The hazardous environmental effects of greenhouse gas emissions and climate change demand alternative sources for cementitious materials in the construction *** development of geopolymer structures provides a way of producing 100%cement-free *** this research work,a novel and simple way of deriving nano particles from waste fly ash particles is *** effect of adding the synthesized nano fly ash particles as a filler medium in geopolymer mortars was investigated by considering strength and durability *** optimization was done by using regression analysis on the geopolymer mortar and the impact of adding nano fly ash particles was studied by varying different percentages of addition ranging from 0 to 7.5%by weight of binder *** the results,it was observed that 1%nano fly ash acted not only as a filler but also as nano-sized precursors of the polymerization process,resulting in denser geopolymer *** can explain the extraordinary gain in strength of 72.11 mPa as well as the denser core with negligible level of chloride ion penetration,making the material suitable for the development of structures susceptible to marine environment.

When confronted with ecological challenges,trading ecologically friendly products involving renewable technologies,green management practices,and effluent treatment methods could alleviate ecological degradation on a global scale while considering the macroeconomic policy ***,this study determines the effectiveness of fiscal and monetary policy instruments in moderating the relationship between green trade openness(i.e.,trade in environmentally related products)and ecological *** panel quantile regression on data from 20 OECD members from 2003 to 2016,we found that green trade openness supports ecological sustainability through a gains-from-trade *** moderation effects,expenditure-driven fiscal expansion reinforces the favorable influence of green trade openness on ecological sustainability across ecologically less/moderately efficient economies,while it does the reverse for ecologically more efficient ***-driven fiscal contraction promotes ecological sustainability amelioration impact of green trade openness for economies with belowaverage ecological quality and remains neutral for those with average/above-average ecological ***,interest rate-driven monetary contraction proliferates the ecological sustainability enhancement effect of green *** suggest that the fiscal and monetary policies demand unambiguous coordination with the OECD’s trade policy structure for optimal environmental outcomes of trading in environmental *** insights would help OECD’s green trade policies gain momentum to facilitate the attainment of the Climate Action agenda of the United Nations’sustainable Development Goals.

Plant roots and their associated mycorrhizal fungi critically mediate the decomposition of soil organic carbon(C),but the general patterns of their impacts over a broad geographical range and the primary mediating factors remain *** on a synthesis of 596 paired observations from both field and greenhouse experiments,we found that living roots and/or mycorrhizal fungi increased organic C decomposition by 30.9%,but low soil nitrogen(N)availability(i.e.,high soil C:N ratio)critically mitigated this promotion *** addition,the positive effects of living roots and/or mycorrhizal fungi on organic C decomposition were higher under herbaceous and leguminous plants than under woody and non-leguminous plants,***,there was no significant difference between arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and ectomycorrhizal fungi in their effects on organic C ***,roots and/or mycorrhizal fungi significantly enhanced the decomposition of leaf litter but not root *** findings advance our understanding of how roots and their symbiotic fungi modulate soil C dynamics in the rhizosphere or mycorrhizosphere and may help improve predictions of soil global C balance under a changing climate.

As the most economically developed metropolitan area in China’s Yangtze River Delta,the rapid changing land use patterns of suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou(su-Xi-Chang) metropolitan area have profound impacts on the ecosystem service value(EsV).Based on the patterns of land use change and the EsV change in su-Xi-Chang metropolitan area from 2000 to 2020,we set up four scenarios:natural development scenario,urban development scenario,arable land protection scenario and ecological protection scenario,and simulated the impact of land use changes on the EsV in these *** results showed that:1) the area of built-up land in the su-XiChang metropolitan area increased significantly from 2000 to 2020,and the area of other types of land *** land underwent the highest transfer-out area,and was primarily converted into built-up *** total EsV of su-Xi-Chang metropolitan area increased initially then declined from 2000–2020,and the value of almost all individual ecosystem services decreased.2) Population density,GDP per area,night lighting intensity,and road network density can negatively impact the EsV.3) The total EsV loss under the natural development and urban development scenarios was high,and the expansion of the built-up land and the drastic shrinkage of the arable land contributed to the EsV decline under both *** total EsV under arable land protection and ecological protection scenarios increases,and therefore these scenarios are suitable for future land use optimization in *** study could provide a certain reference for land use planning and allocation,and offer guidance for the rational allocation of land resources.

