Two artificial agents(a humanoid robot and a virtual human) are enriched with various similar intelligence,autonomy, functionalities and interaction modalities. The agents are integrated in the form of a cyber-physical-social system(CPss) through a shared communication platform to create a social ecology. In the ecology, the agents collaborate(assist each other) to perform a real-world task(search for a hidden object)for the benefits of humans. A robot-virtual human bilateral trust model is derived and a real-time trust measurement method is developed. The role of taking initiative in the collaboration is switched between the agents following a finite state machine model triggered by bilateral trust, which results in a mixedinitiative collaboration. A scheme is developed to evaluate the performance of the agents in the ecology through the *** results show that the robot and the virtual human perform satisfactorily in the collaboration through the CPss. The results thus prove the effectiveness of the real-world ecology between artificial agents of heterogeneous realities through a shared platform based on trust-triggered mixed-initiatives. The results can help develop adaptive social ecology comprising intelligent agents of heterogeneous realities to assist humans in various tasks through collaboration between the agents in the form of a CPss.

Plasma treatment can be used to modify the structure of natural fibre like jute for a variety of applications. Environmentally friendly jute fibre was treated with argon and oxygen plasma. The treated samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR） and optical microscope. The macromolecular and microstructural changes in cellulose confirmed the change by plasma treatment. The XRD results confirmed that the crystal size and the crystallinity of the plasma treated fibre increased. Argon plasma treated fibre had a smooth and compact surface, compared to oxygen plasma treated fibre. The maximum stain （i.e. stress） concentrated in the oxygen plasma treated fibre. Optical micrographs showed the oxygen plasma treated fibre tended to rupture due to higher strain （i.e., stress） compared to fibre with argon plasma treatment. FTIR results also provided the evidence of change in the chemical constituents with plasma treatment.

This study is aimed at developing statistical equations to estimate the inelastic displacement ratio of singledegree-of-freedom systems subjected to far fault repeated earthquakes. In the study, peak ground motion parameters are used to define the scatter of the original data. The ratio of peak ground acceleration to peak ground velocity, and peak ground velocity of the ground motion records and structural parameters such as period of vibration and lateral strength ratio are used in the proposed equations. For the development of the equations, nonlinear time history analyses of single-degree-offreedom systems are conducted. Then, the results are used in a multivariate regression procedure. The equations are verified by comparing the estimated results with the calculated results. The average error and coefficient of variation of the proposed equations are presented. The analyses results revealed that the direct use of peak ground motion parameters for the estimation of inelastic displacement ratio significantly reduced the scatter in the original data and yielded accurate results. From the comparative results it is also observed that results obtained using equations specific to peak ground velocity or peak ground acceleration to peak ground velocity ratio are similar.

The paper describes an energy-based constitutive model for sand, which is modified based on the modified plastic strain energy approach, represented by a unique relationship between the modified plastic strain energy and a stress parameter, independent of stress history. The modified plastic strain energy approach was developed based on results from a series of drained plastic strain compression tests along various stress paths on saturated dense Toyoura sand with accurate stress and strain measurements. The proposed model is coupled with an isotropically work-hardening and softening, non-associtated, elasto-plastic material description. The constitutive model concerns the inherent and stress system-induced cross-anisotropic elastic deformation properties of sand. It is capable of simulating the deformation characteristics of stress history and stress path, the effects of pressure level, anisotropic strength and void ratio, and the strain localization.

This study proposes a graphical user interface(GUI) based on an enhanced bacterial foraging optimization(EBFO) to find the optimal locations and sizing parameters of multi-type DFACTs in large-scale distribution *** proposed GUI based toolbox,allows the user to choose between single and multiple DFACTs allocations,followed by the type and number of them to be *** EBFO is then applied to obtain optimal locations and ratings of the single and multiple *** is found to be faster and provides more accurate results compared to the usual PsO and *** obtained with mATLAB/simulink simulations are compared with PsO,BFO and enhanced *** reveals that enhanced BFO shows quick convergence to reach the desired solution there by yielding superior solution *** results concluded that the EBFO based multiple DFACTs allocation using DsssC,APC and DsTATCOm is preferable to reduce power losses,improve load balancing and enhance voltage deviation index to 70%,38% and 132% respectively and also it can improve loading factor without additional power loss.

