Inhibiting ceramide synthase 5 expression in microglia decreases neuroinflammation after spinal cord injury

Microglia,the resident monocyte of the central nervous system,play a crucial role in the response to spinal cord ***,the precise mechanism remains *** investigate the molecular mechanisms by which microglia regulate the neuroinflammatory response to spinal cord injury,we performed single-cell RNA sequencing dataset analysis,focusing on changes in microglial *** found that the MG1 subpopulation emerged in the acute/subacute phase of spinal cord injury and expressed genes related to cell pyroptosis,sphingomyelin metabolism,and neuroinflammation at high ***,we established a mouse model of contusive injury and performed intrathecal injection of siRNA and molecular inhibitors to validate the role of ceramide synthase 5 in the neuroinflammatory responses and pyroptosis after spinal cord ***,we established a PC12-BV2 cell co-culture system and found that ceramide synthase 5 and pyroptosis-associated proteins were highly expressed to induce the apoptosis of neuron *** ceramide synthase 5 expression in a mouse model of spinal cord injury effectively reduced ***,ceramide synthase 5-induced pyroptosis was dependent on activation of the NLRP3 signaling *** ceramide synthase 5 expression in microglia in vivo reduced neuronal apoptosis and promoted recovery of neurological ***2g7 formed a“bridge”between sphingolipid metabolism and ceramide synthase 5-mediated cell death by inhibiting the NLRP3 signaling ***,these findings suggest that inhibiting ceramide synthase 5 expression in microglia after spinal cord injury effectively suppressed microglial pyroptosis mediated by NLRP3,thereby exerting neuroprotective effects.

Experimental study of the Particulate Dirt Characteristics on Pipe Heat Transfer surface

The systematic study of the particulate dirt characteristics on heat exchanging surface can provide theoretical guidance for defouling. In this paper, four main compositions of particulate dirt in the treated city sewage(i.e., CaCO3, MgO, CasO4 and siO2) are selected as the research objects. The effects of different working conditions, characteristics of particles on the growth rules of particulate dirt and the synergistic fouling by different particles are researched by thermal resistance method experimentally, while the microstructures of the dirt are observed by scanning Electron Microscope(sEM). The asymptotic values of both dirt thermal resistance and the scaling rate decrease with the increasing of working fluid velocity, while the two asymptotic values increase with the increasing particle size and particle concentration. Although the working fluid import temperature shows a weaker influence on the thermal resistance, but the increase of working fluid import temperature can retard the fouling rate. Among the stable values of the thermal resistances of four types of fouling, siO2 is the largest and Mg O is the smallest. The synergistic fouling by different types of particles results in the denser structure of mixed fouling.

The unavoidable dendrite growth and shuttle effect have long been stranglehold challenges limiting the safety and practicality of lithium-sulfur ***,we propose a dual-action strategy to address the lithium dendrite issue in stages by constructing a multifunctional surface-negatively-charged nanodiamond layer with high ductility and robust puncture resistance on polypropylene （PP） *** uniformly loaded compact negative layer can not only significantly enhance electron transmission efficiency and promote uniform lithium deposition,but also reduce the formation of dendrite during early deposition *** importantly,under the strong puncture stress encountered during the deterioration of lithium dendrite growth under limiting current,the high ductility and robust puncture resistance（145.88 MPa） of as-obtained nanodiamond layer can effectively prevent short circuits caused by unavoidable lithium *** Li||Li symmetrical cells assembled with nanodiamond layer modified PP demonstrated a stable cycle of over 1000 h at 2 mA cm-2with a polarization voltage of only 29.3 ***,the negative charged layer serves as a physical barrier blocking lithium polysulfide ions,effectively mitigating capacity *** improved cells achieved a capacity decay of only 0.042%per cycle after 700 cycles at 3 C,demonstrating effective suppression of dendrite growth and capacity attenuation,showing promising prospect.

The development of alkaline fuel cells is moving forward at an accelerated pace,and the application of ether-free bonded polymers to anion exchange membranes （AEMs） has been widely ***,the question of the“trade-off”between AEM ionic conductivity and dimensional stability remains *** strategy of inducing microphase separation to improve the performance of AEM has attracted much attention recently,but the design of optimal molecular structures is still being ***,this work introduced different ratios of 3-bromo-1,1,1-trifluoroacetone （x=40,50,and 60） into the main chain of poly（p-terphenylene isatin）.Because fluorinated groups have excellent hydrophobicity,hydrophilic hydroxyl-containing side chains are introduced to jointly adjust the formation of phase separation *** results show that PTI-PTF50-NOH AEM with the appropriate fluorinated group ratio has the best ionic conductivity and alkali stability under the combined effect of *** has an ionic conductivity of 133.83 ms cm-1at 80°*** addition,the OH-conductivity remains at 89%of the initial value at 80°C and 3 M KOH for 1056 h of *** cell polarization curve based on PTI-PTF50-NOH shows a power density of 734.76 mW cm-2at a current density of 1807.7 mA cm-2.

