The superτ-charm facility(sTCF)is an electron–positron collider proposed by the Chinese particle physics *** is designed to operate in a center-of-mass energy range from 2 to 7 GeV with a peak luminosity of 0.5×10^(35) cm^(–2)·s^(–1) or *** sTCF will produce a data sample about a factor of 100 larger than that of the presentτ-charm factory—the BEPCII,providing a unique platform for exploring the asymmetry of matter-antimatter(charge-parity violation),in-depth studies of the internal structure of hadrons and the nature of non-perturbative strong interactions,as well as searching for exotic hadrons and physics beyond the standard *** sTCF project in China is under development with an extensive R&D *** document presents the physics opportunities at the sTCF,describes conceptual designs of the sTCF detector system,and discusses future plans for detector R&D and physics case studies.

The origin of the Tertiary ’red clay’ underlying the Pleistocene loess in the Chinese loess Plateau remains controversial,although several lines of evidence have suggested a wind-blown *** study examines the particle-size parameters of the late Miocene and Pliocene ’red clay’ by comparing it with those of the late Pleistocene *** particle-size distribution of a total of 15 339 loess and 6394 ’red clay’ samples taken from 12 loess sections along a north-south transect and two ’red clay’ sequences at lingtai and Jingchuan was systematically *** median grain size, skewness and kurtosis of the late Pleistocene loess all show a systematic southward change and are principally influenced by distance from source *** spatial and temporal differentiation of dust deposits is expressed in a skewness-kurtosis-median grain size ternary diagram,from which the distance to the source region can be *** particle-size characteristics of the Tertiary ’red clay’ sediments are very similar to those of the palaeosols within the late Pleistocene loess deposits,suggesting an aeolian origin for the ’red clay’.Based on the comparison of ’red clay’ and loess in the ternary diagrams,it is inferred that the source--sink distance was greater in the Neogene than in the last and penultimate interglacials,and that the dust source region in north-western China underwent a progressive expansion during the period from at least 7.0 Ma to the present.

The sediment record of the loess-paleosol sequence in the Chinese loess Plateau reveals a strong relationship between grain size fluctuations and glacial-interglacial cycles documented by marine oxygen isotope variations. However,on tectonic time scales,differences between the loess-paleosol grain size record and the marine oxygen isotope record can be *** results from the Baishui,Jingchuan and lingtai sections show that the grain size of eolian loess,superimposed on a coarsening trend, has two abrupt shifts at about 2.55 and 1.25 Ma,which are followed by significantly damped fluctuations in grain size. This is different from the global oxygen isotope record which demonstrates higher amplitude variations since the late Pliocene-early Pleistocene and lacks analogs of the abrupt *** propose that the progressive uplift of the Tibetan plateau may have forced the regional environmental system across two thresholds at the late Pliocene-early Pleistocene and the middle Pleistocene, respectively,inducing two pulses of climatic and environmental changes over north-western China which are superimposed on the global cooling trend and orbital climate *** TERMs:3344 Meteorology and Atmospheric Dynamics:Paleoctimatology;9320 Information Related to Geographic Region:Asia;9604 Information Related to Geologic Time:Cenozoic

The loess-paleosol-red clay sequence in the Chinese loess Plateau has attracted attention for its potential in recording late Cenozoic climatic changes over northern China,although the details of the climatic implications of the proxies(for example,magnetic susceptibility) and the reconstructed summer monsoon changes remain *** we report on a new section from Baishui,in Gansu province and compare it with the lingtai and Jingchuan *** correlating the magnetic susceptibility from these sections,we show that there is a clear systematic decrease of the magnetic susceptibility in the red clay deposits from the southeast(lingtai section) to the northwest(Baishui section).This result suggests that the climatic parameters(probably precipitation) had a decreasing northwestward gradient during the red clay *** climatic pattern is similar to the present condition,implying that the influence of the East Asian summer monsoon on the Chinese loess Plateau has persisted from at least 6 Ma.

The dynamic spalling characteristics of rock are important for stability analysis in rock *** paper presented an experimental investigation on the dynamic spalling characteristics of granite with different temperatures and strain rates.A series of dynamic spalling tests with different impact velocities were conducted on thermally treated granite at different *** dynamic spalling strengths of granite with different temperatures and strain rates were determined.A model was proposed to correlate the dynamic spalling strength of granite,high temperature and strain *** results show that the spalling strength of granite decreases with increasing ***,the spalling strength of granite with a higher strain rate is larger than that with a lower strain *** proposed model can describe the relationship among dynamic spalling strength of granite,high temperature and strain rate.

In this paper,we propose an analytical stochastic dynamic programming(sDP)algorithm to address the optimal management problem of price-maker community energy *** a price-maker,energy storage smooths price differences,thus decreasing energy arbitrage ***,this price-smoothing effect can result in significant external welfare changes by reduc-ing consumer costs and producer revenues,which is not negligible for the community with energy storage *** such,we formulate community storage management as an sDP that aims to maximize both energy arbitrage and community *** incorporate market interaction into the sDP format,we propose a framework that derives partial but sufficient market information to approximate impact of storage operations on market *** we present an analytical sDP algorithm that does not require state *** from computational efficiency,another advantage of the analytical algorithm is to guide energy storage to charge/discharge by directly comparing its current marginal value with expected future marginal *** studies indicate community-owned energy storage that maximizes both arbitrage and welfare value gains more benefits than storage that maximizes only *** proposed algorithm ensures optimality and largely reduces the computational complexity of the standard *** Terms-Analytical stochastic dynamic programming,energy management,energy storage,price-maker,social welfare.

The geological conditions for coal mining in China are complex,with various structural issues such as faults and collapsed columns seriously compromising the safety of coal mine ***-seam wave exploration is an effective technique for acquiring detailed information on geological structures in coal seam working ***,the existing reflected in-seam wave imaging technique can no longer meet the exploration precision requirements,making it imperative to develop a new reflected in-seam wave imaging *** study applies the Gaussian beam summation(GBs)migration method to imaging coal seams'reflected in-seam wave ***,with regard to the characteristics of the reflected in-seam wave data,methods such as wavefield removal and enveloped superposition are employed for the corresponding wavefield separation,wave train compression and other processing of reflected in-seam ***,imaging is performed using the GBs migration *** feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method for reflected in-seam wave imaging are validated by conducting GBs migration tests on 3D coal-seam fault models with different dip angles and *** applying the method to reflected in-seam wave data for an actual coal seam working face,accurate imaging of a fault structure is obtained,thereby validating its practicality.
