Defect detection and repair algorithm for structures generated by topology optimization based on 3D hierarchical fully convolutional network

Customized 3D-printed structural parts are widely used in surgical *** satisfy the mechanical properties and kinematic functions of these structural parts,a topology optimization technique is adopted to obtain the optimal structural layout while meeting the constraints and ***,topology optimization currently faces some practical challenges that must be addres.ed,such as.ensuring that structures do not have significant defects when converted to additive manufacturing *** address this problem,we designed a 3D hierarchical fully convolutional network(FCN)to predict the precise position of the defective *** on the prediction results,an effective repair strategy is adopted to repair the defective structure.A series of experiments is conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our *** to the 2D fully convolutional network and the rule-based detection method,our approach can accurately capture most defect structures and achieve 89.88%precision and 95.59%***,we investigate the impact of different ways to increase the receptive field of our model,as well as the trade-off between different defect-repairing *** results of the experiment demonstrate that the hierarchical structure,which increases the receptive field,can substantially improve the defect detection *** the best of our knowledge,this paper is the first to investigate 3D defect prediction and repair for topology optimization in conjunction with deep learning algorithms,providing practical tools and new pers.ectives for the subsequent development of topology optimization techniques.

Facile fabrication of CdIn2s4/TiO2 heterojunction for enhanced solar light efficient CO2 reduction

Photocatalytic CO2 reduction is a promising solution to simultaneously provide renewable chemical fuels and address the greenhouse effect. However, designing practical photocatalysts with advanced architectures remains challenging. Herein, we report the preparation of a novel CdIn2s4/TiO2 binary heterojunction via an in situ solvothermal approach, which exhibits superior photocatalytic activity for sunlight-driven CO2 reduction. The CdIn2s4/TiO2 composites.exhibit significantly enhanced photocatalytic performance for CO2 reduction compared to unmodified TiO2. Among them, the 3% CdIn2s4/TiO2 composite has optimal CO and CH4 evolution rates of 18.32 and 1.03 mu mole dot>g(-1)e dot>h(-1), res.ectively. The yield of CO is 4.7 times higher than that of pristine TiO2. This improved photocatalytic activity of the CdIn2s4/TiO2 heterostructure can be attributed to its large surface area, extended light absorption range and high separation efficiency of photogenerated electron-hole pairs, which are supported by the results of photolumines.ence s.ectroscopy and the photoelectrochemical measurements. Moreover, the photocatalytic mechanism based on the binary CdIn2s4/TiO2 heterojunction is proposed and separation process of photogenerated electron-hole pairs is discus.ed. In brief, we aim to provide insights into the application of TiO2 in energy conversion proces.es through the construction of heterogeneous junctions.

Nonlinear wave dis.ersion in monoatomic chains with lumped and distributed mas.es:discrete and continuum models

The main objective of this paper is to investigate the influence of inertia of nonlinear springs on the dis.ersion behavior of discrete monoatomic chains with lumped and distributed *** developed model can represent the wave propagation problem in a non-homogeneous material consisting of heavy inclusions.embedded in a *** inclusions are idealized by lumped mas.es,and the matrix between adjacent inclusions is modeled by a nonlinear spring with distributed ***,the model is capable of depicting the wave propagation in bi-material bars,wherein the first material is represented by a rigid particle and the second one is represented by a nonlinear spring with distributed *** discrete model of the nonlinear monoatomic chain with lumped and distributed mas.es is first considered,and a closed-form expression of the dis.ersion relation is obtained by the second-order Linds.edt-Poincare method(LPM).Next,a continuum model for the nonlinear monoatomic chain is derived directly from its discrete lattice model by a suitable continualization *** subsequent use of the second-order method of multiple scales(MMs)facilitates the derivation of the corresponding nonlinear dis.ersion relation in a closed *** novelties of the present study consist of(i)considering the inertia of nonlinear springs on the dis.ersion behavior of the discrete mass-spring chains;(ii)developing the second-order LPM for the wave propagation in the discrete chains;and(iii)deriving a continuum model for the nonlinear monoatomic chains with lumped and distributed ***,a parametric study is conducted to examine the effects of the design parameters and the distributed spring mass on the nonlinear dis.ersion relations and phase velocities obtained from both the discrete and continuum *** parameters include the ratio of the spring mass to the lumped mass,the nonlinear stiffness coefficient of the spring,and the wave amplitude.

