Numerical investigation of thermo-physical properties of non-newtonian fliud in a modelled intestine

several kinds of researches have been conducted on peristaltic flow of non-Newtonian fluid in modelled oesophagus,stomach and ***,further investigation is still needed es-pecially in the area of mechanical shear stress,the influence of inlet temperature and velocity,Nutsselt number and the history of strain rates experienced by fluid *** study presents the numerical investigation of thermo-physical properties of non-Newtonian fluid in a modelled *** properties investigated were fluid temperature,velocity,Nutsselt number and wall shear *** simulation was performed by solving 3D Navier-stokes and continuity *** intestinal model was drawn by using Autodesk Inventor 2017 while the numerical investigation was conducted by using ANsYs FLUENT *** Computational Fluid Dynamics solver employs the Finite Element Method(FEM)to discretize the governing ***,Hibiscus sabdariffa Roselle(sobo),soymilk(soya)and Pap(ogi)were the working fluids used for the *** of the results showed that the variation of fluid temperature and heat transfer with axial position across the length of intestinal model were not significantly influenced by the variation of the inlet *** of the model about the pulsating part enhanced heat transfer and nutrient delivery to the intestinal *** of the inlet velocity did not affect the average Nutsselt *** and sobo had the highest and lowest Nutsselt number,*** displayed the best fluid properties considering flow behaviour while soya dis-played the best properties for thermal *** results presented in this study are of countless importance in medical,paramedical,engineering applications,thermoregulation system,ther-motherapy,and biomedical disciplines,where analyses and investigation of gastrointestinal tract history can be understudied.

Electrolytic deposition of super-smart composite coating of Zn-V2o5-Nbo2 on low carbon steel for defence application

Despite the massive usages of low carbon steel in automobile for engineering components, its corrosion and high friction coefficient in aggressive environment make it limited in service. This paper is aimed at modifying low carbon steel structural component with thin film composite for enhanced mechanical and corrosion properties. The steel structure was electrodeposited with Zn-V_2 o_5 and embedded with varied Nbo_2 weight concentration of 6-12 wt % based electrolyte. scanning electron microscope(sEM) and high optical microscope was used to study the microstructural evolution of the fabricated coatings. The thermal stability of the fabricated coatings was studied in an isothermal furnace at 300 ℃ and 600 ℃ and further characterized using a high tech optical microscope. Potentiodynamic polarization technique was used to investigate the corrosion behavior of the composites in 3.65% NaCl. From the result, the effect of Nbo_2 on Zn-V_2 o_5-Nbo_2 was massive with improved crystal grain within the coatings lattices. The coating possesses strong metallurgical bonding and good corrosion resistance properties of about 0.315 mm/yr corrosion rate compare to 4.1 mm/yr of as-received sample. No doubt the impact of thermal shock on the resilient characteristics of the composite coating was moderate owing to the stable adherent properties of the deposited coatings.

spinal cord injuries have profound detrimental effects on individuals, regardless of whether they are caused by trauma or non-traumatic events. The compromised regeneration of the spinal cord is primarily attributed to damaged neurons, inhibitory molecules, dysfunctional immune response, and glial scarring. Unfortunately, currently, there are no effective treatments available that can fully repair the spinal cord and improve functional outcomes. Nevertheless, numerous pre-clinical approaches have been studied for spinal cord injury recovery, including using biomaterials, cells, drugs, or technological-based strategies. Combinatorial treatments, which target various aspects of spinal cord injury pathophysiology, have been extensively tested in the last decade. These approaches aim to synergistically enhance repair processes by addressing various obstacles faced during spinal cord regeneration. Thus, this review intends to provide scientists and clinicians with an overview of pre-clinical combinatorial approaches that have been developed toward the solution of spinal cord regeneration as well as update the current knowledge about spinal cord injury pathophysiology with an emphasis on the current clinical management.

Thermal explosion and irreversibility of hydromagnetic reactive couple stress fluid with viscous dissipation and Navier slips

The study examines the thermal explosion branched-chain and entropy generation as a result of irreversibility of hydromagnetic reactive couple stress liquid with viscous heating and Navier *** reactive fluid flow is enhanced by heat dependent pre-exponential factor and axial pressure gradient in a porous *** flow equations for the non-Newtonian couple stress fluid model and heat transfer are solved by employing a semi-analytical collocation weighted residual method(CWRM).The efficiency and validity of the obtained results was verified with the existing *** results reveal that at low hysteresis magnetic and viscous dissipation the irreversibility process is minimized and thermodynamic equilibrium is *** results from this study can assist in understanding the relationship between thermal and thermal explosions branched-chain.

