanical s.rength,deformability,and corros.on *** materials.s.owed comparable s.rength of∼110 MPa in tens.on and compres.ion and relatively good deformability of∼9%and∼21%for the s.M and s.s.materials.*** corros.on res.s.ance of the s.s.material in 0.1 M NaCl s.lution was.s.perior to the s.M one and comparable to the conventional extruded *** digital image correlation during loading and the cros.-s.ction analys.s.of the corros.on layers.revealed that the res.dual poros.ty and large s.rained grains.have the dominant negative effect on the functional properties.of the s.M *** the other hand,one of the primary outcomes.of this.s.udy is.that the s.s.cons.lidation method is.very effective in the preparation of the W3 biodegradable alloy,res.lting in material with convenient mechanical and degradation properties.that might find practical applications.
