In the catalytic reduction atmosphere of H_2+CH_4+C_4H_4s, the ball-milledprecursor (NH_4)_2Mos_4 is heated to 300℃ for decomposition. The as-synthesized product ischaracterized by XRD, sEM, TEM, HRTEM, EDX, and BET. The results show that multi-wall Mos_2nanotubes are obtained. The length of the nanotubes is around 3 - 5 μm. The diameters of thenanotubes are homogeneous, with an inner diameter of ～15 nm, an outer diameter of ～ 30 nm, and aninterlayer (002) d-spacing of 0.63 nm. This catalytic thermal reaction occurring at low temperaturesis important for the large-scale preparation of similar transition-metal disulfide nanotubes.

Effects of duration of phenytoin administration on mRNA expression of cytochrome P450 and P-glycoprotein in the liver and small intestine of rats

Phenytoin(5,5-diphenylhydantoin;DPH) induces expression of cytochromes P450(CYPs). Interactions between DPH and tacrolimus suggested that the persistence of CYP induction after discontinuation of DPH is dependent on the history of administration and dosing period of DPH. However, the relationship between the duration of DPH administration and expression of CYPs in the liver and small intestine of rats is not known. Alterations in levels of P-glycoprotein(P-gp;MDR1;ABCB1) as well as CYPs cause drug interactions in the small intestine. We examined the effects of the duration of DPH administration on expression of CYPs and P-gp in the liver and small intestine of rats. Rats were treated with DPH(100 mg/kg,peroral(p.o.) twice a day(b.d.)) for 2, 4, 8, and 16 d. mRNA levels of CYPs and P-gp were examined using the total RNA extracted from the liver and duodenum 2 h and 24 h after the final administration of DPH. CYP3 A activities were determined using microsomes. DPH administration for 2 d and 4 d markedly increased m RNA levels of CYPs such as CYP3 A1, CYP3 A2,CYP2 B1, and CYP2 B2 in the liver. A relatively long duration of DPH administration(8 d and16 d) resulted in abolition of the induction of hepatic CYP but increased CYP3 A activities were maintained. These results suggest that the duration of DPH administration could be an important determinant of hepatic CYP induction.

Objective： Hie （cold sensation） is one of the most well-known health complaints in Japan and elsewhere in East Asia. Those who suffer from severe hie are considered to have hiesho （cold disorder）. This study was conducted to determine symptoms associated with hie in young females using a survey consisting of the hie scale and hie diary. Methods： Two hundred and seventy-one participants were included for the analysis. survey forms were distributed to the participants. Diagnosis of hiesho was determined by using the hie scale. A discriminant score of over -0.38 was considered hiesho. The short Form-8 Health survey standard Version （sF-8） was used to measure health-related quality of life （QOL）. The participants were also asked to respond to the questionnaire evaluating 14 physical and emotional symptoms, utilizing a six-level Likert scale item. Results： The 1st factor （hie factor） was correlated with hie （r= 0.546）, dry mouth （r= 0.332）, lower- extremity edema （r = 0.450）, headrushes （r=0.470）, shoulder stiffness （r = 0.311 ）, headrushes with chills （r = 0.726）, and fatigue （r= 0.359）. Cronbach＇s α of the 1st factor was 0.748, which indicated reliability between the items. When hie factor was the dependent variable, standardized partial regression coefficient was β=-0.387 for physical component score （P 〈 0.001） and β=-0.243 for mental component score （P 〈 0.001 ）. Conclusion： This study indicated that hiesho symptoms among young female adults were associated with bodily pain and general health perceptions of the sF-8 QOL survey.

The wetting behavior of Au and Ag particles on a monocrystalline graphite substrate was investigated using the microscopic sessile drop method under a purified Ar atmosphere at 1300 K. The measured contact angles of the liquid Au and Ag on monocrystalline graphite substrates of （0001） face were 129° and 124°, respectively. It is believed that the interaction at the interface is dominated by the physical bonding （van der Waal＇s interaction）.