The onset of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is usually characterized by focal death of both upper and/or lower motor neurons occurring in the motor cortex,basal ganglia,brainstem,and spinal cord,and commonly involves the muscles of the upper and/or lower extremities,and the muscles of the bulbar and/or respiratory ***,as the disease progresses,it affects the adjacent body regions,leading to generalized muscle weakness,occasionally along with memory,cognitive,behavioral,and language impairments;respiratory dysfunction occurs at the final stage of the *** disease has a complicated pathophysiology and currently,only riluzole,edaravone,and phenylbutyrate/taurursodiol are licensed to treat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in many industrialized *** TAR DNA-binding protein 43 inclusions are observed in 97%of those diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral *** review provides a preliminary overview of the potential effects of TAR DNAbinding protein 43 in the pathogenesis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,including the abnormalities in nucleoplasmic transport,RNA function,post-translational modification,liquid-liquid phase separation,stress granules,mitochondrial dysfunction,oxidative stress,axonal transport,protein quality control system,and non-cellular autonomous functions(e.g.,glial cell functions and prion-like propagation).

sedimentation is a key process affecting wetland sustainability and carbon burial *** context of sea level rise,climate change and human activities,further understanding about the sedimentary dynamic in wetland is critical in predicting the landscape evolution or the change in carbon burial *** this study,based on the field hydrological observation in a mangrove system in the Nanliu River estuary,we found the net flux of suspended sediment to mangrove is 39−72 kg/m in tidal cycles with Turbidity maximum Zone(TmZ)forming in surface layer and only is 9−18 kg/m in tidal cycles without *** higher net flux of suspended sediment to mangrove in tidal cycles with TmZ forming in surface layer is attributed to high ssC in rising tide and intense flocculation in *** significant discrepancy in sedimentation rate in the mangrove patches also can be explained by the probability of TmZ forming in the surface layer of *** future,rapid sea level rising may lead to the change of TmZ pattern in estuary,which will result in non-negligible variation in sedimentation rate in *** to the present data of sedimentation rate in wetlands,the fragility of wetlands in river estuary may be miscalculated.

Accurately predicting stock returns is a conundrum in financial *** this conundrum can bring huge economic benefits for investors and also attract the attention of all circles of *** this paper the authors combine semi-varying coefficient model with technical analysis and statistical learning,and propose semi-varying coefficient panel data model with individual effects to explore the dynamic relations between the stock returns from five companies:CVX,DFs,EmN,LYB,and mET and five technical indicators:CCI,EmV,mOm,ln ATR,ln RsI as well as closing price(ln CP),combine semi-parametric fixed effects estimator,semi-parametric random effects estimator with the testing procedure to distinguish fixed effects(FE) from random effects(RE),and finally apply the estimated dynamic relations and the testing set to predict stock returns in December 2020 for the five *** proposed method can accommodate the varying relationship and the interactive relationship between the different technical indicators,and further enhance the prediction accuracy to stock returns.

Recent years have seen increasing academic interest in exploring the correlation between temperature and ***,it is uncertain whether similar long-term trends or seasonality(rather than causal effect)of temper-ature and crime is the major reason for the observed correlation between *** explore whether there is still a correlation between temperature and crime when long-term trends and seasonal cycles are filtered out,we use the Kalman filter to decompose the time series of temperature and crimes,and then the fast Fourier transform is used to calculate the exact circle of their seasonality *** on that,the box-plot method and linear regression are used to explore the correlation between temperature residuals and crime *** results show that more than half of the crime types have similar seasonal cycles(approximately 1 year)to that of ***,the daily residual analyses show that temperature residuals have a positive correlation with assault and robbery residuals in all cities,whose average slopes are more than *** other four types of crimes vary greatly from case to *** temperature residuals show a weak correlation with the residuals of some crime types.

Based on the generalized Hamilton's principle,the nonlinear governing equation of an axially functionally graded(AFG)pipe is *** non-trivial equilibrium configuration is superposed by the modal functions of a simply supported *** the direct multi-scale method,the response and stability boundary to the pulsating fluid velocity are solved analytically and verified by the differential quadrature element method(DQEm).The influence of Young's modulus gradient on the parametric resonance is investigated in the subcritical and supercritical *** general,the pipe in the supercritical region is more sensitive to the pulsating *** nonlinearity changes from hard to soft,and the non-trivial equilibrium configuration introduces more frequency components to the ***,the increasing Young's modulus gradient improves the critical pulsating flow velocity of the parametric resonance,and further enhances the stability of the *** addition,when the temperature increases along the axial direction,reducing the gradient parameter can enhance the response *** work further complements the theoretical analysis of pipes conveying pulsating fluid.

It is discovered that the product of the current and the electric field in a PN junction should be regarded as the rate of work(power)done by the electric field force on moving charges(hole current and electron current),which was previously misinterpreted as solely a Joule heating *** clarify that it is exactly the work done by the electric field force on the moving charges to stimulate the emergence of non-equilibrium carriers,which triggers the novel physical *** regards to Joule heat,we point out that it should be calculated from Ohm’s law,rather than simply from the product of the current and the electric *** on this understanding,we conduct thorough discussion on the role of the electric field force in the process of carrier recombination and carrier *** thermal effects of carrier recombination and carrier generation followed are incorporated into the thermal equation of *** present study shows that the exothermic effect of carrier recombination leads to a temperature rise at the PN interface,while the endothermic effect of carrier generation causes a temperature reduction at the *** two opposite effects cause opposite heat flow directions in the PN junction under forward and backward bias voltages,highlighting the significance of managing device heating phenomena in design ***,this study possesses referential significance for the design and tuning on the performance of piezotronic devices.
