Thrombosis and inflammation are primary contributors to the onset and progression of ischemic *** contact-kinin pathway,initiated by plasma kallikrein(PK)and activated factor XII(FXIIa),functions bidirectionally with the coagulation and inflammation cascades,providing a novel target for therapeutic drug development in ischemic *** this study,we identified a bat-derived oligopeptide from Myotis myotis(Borkhausen,1797),designated LE6(Leu-ser-Glu-Glu-Pro-Glu,702 Da),with considerable potential in stroke therapy due to its effects on the contact kinin ***,LE6 demonstrated significant inhibitory effects on PK and FXIIa,with inhibition constants of 43.97μmol/L and 6.37μmol/L,*** vitro analyses revealed that LE6 prolonged plasma recalcification time and activated partial thromboplastin *** murine models,LE6 effectively inhibited carrageenan-induced mouse tail thrombosis,FeCl3-induced carotid artery thrombosis,and photochemically induced intracerebral ***,LE6 significantly decreased inflammation and stroke injury in transient middle cerebral artery occlusion ***,the low toxicity,hemolytic activity,and bleeding risk of LE6,along with its synthetic simplicity,underscore its clinical *** conclusion,as an inhibitor of FXIIa and PK,LE6 offers potential therapeutic benefits in stroke treatment by mitigating inflammation and preventing thrombus formation.

Injecting carbon dioxide(CO_(2))into coal seams may unlock substantial carbon sequestration *** the coal acts like a carbon filter,it can preferentially absorb significant amounts of CO_(2).To explore this further,desorption of the adsorbed gas due to pressure drop is investigated in this paper,to achieve an improved understanding of the long-term fate of injected CO_(2) during post-injection *** paper presents a dual porosity model coupling gas flow,adsorption and geomechanics for studying coupled processes and effectiveness of CO_(2) sequestration in coals.A new adsorption?desorption model derived based on thermodynamics is incorporated,particularly,the desorption hysteresis is *** reliability of the proposed adsorption-desorption isotherm is examined via validation *** is indicated that occurrence of desorption hysteresis is attributed to the adsorption-induced pore *** injection ceases,the injected gas continues to propagate further from the injection well,while the pressure in the vicinity of the injection well experiences a significant *** the adsorbed gas near the well also decreases,this decrease is less compared to that in pressure because of desorption *** unceas.ng spread of CO_(2) and drops of pressure and adsorbed gas depend on the degree of desorption hysteresis and heterogeneity of coals,which should be considered when designing CO_(2) sequestration into coal seams.

In this study,a new image-based method for the extraction and characterization of pore-throat network for unconventional hydrocarbon storage and exploitation is proposed.“Pore-throat solidity”,which is analogous to particle solidity,and a new method for automatic identification of pores and throats in tight sandstone oil reservoirs are ***,the“pore-throat combination”and“pure pore”are defined and distinguished by drawing the cumulative probability curve of the pore-throat solidity and by selecting an appropriate cutoff *** the discrete grid set is recognized as a pore-throat combination,Legendre ellipse fitting and minimum Feret diameter are *** the pore and throat grid sets are identified as pure pores,the pore diameter can be directly *** the new method,the analytical results for the physical parameters and pore radius agree well with most prior *** results comparing the maximum ball and the new model could also prove the accuracy of the latter's in micro and nano *** new model provides a more practical theoretical basis and a new calculation method for the rapid and accurate evaluation of the complex processes of oil migration.

Variations in ice mass deform the Earth and modify its gravity field,a process known as Glacial Isostatic Adjustment(GIA).GIA in Antarctica remains poorly constrained due to the cumulative effect of past and present ice-mass changes,the unknown history of the past ice-mass change,and the uncertainties on the mechanical properties of the *** paper investigates the effect of us.ng Andrade and Burgers viscoelastic rheologies,rather than the commonly used Maxwell rheology,to model GIA-induced deformation in *** Love number and Green's function formalism are used to compute the radial surface displacements and the gravity changes induced by the past and present ice-mass *** consider an Earth model whose elastic properties and radial structure are averaged from the Preliminary Reference Earth Model and two viscosity profiles to account for the recently published results on the present ice-mass *** the three rheological laws affects the temporal response of the Earth differently,leading to smaller discrepancies than those induced by the two viscosity *** differences are the largest between Maxwell and Burgers rheologies during the 100-1000 years following the beginning of the surface-mass *** show that us.ng the Andrade and Burgers rheologies allows the Earth to respond on decennial to centennial time scales,up to 10 m more than *** only the recent ice-mass changes,the deformation rates derived from Burgers and Andrade rheologies are several times larger than those estimated by Maxwell rheology.

Circular RNAs(circRNAs)are a class of covalently closed s.ngle-stranded RNAs that are expressed during the development of specific cells and *** play crucial roles in physiological and pathological processes by sponging microRNAs,modulating gene transcription,controlling the activity of certain RNA-binding proteins,and producing functional peptides.A key focus of research at present is the functionality of circRNAs in the nervous system and several advances have emerged over the last 2 ***,the precise role of circRNAs in the nervous system has yet to be comprehensively *** this review,we first summarize the recently described roles of circRNAs in brain development,maturity,and ***,we focus on the involvement of circRNAs in various diseases of the central nervous system,such as brain cancer,chronic neurodegenerative diseases,acute injuries of the nervous system,and neuropathic pain.A better understanding of the functionality of circRNAs will help us to develop potential diagnostic,prognostic,and therapeutic strategies to treat diseases of the nervous system.

The systematic investigation of the mechanical properties and microstructure evolution process of ultra-thin-walled Inconel 718 capillary brazing joints is of great significance because of the exceptionally high demands on its *** achieve this objective,this study investigates the impact of three distinct brazing temperatures and five typical grain sizes on the brazed joints’mechanical properties and microstructure evolution *** evolution analysis was conducted based on Electron Back scatter Diffraction(EBsD),scanning Electron Microscopy(sEM),X-Ray Diffraction(XRD),High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy(HRTEM),and Focused Ion Beam(FIB).Besides,the mechanical properties and fracture behavior were studied based on the uniaxial tension tests and in-situ tension *** findings reveal that the brazing joint’s strength is higher for the fine-grain capillary than the coarse-grain one,primarily due to the formation of a dense branch structure composed of G-phase in the brazing *** effects of grain size,such as pinning and splitting,are amplified at higher brazing ***,micro-cracks initiate around brittle intermetallic compounds and propagate through the eutectic zone,leading to a cleavage fracture *** fracture stress of fine-grain specimens is higher than that of coarse-grain due to the complex micro-crack ***,this study contributes significantly to the literature by highlighting the crucial impact of grain size on the brazing properties of ultra-thin-walled Inconel 718 structures.
