The available models for eff ective periods of site and structure are reviewed in context of frequency tuning in the inelastic seismic response of soil-structure system. The eff ect of seismic intensity and ductility demand, on the eff ective periods, is investigated, and inelastic site amplifi cation is shown to be strongly correlated to the normalized eff ective period. Two non-dimensional parameters, analogous to the conventional site amplifi cation factors in codes, are defi ned to quantify the inelastic site amplifi cation. It is shown that the inelastic site amplifi cation factor (i.e. ratio of constant ductility spectral ordinates at soil site to those at rock outcrop) is able to represent the site eff ects more clearly, as compared to the inelastic site amplifi cation ratio (i.e. ratio of inelastic spectral ordinates at soil site to the corresponding elastic spectral ordinates at rock outcrop). Further, the peak in the amplifi cation factor corresponding to the eff ective site period diminishes rapidly with increasing ductility demand.

This paper analyzes the impact of source（ts） and drain（td） contact thicknesses on top contact（TC） and bottom contact（BC） organic thin film transistors（OTFTs） with a gate in the bottom, using a benchmarked industry standard Atlas 2-D numerical device simulator. The parameters including drive current（Ids）, mobility（μ）, threshold voltage（Vt）and current on-off ratio（ION/IOFF） are analyzed from the device physics point of view on different electrode thicknesses, ranging from infinitesimal to 50 nm, for both top and bottom contact structures. Observations demonstrate that the performance of the BC structure is more affected by scaling of ts=din comparison to its counterpart. In the linear region, the mobility is almost constant at all the values of ts=dfor both structures. However,an increment of 18% and 83% in saturation region mobility is found for TC andBC structures, respectively with scaling down ts=dfrom 50–0 nm. Besides this, the current on-off ratio increases more sharply in the BC *** analysis simplifies a number of issues related to the design and fabrication of organic material based devices and circuits.

The distribution and verticals variation of geochemical components in the kasnau-Matasukh lignites of Nagaur Basin, Rajasthan, were investigated using microscopy, proximate and ultimate analyses, Rock-Eval Pyrolysis, X-ray diffraction and Fourier Transform Infrared analyses, and major/minor/trace element determination. The relationship of elements with ash content and with macerals have also been discussed. These lignites are stratified, black, dominantly composed of huminite group macerals with subordinated amounts of liptinite and inertinite groups. They are classified as type-III kerogen and are mainly gas prone in nature. The concentration （in vol%） of mineral matter is seen to increase towards upper part of seam and so is the concentration （in wt%） of the volatile matter, elemental carbon and sulphur. The common minerals present in these lignitesare mixed clay layer, chlorite, and quartz as identified by X-ray diffraction study. Compared with world average in brown coal, the bulk concentration of Cu is anomalously high in most of the samples while Cd is 2-3 times high and Zn is high in one band. Based on interrelationship, different pyrite forms are noticed to have different preferential enrichment of various elements. The concentration of disseminated pyrite is more than the other pyrite forms and is followed by discrete pyrite grains and massive pyrite.

We explore a new relativistic anisotropic solution of the Einstein field equations for compact stars based on embedding class one *** this purpose,we use the embedding class one methodology by employing the karmarkar *** this methodology,we obtain a particular differential equation that connects both the gravitational potentials e^λ and e^ν.We solve this particular differential equation choosing a simple form of generalized gravitational potential grr to describe a complete structure of the space-time within the stellar *** determining this space-time geometry for the stellar models,we discuss thermodynamical observables including radial and tangential pressures,matter density,red-shift,velocity of sound,etc.,in the stellar *** also perform a complete graphical analysis,which shows that our models satisfy all the physical and mathematical requirements of ultra-high dense collapsed ***,we discuss the moment of inertia and M-R curve for rotating and non-rotating stars.

