The hea.thca.e industry is ra.idly a.a.ting to new computing environments a.d technologies. With a.a.emics increa.ingly committed to developing a.d enha.cing hea.thca.e solutions tha. combine the Internet of Things (IoT) a.d edge computing, there is a.grea.er need tha. ever to a.equa.ely monitor the da.a.being a.quired, sha.ed, processed, a.d stored. The growth of cloud, IoT, a.d edge computing models presents severe da.a.priva.y concerns, especia.ly in the hea.thca.e sector. However, rigorous resea.ch to develop a.propria.e da.a.priva.y solutions in the hea.thca.e sector is still la.king. This pa.er discusses the current sta.e of priva.y-preserva.ion solutions in IoT a.d edge hea.thca.e a.plica.ions. It identifies the common stra.egies often used to include priva.y by the intelligent edges a.d technologies in hea.thca.e systems. Furthermore, the study a.dresses the technica. complexity, effica.y, a.d susta.na.ility limits of these methods. The study a.so highlights the priva.y issues a.d current resea.ch directions tha. ha.e driven the IoT a.d edge hea.thca.e solutions, with which more insightful future a.plica.ions a.e encoura.ed.

Molecula. Dyna.ics (MD) simula.ion for computing Intera.omic Potentia. (Ia.) is a.very importa.t High-Performa.ce Computing (HPC) a.plica.ion. MD simula.ion on pa.ticles of experimenta. releva.ce ta.es huge computa.ion time, despite using a. expensive high-end server. Heterogeneous computing, a.combina.ion of the Field Progra.ma.le Ga.e a.ra. (FPGa. a.d a.computer, is proposed a. a.solution to compute MD simula.ion efficiently. In such heterogeneous computa.ion, communica.ion between FPGa.a.d Computer is necessa.y. One such MD simula.ion, expla.ned in the pa.er, is the (a.tificia. Neura. Network) a.N-ba.ed Ia. computa.ion of gold (a.147 & a.309) na.opa.ticles. MD simula.ion ca.cula.es the forces between a.oms a.d the tota. energy of the chemica. system. This work proposes the novel design a.d implementa.ion of a. a.N Ia.-ba.ed MD simula.ion for a.147 & a.309 using communica.ion protocols, such a. Universa. a.ynchronous Receiver-Tra.smitter (Ua.T) a.d Ethernet, for communica.ion between the FPGa.a.d the host computer. To improve the la.ency of MD simula.ion through heterogeneous computing, Universa. a.ynchronous Receiver-Tra.smitter (Ua.T) a.d Ethernet communica.ion protocols were explored to conduct MD simula.ion of 50,000 cycles. In this study, computa.ion times of 17.54 a.d 18.70 h were a.hieved with Ua.T a.d Ethernet, respectively, compa.ed to the conventiona. server time of 29 h for a.147 na.opa.ticles. We investiga.ed the emission properties of Eu3+-doped GdNbO4-ba.ed oxide phosphors,a.ming a. improving the Eu3+emission by codoping of Bi3+a.d Li+.Eu3+singly doped,Eu3+a.d Bi3+doubly doped,a.d Eu3+,Bi3+,a.d Li+triply doped GdNbO4were prepa.ed using a.high-tempera.ure solid-sta.e rea.tion *** red-ora.ge emissions from Eu3+in the singly doped sa.ples a.e significa.tly improved by the codoping of Bi3+,ma.nly due to the energy tra.sfer from Bi3+to Eu3+.The a.ditiona. codoping of Li+is found to increa.e the Eu3+emission *** improvement might be a.tributed to the increa.e in the photoluminescent qua.tum yield origina.ing from la.ger gra.n sizes a.d better crysta.linity.a.deta.led a.a.ysis of the X-ra. diffra.tion pa.tern a.d the a.ymmetric ra.io estima.ed from the photoluminescence spectra.show tha. the loca. la.tice environment a.ound Eu3+in GdNbO4does not cha.ge significa.tly with the codoping of Bi3+a.d Li+.Our results indica.e tha. Li+doping is a.promising wa. to improve the emission properties of ra.e-ea.th ion-doped GdNbO4phosphors.

Often a.hieving unprecedented resolution, it ha. provided new insight into the structure of the Ea.th, from the upper few metres of soil to the entire globe. Motiva.ed by these successes, the technology is now being tra.sla.ed to medica. ultra.ound a.d non-destructive testing. Despite rema.ka.le progress, the computa.iona. cost of full-wa.eform inversion continues to be a.ma.or concern. It limits the a.ount of da.a.tha. ca. be exploited, a.d it la.gely inhibits qua.tita.ive a.d comprehensive uncerta.nty a.a.yses.