Entropy analysis of unsteady magneto-nanofluid flow past accelerating stretching sheet with convective boundary condition

The unsteady laminar magnetohydrodynamics （MHD） boundary layer flow and heat transfer of nanofluids over an accelerating convectively heated stretching sheet are numerically studied in the presence of a transverse magnetic field with heat source/sink The unsteady governing equations are solved by a shooting method with the Runge-Kutta- Fehlberg scheme. Three different types of water based nanofluids, containing copper, aluminium oxide, and titanium dioxide, are taken into consideration. The effects of the pertinent parameters on the fluid velocity, the temperature, the entropy generation num- ber, the Bejan number, the shear stress, and the heat transfer rate at the sheet surface are graphically and quantitatively discussed in detail. A comparison of the entropy generation due to the heat transfer and the fluid friction is made with the help of the Bejan number. It is observed that the presence of the metallic nanoparticles creates more entropy in the nanofluid flow than in the regular fluid flow.

Differential degradation of crude oil (Bonny Light) by four Pseudomonas strains

Four hydrocarbon degraders isolated from enriched oil- and asphalt-contaminated soils in Lagos, Nigeria, were tested for their petroleum degradation potentials. All the isolates were identified as species of Pseudomonas. Pseudomonas putida P 11 demonstrated a strong ability to degrade kerosene, gasoline, diesel, engine oil and crude oil while P. aeruginosa BB3 exhibited fair degradative ability on crude oil, gasoline, engine oil, anthracene and pyrene but weak on kerosene, diesel and dibenzothiophene. Pseudomonas putida WL2 and P. aeruginosa MVL1 grew on crude oil and all its cuts tested with the latter possessing similar polycyclic aromatic potentials as P11. All the strains grew logarithmically with 1-2 orders of magnitude and with generation time ranging significantly between 3.07 and 8.55 d at 0.05 level of confidence. strains WL2 and MVL1 utilized the oil substrate best with more than 70% in 6 d experimental period, whereas the same feat was achieved by P11 in 12 d period. BB3 on the other hand degraded only 46% within 6 d. Interestingly, data obtained from gas chromatographic analysis of oil recovered from the culture fluids of MVL1 confirmed near-disappearance of major peaks （including aliphatics and aromatics） in the hydrocarbon mixture.

High-precision inverse potentials for neutron-proton scattering using piece-wise smooth Morse functions

The aim of this study is to construct inverse potentials for various ℓ-channels of neutron-proton scattering using a piece-wise smooth Morse function as a *** phase equations for single-channel states and the coupled equations of multi-channel scattering are solved numerically using the 5^(th) order Runge-kutta *** employ a piece-wise smooth reference potential comprising three Morse functions as the initial *** a machine learning-based genetic algorithm,we optimize the model parameters to minimize the mean-squared error between simulated and anticipated phase *** approach yields inverse potentials for both single and multichannel scattering,achieving convergence to a mean-squared error≤10^(-3).The resulting scattering lengths"a_(0)"and effective ranges"r"for ^(3)s_(1) and ^(1)s_(0) states,expressed as[a_(0),r],are found to be[5.445(5.424),1.770(1.760)]and[–23.741(–23.749),2.63(2.81)],respectively;these values are in excellent agreement with experimental ***,the calculated total scattering cross-sections are highly consistent with their experimental counterparts,having a percentage error of less than 1%.This computational approach can be easily extended to obtain interaction potentials for charged particle scattering.

Economic efficiency in fish farming: hope for agro-allied industries in Niagara

The challenge to increase the efficiency in food production level in Nigeria appears to be more urgent now than it has ever been in the history of the country. This is in view of the rapidly increasing population, the imminent decline in international economic and food aid and the need to conserve foreign exchange earnings through the production of raw materials to feed the growing industrial sector calls for urgent attention. The study was carded out in ogun state. The descriptive statistics was used to determine the socio-economic characteristics of the respondents. The stochastic frontiers production analysis was applied to estimate the technical, allocative efficiency and economic efficiency among the fish farmers in the state. The results of economic efficiency revealed that fish farming is economically efficient with a range of between 55% and 84% efficiency level suggesting a favourable hope for the agro-allied industry such as poultry and cottage industries etc in the state. The result of hypothesis of inefficiency sources models showed that years of experience of fish farmers is significant at 1% probability level indicating the factor contributing to the fish farming experience in the state. Thus, the efficiency is due to the fact that farmers are experienced and fairly educated. on the basis of findings, policy is suggested to be directed towards the encouragement of entrepreneurs in fish farming in the state by providing enabling environment like credit facilities, public enlightenment programme and provision of social amenities like feeder roads, pipe-born water etc and given the fact that an increase in the level of formal education variable leads to less inefficiency, government policy should be focused on adopting the best technology （e.g. fast growing species and equipment ） so as to improve the level of efficiency and investment which shall eventually lead to growth in output of fish fanning and a lead to the establishment of agro-allied industries

Let C be a cone and consider a quasi-norm p defined on it. We study the structure of the couple （C, p） as a topological space in the case where the function p is also monotone. We characterize when the topology of a quasi-normed cone can be defined by means of a monotone norm. We also define and study the dual cone of a monotone normed cone and the monotone quotient of a general cone. We provide a decomposition theorem which allows us to write a cone as a direct sum of a monotone subcone that is isomorphic to the monotone quotient and other particular subcone.