In the present investigation an attempt has been made to demineralize the Gondwana coal of Gopinathpur top and bottom seams of Mugma mine, Raniganj coalfield, Dhanbad with the help of Pseudomonas mendocina strain B6-1. The change in the amount of ash yield and decrease in the concentration of selected minor elements like Na, k, Mn and Ca and environmentally sensitive selected trace elements such as Cd, Pb, se, Ni, Mn, and Zn have been studied as a function of time of bacterial treatment as well as with variation in the bacterial biomass. After 28 days of bacterial treatment there was variable amount of decrease observed in ash yield as well as in the concentration of minor and trace elements. The removal of the elements was further enhanced with the increase in the bacterial biomass from 10 to 25 mg/mL. Due to over exploitation of superior grade coals in the country, the remaining coal resources, available for current use, are inferior in grade and contain high level of impurities and there is ample scope of bio-beneficiation of these coals using bacterial biomass.

The system of rice intensification （sRI） is reported to have advantages like lower seed requirement,less pest attack,shorter crop duration,higher water use efficiency and the ability to withstand higher degree of moisture stress than traditional method of rice *** this background,sRI was compared with traditional transplanting technique at Indian Agricultural Research Institute,New Delhi,India during two wet seasons （2009-2011）.In the experiment laid out in a factorial randomized block design,two methods of rice cultivation [conventional transplanting （CT） and sRI] and two rice varieties （Pusa Basmati 1 and Pusa 44） were used under seven crop nutrition treatments,viz.T 1,120 kg/hm2 N,26.2 kg/hm2 P and 33 kg/hm2 k;T 2,20 t/hm2 farmyard manure （FYM）;T 3,10 t/hm2 FYM＋ 60 kg/hm2 N;T 4,5 t/hm2 FYM＋ 90 kg/hm2 N;T 5,5 t/hm2 FYM＋ 60 kg/hm2 N＋ 1.5 kg/hm2 blue green algae （BGA）;T 6,5 t/hm2 FYM＋ 60 kg/hm2 N＋ 1.0 t/hm2 Azolla,and T 7,N 0 P 0 k 0 （control,no NPk application） to study the effect on seed quality,yield and water *** sRI,soil was kept at saturated moisture condition throughout vegetative phase and thin layer of water （2-3 cm） was maintained during the reproductive phase of rice,however,in CT,standing water was maintained in crop growing *** revealed that CT and sRI gave statistically at par grain yield but straw yield was significantly higher in CT as compared to *** quality was superior in sRI as compared to *** nutrient management （INM） resulted in higher plant height with longer leaves than chemical fertilizer alone in both the rice *** yield attributes such as number of effective tillers per hill,panicle length and panicle weight of rice in both the varieties were significantly higher in INM as compared to chemical fertilizer *** yields of both the varieties were the highest in INM followed by the recommended doses of chemical *** grain yield and its attributes of Pusa 44 were significantly

The formation and disassociation of excitons play a crucial role in any photovoltaic or photocatalytic ***,excitonic effects are seldom considered in materials discovery studies due to the monumental computational cost associated with the examination of these ***,we study the excitonic properties of nearly 50 photocatalysts using state-of-the-art Bethe–salpeter ***~50 materials were recently recognized as promising photocatalysts for CO_(2) reduction through a data-driven screening of 68,860 ***,we propose three screening criteria based on the optical properties of these materials,taking excitonic effects into account,to further down select six ***,we study the correlation between the exciton binding energies obtained from the Bethe–salpeter formalism and those obtained from the computationally much lessexpensive Wannier–Mott model for these chemically diverse~50 *** work presents a paradigm towards the inclusion of excitonic effects in future materials discovery for solar-energy harvesting applications.

We develop an open-source python workflow package,pyGWBsE to perform automated first-principles calculations within the GW-BsE(Bethe-salpeter)***-BsE is a many body perturbation theory based approach to explore the quasiparticle(QP)and excitonic properties of *** approximation accurately predicts bandgaps of materials by overcoming the bandgap underestimation issue of the more widely used density functional theory(DFT).BsE formalism produces absorption spectra directly comparable with experimental *** package achieves complete automation of the entire multi-step GW-BsE computation,including the convergence tests of several parameters that are crucial for the accuracy of these *** is integrated with Wannier90,to generate QP bandstructures,interpolated using the maximally-localized wannier *** also enables the automated creation of databases of metadata and data,including QP and excitonic properties,which can be extremely useful for future material discovery studies in the field of ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors,electronics,photovoltaics,and photocatalysis.