evaluation of the seismic behavior of reinforced concrete structures with flat slab-column gravity frame and s.ear walls through nonlinear analysis methods

This paper presents an investigation of the seismic behavior of reinforced concrete(RC)structures in which s.ear walls are the main lateral load-resisting elements and the participation of flat slab floor sys.ems is not considered in the seismic design *** this regard,the behavior of six prototype structures(with different heights and plan layouts)is investigated through nonlinear static and time history analyses,implemented in the Opens.es *** results of the analyses are presented in terms of the behavior of the slab-column connections and their mode of failure at different loading ***,the global response of the buildings is discus.ed in terms of some parameters,such as lateral overstrength due to the gravity flat slab-column *** to the nonlinear static analyses,in structures in which the slab-column connections were designed only for gravity loads,the slab-column connections.exhibited a punching mode of failure even in the early stages of ***,the punching failure was.eliminated in structures in which a minimum trans.erse reinforcement recommended in ACI 318(2019)was provided in the slabs at joint ***,despite neglecting the contribution of gravity flat slab-column frames in the lateral load resistance of the structures,a relatively significant overstrength was imposed on the structures by the gravity frames.

KLnF_(4):Yb^(3+),er^(3+)/Ho^(3+)(Ln=Y,Yb,Gd)phosphors were prepared by solid-state reaction *** each of the Yb^(3+)/er^(3+)and Yb^(3+)/Ho^(3+)co-doped phosphors independently,phase confirmation and morphological examination were accomplis.ed using the X-ray diffraction technique and scanning electron microscope analysis.X-ray photoelectron s.ectroscopy analysis shows the charge state and exis.ence of lanthanides and *** lumines.ence emissions of green and red colour were detected for the synthesized *** changes in the upconverted emission intensities and colour output pertaining to the change of the lanthanide host matrix along with dopants were investigated for the prepared *** the upconversion lumines.ence,erbium-doped samples.exhibit a predominance of red emission while holmium-doped samples display a prevalence of green *** rare-earth er/Ho doped KYbF4shows strong red emission compared to other ***_(4):Yb,er/Ho exhibits relatively significant green upconve rsion emissions,while Yb,er-doped KGdF_(4)host displays a 10-fold increase in green/red emission ratio with an increase in the input power of 20-780 *** photolumines.ence studies and decay curve analysis were carried out using UV light excitation for the developed phosphors.A higher lifetime of 2.2 ms was measured for the downshifting red emission in the Ho doped KYbF_(4)*** study suggests a potential for colour tunability in the upconversion and downshifting emissions through host modifications to the fluoride phosphor.

LiDAR-based estimation of bounding box coordinates using Gaussian process regression and particle swarm optimization

Camera-based object tracking sys.ems in a given closed environment lack privacy and *** this study,light detection and ranging(LiDAR)was applied to track objects similar to the camera tracking in a closed environment,guaranteeing privacy and *** primary objective was to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed technique through carefully designed experiments conducted using two *** s.enario I,the study illustrates the capability of the proposed technique to detect the locations of multiple objects positioned on a flat surface,achieved by analyzing LiDAR data collected from several locations within the closed *** II demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed technique in detecting multiple objects using LiDAR data obtained from a single,fixed ***-time experiments are conducted with human subjects navigating predefined *** individuals move within an environment,while LiDAR,fixed at the center,dynamically tracks and identifies their locations at multiple *** demonstrate that a single,strategically positioned LiDAR can adeptly detect objects in motion around ***,this study provides a comparison of various regression techniques for predicting bounding box *** process regression(GPR),combined with particle swarm optimization(PsO)for prediction,achieves the lowest prediction mean square error of all the regression techniques.examined at *** tuning of GPR using PsO significantly minimizes the regression *** of the experiment pave the way for its.extension to various real-time applications such as crowd management in malls,surveillance sys.ems,and various Internet of Things s.enarios.