The long-term seepage of hydrocarbons, either as macroseepage or microseepage, can set up near-surface oxidation reduction zones that favor the development of a diverse array of chemical and mineralogical changes. The bacterial oxidation of light hydrocarbons can directly or indirectly bring about significant changes in the values of pH and Eh of the surrounding environment, thereby also changing the stability fields of the different mineral species present in that environment. The paper reports the role of hydrocarbon microseepage in surface alterations of trace metal concentrations. In this study trace metal alterations were mapped that appear to be associated with hydrocarbon microseepages in the oil/ gas fields. A total of 50 soil samples were collected near oil and gas fields of the Tatipaka and Pasarlapudi areas of the Krishna Godavari Basin, Andhra Pradesh. The soil samples were collected from a depth of 2-2.5 m. The paper reports the chemical alterations associated with trace metals in soils that are related to hydrocarbon microseepages above some of the major oil and gas fields of this petroliferous region. Trace metals, such as scandium （sc）, vanadium （V）, chromium （Cr）, cobalt （Co）, nickel （Ni）, copper （Cu）, zinc （Zn）, barium （Ba） and strontium （sr）, in soil samples were analyzed using inductively coupled plasma- mass spectrometry （ICP-ms）. The concentrations of sc （8 to 40 mg/kg）, V （197 to 489 mg/kg）, Cr （106 to 287 mg/kg）, Co （31 to 52 mg/kg）, Ni （65 to 110 mg/kg）, Cu （88 to 131 mg/kg）, Zn （88 to 471 mg/kg）, Ba （263 to 3,091 mg/kg） and sr （119 to 218 mg/kg） were obtained. It was observed that the concentrations of trace elements were tremendously increased when they were compared with their normal concentrations in soils. The analysis of adsorbed soil gas showed the presence of high concentrations of YC2＋（C2H6, C3H8 and n-C4H10） ranging from 7 to 222 μg/kg respectively. This article addresses the two-dimensional laminar boundary layer flow of magnetohydrodynamic （mHD） Jeffrey nano- fluid with mixed convection. Effects of thermal radiation, thermophoresis, Brownian motion and double stratifications are taken into account. Rosseland＇s approximation is utilized for the thermal radiation phenomenon. Convergent series solutions of velocity, tempe- rature and nanoparticle concentration are developed. Graphs of dimensionless temperature and nanoparticle concentration are prese- nted to investigate the influences of different emerging parameters. The values of skin-friction coefficient, local Nusselt and sherwood numbers are computed and discussed for both Jeffrey and viscous fluids cases. We have observed that the temperature profile retarded for the larger values of Deborah number while an enhancement is noticed with the increasing values of ratio of relaxation to retardation times. Increasing values of thermal and nanoparticle concentration stratifications lead to a reduction in the temperature and nanoparticle concentration. The values of local Nusselt and sherwood numbers are larger for the viscous fluid case when compared with Jeffrey fluid.

The influence of 0.01% to 0. 25% of Aluminum content （in mass percent） on the mechanical properties and cold workability of low thermal expansion Fe-33Ni-15Co sheets in the annealed and hot rolled condition was investigated. Addition of Al up to 0.15 % resulted in the increase of ductility and tougianess and improvement of workability. Besides, achievement of fine grain structure and increase in the amount of annealing twins caused ductility to improve. Addition of Al higher than 0.15 % led to the increase in oxidation reaction during melting process and to refine under argon atmosphere. This caused the volume fraction of Al containing inclusions to increase and consequently the ductility and toughness to decrease.

This paper discusses the effect of thermophoretic particle deposition on the transient natural convection laminar flow along a vertical fiat surface, which is immersed in an optically dense gray fluid in the presence of thermal radiation. In the analysis, the radiative heat flux term is expressed by adopting the Rosseland diffusion approximation. The governing equations are reduced to a set of parabolic partial differential equations. Then, these equations are solved numerically with a finite-difference scheme in the entire time regime. The asymptotic solutions are also obtained for sufficiently small and large time. The obtained asymptotic solutions are then compared with the numerical solutions, and they are found in excellent agreement. moreover, the effects of different physical pa- rameters, i.e., the thermal radiation parameter, the surface temperature parameter, and the thermophoretic parameter, on the transient surface shear stress, the rate of surface heat transfer, and the rate of species concentration, as well as the transient velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles are shown graphically for a fluid （i.e., air） with the Prandtl number of 0.7 at 20℃ and 1.013 × 10^5 Pa.

In this study,a mathematical model is formulated to examine the blood flow through a cylindrical stenosed blood *** stenosis disease is caused because of the abnormal narrowing of flow in the *** narrowing causes serious health issues like heart attack and may decrease blood flow in the blood *** modeling helps us analyze such issues.A mathematical model is considered in this study to explore the blood flow in a stenosis artery and is solved numerically with the finite difference *** artery is an elastic cylindrical tube containing blood defined as a viscoelastic fluid.A complete parametric analysis has been done for the flow velocity to clarify the applicability of the defined ***,the flow characteristics such as the impedance,the wall shear stress in the stenotic region,the shear stresses in the throat of the stenosis and at the critical stenosis height are *** obtained results show that the intensity of the stenosis occurs mostly at the highest narrowing areas compared with all other areas of the vessel,which has a direct impact on the wall shear *** is also observed that the resistive impedance and wall shear pressure get the maximum values at the critical height of the stenosis.
