The world around us is evolving. We are living inside evolution. As a practicing architect I find nothing more natural than to look around me and implement relevant changes into my own profession. Taking this seriously means implementing new digital technologies in the very fabric of design methods, from the first conceptual thought and from the first accurately described design proposal. Mass production is soon to be overhauled by the principles of customization, in the form of both industrial mass customization and in the form of distributed small scale household fabrication. Customization, which is the modern made to measure, will change architecture from its very foundations. A completely new esthetic will be the natural outcome of the digital parametric design process that connects the file to factory CNC production methods-- a new kind of beauty for a new kind of building. Comptexity based on simple rules characterizes the dramatic paradigm shift from mass production to customization. The new kind of building is complex yet systemic in its design method. The new kind of building dramatically enhances the potential of today＇s architectural expression while keeping strict control on its data, including costs. Truly nonstandard architecture is cost-effective and simply complex.

Violence toward emergency physicians: A prospective-descriptive study

BACKGROUND: The highest rate of workplace violence occurs in the health sector, although most cases remain unreported. Emergency services face the majority of these incidents for many reasons, such as the patient profile, long waiting time, and overcrowding. We aimed to determine the characteristics and causes of violence toward emergency physicians. METHODs: The acts of violence toward emergency physicians over a one-year period were prospectively recorded. After a violent incident took place, a third party separately interviewed the physician exposed to the violent behavior and the perpetrator who displayed this behavior. We examined the perpetrator's reasons for violence, their demographic characteristics, and the medical complaints of patients involved in such events to determine the characteristics and causes of ***: Of the violent acts investigated, 85.1% were verbal, and most were directed toward male doctors by the young male relatives of the patients. More than half of the violent acts occurred within the 15 minutes of presentation to emergency service(60.5%) and at off-hours(69.4%). Concerning the health insurance, 20.4% of the cases were covered by the free green card system, and a small number of the perpetrators of violence lived in rural areas(38.2%). The most common reason for violent behavior was the patients' or their relatives' dissatisfaction with the examination or treatment method(38.2%).CONCLUsIONs: Appropriate communication should be established with the patients, and they should be adequately informed about the treatments and interventions to be performed in order to prevent possible acts of violence.

Despite medical treatment,the lethality of severe acute pancreatitis is still high (20-30%).Therefore,it is very important to find good animal models to characterise the events of this severe *** 1984,Mizunuma et al. developed a new type of experimental necrotizing pancreatitis by intraperitoneal administration of a high dose of L-arginine in *** non-invasive model is highly reproducible and produces selective,dose-dependent acinar cell necrosis. Not only is this a good model to study the pathomechanisms of acute necrotizing pancreatitis,but it is also excellent to observe and influence the time course changes of the *** writing this review we iluminate some new aspects of cell physiology and pathology of acute necrotizing ***,the reviews about acute experimental pancreatitis usually did not discuss this model. Therefore,the aim of this manuscript was to summarise the observations and address some challenges for the future in L-arginine-induced pancreatitis.

X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAs)is a widely used materials characterization technique to determine oxidation states,coordination environment,and other local atomic structure *** of XAs relies on comparison of measured spectra to reliable reference ***,existing databases of XAs spectra are highly limited both in terms of the number of reference spectra available as well as the breadth of chemistry *** this work,we report the development of XAsdb,a large database of computed reference XAs,and an Ensemble-Learned spectra IdEntification(ELsIE)algorithm for the matching of *** currently hosts more than 800,000 K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge spectra(XANEs)for over 40,000 materials from the open-science Materials Project *** discuss a high-throughput automation framework for FEFF calculations,built on robust,rigorously benchmarked *** is a computer program uses a real-space Green’s function approach to calculate X-ray absorption *** will demonstrate that the ELsIE algorithm,which combines 33 weak“learners”comprising a set of preprocessing steps and a similarity metric,can achieve up to 84.2% accuracy in identifying the correct oxidation state and coordination environment of a test set of 19 K-edge XANEs spectra encompassing a diverse range of chemistries and crystal *** XAsdb with the ELsIE algorithm has been integrated into a web application in the Materials Project,providing an important new public resource for the analysis of XAs to all materials ***,the ELsIE algorithm itself has been made available as part of veidt,an open source machine-learning library for materials science.

