sorption of uranium(Ⅵ) from aqueous solutions by DEEA organovolcanic: isotherms, kinetic and thermodynamic studies

The sorption of the uranium(VI) ions from aqueous solutions by diethylethanolammonium organovolcanics(Kula-TURKEY) was investigated under different experimental conditions. DEEA was used to modify the surface of basaltic volcanics. The characteristic of basaltic volcanic was analyzed by XRF, sEM–EDs, FTIR, and XRD. The BET surface areas of unmodified volcanics and DEEA-modified volcanics were found as 2.265 and3.689 m^2/g, respectively. The volcanic samples were treated by using different concentrations of DEEA. The adsorption of U(VI) on natural and modified volcanics was examined as a function of the contact time, initial p H of the solution, initial U(VI) concentration, and ***, Freundlich, and D–R adsorption isotherms were used to describe the adsorption. While examining the adsorption percentage and distribution coefficient, these values for unmodified volcanics were found to be25% ± 0.76 and 10.08 m L/g, while the values for the DEEA-modified volcanics were 88% ± 1.04 and 220 m L/g, respectively. The pseudo-first-order and pseudo-secondorder kinetic models were used to describe the kinetic *** this study, it can be seen that the adsorption process is suitable for the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Various thermodynamic parameters(ΔG°, ΔH°, and Δs°) were calculated with the thermodynamic distribution coefficients obtained at different temperatures. The sorption process was a chemical adsorption process. The results indicated that the processes are spontaneous and endothermic.

Autologous omentum transposition for regeneration of a renal injury model in rats

Background:After renal trauma,surgical treatment is vital,but sometimes there may be loss of function due to *** study aimed to evaluate the effect of autologous omentum flaps on injured renal tissues in a rat ***:A total of 30 Wistar albino rats were included and randomly divided equally into a control group and four intervention *** renal injuries were repaired using a surgical technique(primary repair 1 group and primary repair 2 group)or transposition of the autologous omentum(omentum repair 1 group and omentum repair 2 group).Blood samples were taken preoperatively and on the 1st and 7th postoperative days in all groups and on the 18th postoperative day in the control and two intervention *** rats were sacrificed on the 7th or 18th day postoperatively,and their right kidneys were taken for histopathological ***:The mean urea level significantly decreased from day 1 to day 7 and from day 1 to day 18 in the omentum repair 2 group(P=0.005 and P=0.004,respectively).There were no other significant changes in urea or creatinine levels within the intervention groups(P>0.05).There was no significant correlation between the urea and creatinine levels and the histological scores(P>0.05).The primary repair 1 and 2 groups had significantly higher median granulation and inflammation scores in the kidney specimen than the control and omentum repair groups(Psignificantly lower median granulation and inflammation scores in the surrounding tissues than the primary repair 2 group(Pscore for the healing process in the kidney specimen was significantly higher in the omentum repair groups than in the primary repair groups(Psignificantly lower median granulation and inflammation scores in the surrounding tissues than the primary repair 2 group(Pspecimen was strongly and positively correlated

Method for the determination of polonium-210 in tea samples using response surface methodology(RsM)

The method based on solvent parameters(mass,cycle of acidification, and autodeposition time), combined with response surface methodology(RsM) modeling and optimization, has been developed for maximizing ^(210)Po activity in tea samples, as observed by an alpha spectrometer. RsM based on 3-factor and 5-level composite center design was used to obtain the optimal combination of solvent conditions. As solvent parameters for ^(210)Po activity, different masses(0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.5, and 2 g), different cycles of acidification(2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 times), and different autodeposition times(2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 h) were studied. The 3D response surface plot and the contour plot derived from the mathematical models were used to determine the optimal conditions. According to the obtained results, the experimental value of ^(210)Po activity was in good agreement(R^2=0.96) with the value predicted by the model. We found a favorable effect of mass on the ^(210)Po activity(p\0.05).

An Inquiry into the Determinants of the Exports of China and India

Regression analysis is used to tease out the relative significance of influences on the supply and demand for the exports of China and India. On the supply side, the value-added tax in China has discouraged export supply. The elimination of the rebate on those taxes will discourage exports. Higher wages discourage exports, but the share of exports by foreign invested enterprise is a positive influence, as is a higher share of value added in output and greater experience in exporting. On the demand side, exports depend in part on aggregate income levels in importing countries. Relative wages have been more important than exchange rates in determining the demands for Chinese and Indian exports. This evidence does not support the pressures for a devaluation of the RMB. There is also evidence of the positive significance of the accustomization of purchasers to buying Chinese exports.

slope stability evaluation and monitoring of a landslide: a case study from NE Turkey

Landslides are quite common natural hazards in the eastern Black sea region of NE *** the heavy rainfall in the K?prülü(Rize)village settlement area,located in this region where the slope debris overlies the agglomerates,a failure *** to the developed tension cracks and deformations on the ground,houses,tea gardens,and roads were damaged *** figure out the causes and mechanism of the sliding and to suggest the precautions,a detailed geotechnical study was carried *** the five survey lines,twelve boreholes were drilled with a total depth of 300 ***,the geophysical surveys on ten profiles were conducted and the inclinometer measurements were taken in five *** and disturbed samples were collected and laboratory experiments were *** measurements indicated that the sliding started in the slope debris and then spread to the agglomeratic *** slope stability was examined using the limit equilibrium(LE)and finite element(FEM)analysis *** results of the slope stability analyses showed that the failure mode is talus slide with composite shape and outputs coincide with the inclinometer monitoring *** on the collected data,it is determined that there will be unavoidable engineering problems if no precautions are *** of the negative reasons which make the application of supporting methods meaningless in the study area,it is considered that transferring the residences to a safer place without risk of natural hazards will be economical and reliable.