In this article, following a brief introduction concerning experimental measurements of surface and interfacial tensions, methods for calculating surface tension and surface segregation for binary, ternary, and multicomponent high-temperature melts based on Bulter＇s original treatment [ 1] and on available physical properties and thermodynamic data, especially excess Gibbs free energies of bulk phase and surface phase versus temperature obtained from thermodynamic databases using the calculation of phase diagram （CALPHAD） approach, with special attention to the model parameter β, have been described. In addition, the geometric models can be extended to predict surface tensions of multicom- ponent systems from those of sub-binary systems. For illustration, some calculated examples, including Pb-free soldering systems and phase-diagram evaluation of binary alloys in nanoparticle systems are given. On the basis of surface tensions of high-temperature melts, interracial tensions between liquid alloy and molten slag as well as molten slag and molten matter can be calculated using the Girifalco-Good equation [2]. Modifications are suggested in the Nishizawa＇s model [3] for estimation of interracial tension in liquid metal （A）/ceramics （MX） systems so that the calculations can be carried out based on the sublattice model and thermodynamic data, without deliberately differentiating the phase of MX at high temperature. Finally, the derivation of an approximate expression for predicting interfacial tension between the high-temperature multicomponent melts, employing Becker＇s model [4] in conjunction with Bulter＇s equation and inteffacial tension data of the simple systems is described, and some examples concerning pyrometallurgical systems are given for better understanding.

An ensemble-based assimilation system that used the MAsINGAR ink-2 （Model of Aerosol species IN the Global AtmospheRe Mark 2） dust forecasting model and satellite-derived aerosol optical thickness （AOT） data. processed in the JAXA （Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency） satellite Monitoring for Environmental studies （JAsMEs） system with MODIs （Moderate Resolution Imaging spectroradiometer） observations. was used to quantify the impact of assimilation on forecasts of a severe Asian dust storm during May 10-13. 2011. The modeled bidirectional reflectance function and observed vegetation index employed in JAsMEs enable AOT retrievals in areas of high surface reflectance, making JAsMEs effective for dust forecasting and early warning by enabling assimilations in dust storm source regions. Forecasts both with and without assimilation were validated using PM^0 observations from China, Korea, and Japan in the TEMM WG1 dataset. Only the forecast with assimilation successfully captured the contrast between the core and tail of the dust storm by increasing the AOT around the core by 70-150% and decreasing it around the tail by 20-30% in the 18-h forecast. The forecast with assimilation improved the agreement with observed PMlo concentrations, but the effect was limited at downwind sites in Korea and Japan because of the lack of observational constraints for a mis-forecasted dust storm due to cloud.

In this paper, we present integral cross sections （ICs） for electron impact excitation of the n = 2 levels in helium in the impact energy range of 23.5 eV to 35 eV. The ICs of each final state, 2^3s, 2^1s, 2^3P and 2^1P, has been determined by integration of the angular differential cross sections （DCs） over all of 0° to 180°, where those DCs were obtained from both our previous experiments and the extrapolation using the convergent close coupling calculation. The present experimental ICs for the optically allowed 21P transition state are also compared with those obtained from the BE f-scaling method. Very good agreement between the experimental and BE f-scaled 21P ICss is generally found in the measured impact energy region.

AIM To examine the relationship between serum autotaxin(ATX) concentrations and clinicopathological findings in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) *** One hundred eighty-six NAFLD patients who had undergone liver biopsy between 2008 and 2017 were retrospectively *** samples were collected at the time of biopsy and ATX was measured by enzyme *** obtained from 160 healthy,nonobese individuals were used as *** findings were graded according to an NAFLD scoring system and correlations with serum ATX were calculated by spearman's *** accuracy was evaluated using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC).Cut-off values were identified by the Youden index,and the nearest clinically applicable value to the cutoff was considered the optimal threshold for clinical *** serum ATX levels were significantly higher in NAFLD patients than in controls(0.86 mg/L vs 0.76 mg/L,P significantly with ballooning score and fibrosis stage(r = 0.36,P spectively).such tendencies were stronger in female *** were no remarkable relationships between ATX and serum alanine aminotransferase,lipid profiles,or steatosis *** AUC values of ATX for predicting the presence of fibrosis(≥ F1),significant fibrosis(≥ F2),severe fibrosis(≥ F3),and cirrhosis(F4),were all more than 0.70 in respective *** serum ATX levels may at least partially reflect histological severity in NAFLD.