Frequency and Factors Associated with Gender-Based Violence in the Northern Region of Benin from 2016 to 2022

Introduction: Gender-based violence constitutes a public health problem. The objective of this study is to determine the frequency and factors associated with gender-based violence. study Framework and Method: This was a retrospective, descriptive, cross-sectional study with an analytical aim over the period from January 2016 to December 2022. The study took place in the Integrated support Center for Victims and survivors of Gender-Based Violence located in the Departmental University Hospital Center of Borgou and Alibori. The study population consisted of people who were victims of gender-based violence in the northern region of Benin, regardless of their age and gender. Results: The study population consisted of 1198 subjects. The average age of the victims was 21.76 ± 10.02;female victims represented 96.4%, with a sex ratio equal to 0.037 (43/1155). sexual violence was the most represented (50.25%), followed by psychological (29.30%), physical (24.37%), economic (13.77%) and property (2%). The factors associated with violence were married people and monthly income (physical violence), minors, female gender and single people (sexual violence), polygamous households and monthly income (economic violence), the absence of children burden, married people and monthly income (psychological violence), married people (property violence). Conclusion: Gender-based violence is frequent in the North of Benin and is dominated by sexual violence. The victims are mainly female.

The effects of sand encroachment on composition,diversity,and functional patterns of vegetation in drylands are rarely studied,and yet addressing these aspects is important to deepen our understanding of the biodiversity *** study aimed to investigate the effect of sand encroachment on plant functional biodiversity of desert pavements(gravel deserts)in the sahara Desert of *** were sampled and analyzed in three desert pavements with different levels of sand encroachment(LsE)and quantity of aeolian deposits(low,LLsE;medium,MLsE;and high,HLsE).Within the sample-plot area(100 m^(2)),density of every plant species was identified and total vegetation cover was *** taxonomic and functional diversity were analyzed and compared between *** showed that 19 plant species in desert pavements were classified into 18 genera and 13 *** and Poaceae were the most important *** species Anabasis articulata(Forssk)*** LLsE desert pavements with 11 species,whereas Thymelaea microphylla Coss.&Durieu ex *** Calobota saharae(C&D)Boatwr.&van Wyk were dominant species of desert pavements with MLsE(14 species)and HLsE(10 species),*** highest values of species richness and biodiversity were recorded in desert pavements with MLsE,while low values of these ecological parameters were obtained in desert pavements with *** pavements with LLsE were characterized with the highest values of species *** communities were dominated by chamaephytes,anemochorous,arido-active,and competitive stress-tolerant *** increase in LsE along the gradient from LLsE to HLsE induced significant changes in plant community variables including decreases in plant density,plant rarity,lifeform composition,morphological type,and aridity *** pavements with HLsE favor the degradation of vegetation and trigger biodiversity erosion.

Ammonium perchlorate(AP)includes oxidizing and reducing elements on the same *** can act as an efficient oxidizer and mono-propellant as *** this study,AP experienced crystallographic phase change from orthorhombic centrosymmetric to non-centrosymmetric under controlled isothermal heat *** diffractograms confirmed this crystallographic phase *** thermal behaviour of activated AP had been investigated using *** AP demonstrated high chemical stability with an increase in endothermic phase transition enthalpy by 170%.The enthalpy of the subsequent two main exothermic decomposition reactions was increased by 250%.Whereas AP demonstrated total decomposition enthalpy of 733 J/g,activated AP showed 2614 J/*** AP can secure self-sustained response at a high *** index(combustion enthalpy/ignition temperature)was employed to assess self-sustained reaction *** AP demonstrated high propagation index of 8.7 compared with 2.5 for un-activated *** decomposition kinetic parameters had investigated using Kissinger and kas *** AP showed an increase in activation energy by 89%using the Kissinger method;kinetic parameters using the kas method were in good agreement with the Kissinger *** can have concluded that AP with novel kinetic decomposition parameters for enhanced safety storage and high combustion characteristics has evolved.