Integrating mechanical computing functions into robotic materials,microelectromechanical systems,or soft robotics can improve their intelligence in stimulation-response *** mechanical computing systems exhibit limitations,including incomplete functions,unchangeable computing rules,difficulties in realizing random logic,and lack of *** overcome these limitations,we propose a straightforward method of designing mechanical computing systems—based on the logic expressions—for complex *** designed soft,B-shaped mechanical metamaterial units,and compressed them to render stress inputs;the outputs are represented by the light-shielding effects caused by the unit *** realized logic gates and corresponding combinations(including half/full binary adder/subtractor and addition/subtraction of 2 numbers with multiple bits)and provided a versatile solution for making a mechanical analog-to-digital converter to generate both ordered and disordered *** performed all of the computations within the elastic regions of the B-shaped units;thus,after one computation,the systems can return to the initial states for *** proposed mechanical computers will potentially enable robotic materials,microelectromechanical systems,or soft robotics to perform complex ***,one can extend this concept to systems that are based on other mechanisms or materials.

Design of Cr2O3@ZnO Hetero-junction Hierarchical nanostructures with Enhanced Xylene-sensing Properties

Cr2O3@ZnO hetero-junction hierarchical nanostructures were designed to be enhanced xylene sensing material, and thereinto, flower-like ZnO hierarchical nanostrnctures were synthesized via a solution-based method, and then Cr2O3 particles were developed on the surface of ZnO petals via a solvothermal method. From the results of XRD patterns, sEM and TEM images, it can be observed that ZnO has a high-quallity crystallinity and Cr2O3 particles scatter uniformly on the suruface of ZnO. The products with different ratios of Cr2O3 were used to fabricate gas sensors, and the result indicates that the hetero-junction structures prompt the response to xylene, and the reason may be attributed to the decrease of main carriers concentration caused by the p-n junction between ZnO（n-type semiconductor） and Cr2O3（p-type semiconductor）, as well as the catalytic oxidation effect on methyl groups of the xylene by Cr2O3.

Deformation and Failure Analysis of River Levee Induced by Coal Mining and Its Influence Factor

To study the influence of coal mining on the stability of river levees,a mechanical model of mining-induced river levee deformation was *** was based on the mining-induced deformation characteristics of river levees and the application of a typical surface subsidence ***,a failure criterion was proposed for river *** some examples,the deformation of,and stress distribution through,river levees under the influence of mining were obtained:the maximum tensile stress on the bottom of the river levee was less than the tensile strength,under which circumstance the river levee remained ***,this research analyzed the influence of three factors including the maximum surface subsidence wmax,half-length of surface subsidence basin L,and foundation coefficient k on the stability of river *** showed that reducing the mining height of the working face and the foundation co-efficient,and increasing the strike length of the working face could reduce the influence of mining on river *** results provided a theoretical basis for predicting the mining-induced deformation and failure of river levees.

Two Classes of Operators with Irreducibility and the small and Compact Perturbations of Them

This paper gives the concepts of finite dimensional irreducible operators（（FDI） operators）and infinite dimensional irreducible operators（（IDI） operators）. Discusses the relationships of（FDI）operators,（IDI） operators and strongly irreducible operators（（sI） operators） and illustrates some properties of the three classes of operators. some sufficient conditions for the finite-dimensional irreducibility of operators which have the forms of upper triangular operator matrices are given. This paper proves that every operator with a singleton spectrum is a small compact perturbation of an（FDI） operator on separable Banach spaces and shows that every bounded linear operator T can be approximated by operators in（Σ FDI）（X） with respect to the strong-operator topology and every compact operator K can be approximated by operators in（Σ FDI）（X） with respect to the norm topology on a Banach space X with a schauder basis, where（ΣFDI）（X）：= {T∈B（X）： T=Σki=1Ti, Ti ∈（FDI）, k ∈ N}.

A new dataset of dog breed images and a benchmark for fine-grained classification

In this paper, we introduce an image dataset for fine-grained classification of dog breeds: the Tsinghua Dogs Dataset. It is currently the largest dataset for fine-grained classification of dogs, including 130 dog breeds and 70,428 real-world images. It has only one dog in each image and provides annotated bounding boxes for the whole body and head. In comparison to previous similar datasets, it contains more breeds and more carefully chosen images for each breed. The diversity within each breed is greater,with between 200 and 7000+ images for each *** of the whole body and head makes the dataset not only suitable for the improvement of finegrained image classification models based on overall features, but also for those locating local informative parts. We show that dataset provides a tough challenge by benchmarking several state-of-the-art deep neural models. The dataset is available for academic purposes at https://***/ThuDogs/.
