Thermoelectric performance largely depends on the reduction of lattice thermal conductivity(kL).The study of the thermal conductivity(k)of a sb_(2)Te_(3)/graphite nanocomposite system demonstrates-40%reduction in kL with graphite incorporation.A plausible explanation of intrinsic low kL observed in sb_(2)Te_(3) based system is presented by modeling experimental specific heat(Cp)*** spectroscopy measurement combined to X-Ray diffraction data confirms the presence of graphite as separate phase in the composite *** is found that phonon scattering dominates heat transport mechanism in the nanostructured sb_(2)Te_(3)/graphite *** reduction in kL is accomplished by intensifying scattering rate of phonons via various *** introduces effective scattering sources,i.e.,defects of different dimensionalities in synthesized nanocomposite ***,graphite mediates phonon-phonon coupling and enhances lattice anharmonicity,which causes an intrinsic scattering of phonons with all frequencies in the sb_(2)Te_(3)/graphite nanocomposite *** density and phonon anharmonicity of the synthesized samples are estimated from in depth analysis of temperature dependent synchrotron powder diffraction and Raman spectroscopic *** value as low as 0.8 W m1 K1 at 300 K,achieved with graphite dispersion in sb_(2)Te_(3) based composite system makes the present comprehensive study an interesting concept to be developed in thermoelectric materials.

studies of a possible new Herbig Ae/Be star in the open cluster NGC 7380

We present a study of the star 2MAss J22472238＋5801214 with the aim of identifying its true nature which has hitherto been uncertain. This object, which is a member of the young cluster NGC 7380, has been variously proposed to be a Be star, a D-type symbiotic and a Herbig Ae/Be star in separate studies. Here we present optical spectroscopy, near-IR photometry and narrow band Hα imaging of the nebulosity in its environment. Analysis of all these results, including the spectral energy distribution constructed from available data, strongly indicate the source to be a Herbig Ae/Be star. The star is found to be accompanied by a nebulosity with an interesting structure. A bow-shock shaped structure, similar to a cometary nebula, is seen very close to the star with its apex oriented towards the photoionizing source of this region （i.e. the star DH Cep）. An interesting spectroscopic finding, from the forbidden [stI] 6716, 6731A and [OI] 6300A lines, is the detection of a blue-shifted high velocity outflow （200 -t-50 km s-1） from the star.

The physical and electrical characteristics of atomic layer deposited RuO2 nanocrystals embedded in high-κ HfO2/Al2O3 films in an n-si/siO2/HfO2/RuO2/Al2O3/Pt memory structure have been investigated. A small size of sity of 1.6×1012/cm2 for the RuO2 nanocrystals have been observed by high-resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM). The RuO2 metal nanocrystals and all high-κ films have been confirmed by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPs). A large hysteresis memory window of △V≈10.8 V at a gate voltage of Vg = ±10 V has been observed for RuO2 nanocrystal memory capacitors. A hysteresis memory window of △V≈2.4 V has also been observed under a small sweeping gate voltage of Vg = ±5 V, due to charge storage in the RuO2 metal nanocrystals. The RuO2 metal nanocrystal memory capacitors have a large breakdown voltage of -15V. A low charge loss of 15% is observed after 10 years of retention.

3D visualization using pulsed and CW digital holographic tomography techniques

We outline the use of digital holographic tomography to determine the three-dimensional （3D） shapes of falling and static objects, such as lenslets and water droplets. Reconstruction of digitally recorded inline holograms is performed using multiplicative and Radon transform techniques to reveal the exact 3D shapes of the objects.

In the era of climate change,abiotic stresses(e.g.,salinity,drought,extreme temperature,flooding,metal/metalloid(s),UV radiation,ozone,etc.)are considered as one of the most complex environmental constraints that restricts crop production *** of stress-tolerant crop cultivars is the most auspicious way of surviving this constraint,and to produce these types of tolerant *** bioengineering mechanisms involved in stress signaling are being adopted in this *** example of this kind of manipulation is the osmotic *** quarternary ammonium compound glycinebetaine(GB),also originally referred to as betaine is a methylated glycine *** the betaines,GB is the most abundant one in plants,which is mostly produced in response to dehydration caused by different abiotic stresses like drought,salinity,and extreme *** helps in decreased accumulation and detoxification of ROs,thereby restoring photosynthesis and reducing oxidative *** takes part in stabilizing membranes and *** is also involved in the stabilization and protection of photosynthetic components,such as ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase,photosystem II and quarternary enzyme and protein complex structures under environmental *** was found to perform in chaperone-induced protein *** addition,GB can confer stress tolerance in very low concentrations,and it acts in activating defense responsive genes with stress ***,field application of GB has also shown protective effects against environmental adversities increasing crop yield and *** this review,we will focus on the role of GB in conferring abiotic stress tolerance and the possible ways to engineer GB biosynthesis in plants.

Ionization of Hydrogenic 3d state by Electron Impact

The triple differential cross sections estimation have been ascertained theoretically for the ionization of metastable 3d-state hydrogen atoms by electron at 150 eV, 200 eV and 250 eV for assorted kinematic conditions exerting a multiplex scattering principle. The existent new-findings are assimilated with the theoretic data of hydrogenic metastable 2s, 3s and 3P states as well as the hydrogenic ground state experiment. An analysis of the attained observations reveals qualitative fitness with those of compared results specially with hydrogenic ground state BBK model, ground state experimental data and metastable state 2s state results. This is a new theoretical work on hydrogenic metastable 3d state ionization by electron. The substantial progress of the current study offers a wide scope for empirical study in ionization process.

Foraminiferal biostratigraphy of lignite mines of Kutch,India:Age of lignite and fossil vertebrates

The lignite deposits of Kutch, India are stratigraphically referred to the Naredi Formation and considered to be Early Eocene in age. The biostratigraphy of the older mine at Panandhro and a newly opened mine at Matanomadh has constrained the upper age limit of lignite to the early Bartonian. Its lower age may extend to the late Lutetian. Temporally the formation of lignite corresponds to the warming event of the Middle Eocene and suggests a humid climate at the onset of the warming. The previous palynological studies have already suggested dominance of tropical angiospermic pollen. A diverse assemblage of fossil whales and other vertebrates, many of them supposedly the oldest representatives, were reported from Panandhro mine. These were initially assigned to the Early Eocene and later to the Lute? tian age. The present biostratigraphic study revises their age to the Early Bartonian.
