The Himalayas.hailed as the‘water towers of the world’feed many perennial rivers which form the lifeline of the Indian *** change induced rising global temperatures and changing rainfall patterns are currently threatening the glaciers that feed the *** combination of these factors is causing water stresses to a part of the world which is usually considered water *** there are some large-scale studies done in the Himalayas,regional analysis of changing rainfall patterns and their impacts on vegetation and agriculture is *** we focus on the Indian state of sikkim located in the Eastern Himalayas to evaluate these issues using mixed *** use satellite data from PERsIANN and MODIs to characterise the regional rainfall,vegetation,and surface temperature trends between 2001 and *** the analysis shows overall declining rainfall trends across most land cover classes,the trends in temperature are mostly positive for the period of study,with winter Land surface Temperature(LsT)values showing the largest area with marginally significant(psitive *** contrast,such patterns are not observed for ***,the interviews corroborate that even agriculture is impacted,implying that the trends continue at finer spatial scales *** lack of government support for adaptation and mitigation is also lamented placing the communities at a precarious position to continuing climate change.

A palladium catalyst immobilized on superparaganetic nanoparticles was prepared with a palladium loading of 0.30 mmol/g. The catalyst was characterized using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, vibrating sample magnetometry, thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier transform infrared, atomic absorption spectrophotometry, and nitrogen adsorption. The immobilized palladium catalyst was an efficient catalyst without added phosphine ligands for the suzuki cross-coupling reaction of several aryl bromides with phenylboronic acid. The recovery of catalyst was simply by magnetic decantation in the presence of a magnet. The immobilized palladium catalyst can be reused many times without significant degradation in catalytic activity. No leaching of active palladium species into the reaction solution was detected.

sodium ion batteries (sIBs) are alternatives to lithium ion batteries (LIBs), and offer some significant benefits such as cost reduction and a lower environmental impact;however, to compete with LIBs, further research is required to improve the performance of sIBs. In this study, an orthorhombic Na super ionic conductor structural Fe_(2)(MoO_(4))_(3) nanosheet with amorphous-crystalline core-shell alignment was synthesized using a facile low-temperature water-vapor-assisted solid-state reaction and applied as a cathode material for sIBs. The obtained material has a well-defined three-dimensional stacking structure, and exhibits a high specific capacity of 87.8 mAh·g^(−1) at a current density of 1 C = 91 mA·g^(−1) after 1,000 cycles, which is due to the considerable contribution of extra surface-related reaction such as the pseudo-capacitive process. This material shows significantly improved cycling and rated behavior as well as enhanced performance under high- and low-temperature conditions, as compared to the same materials prepared by the conventional high-temperature solid-state reaction. This enhancement is explained by the unique morphology in combination with the improved kinetics of the electrochemical reaction due to its lower charge transfer resistance and higher sodium ion conductivity.

Objective:To determine the prevalence and risk factors associated with drug resistance tuberculosis(TB) at facility-base level in Tanga,***:A total of 79 Mycobacterium tuberculosis(MTB) isolates included in the study were collected from among372(312 new and 60 previously treated) TB suspects self referred to four TB clinics during a prospective study conducted from November 2012 to January *** and drug susceptibility test of the isolates was performed at the institute of medical microbiology and epidemiology of infectious diseases,University hospital,Leipzig,*** on the patient's characteristics were obtained from structured questionnaire administered to the patients who gave informed verbal *** bivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to assess the risk factors for drug *** significance level was determined at Ps of any drug resistance and MDRTB were 12.7%and 6.3%*** prevalence of any drug resistance and MDRTB among new cases were 11.4%and 4.3%respectively,whereas among previously treated cases was 22.2%*** treated patients were more likely to develop anti-TB drug *** was no association between anti-TB drug resistances(including MDRTB) with the risk factors ***:High proportions of anti TB drug resistance among new and previously treated cases observed in this study suggest that,additional efforts still need to be done in identifying individual cases at facility base level for improved TB control programmes and drug resistance survey should continuously be monitored in the country.

Autism spectrum Disorder (AsD) is a developmental disorderwhose symptoms become noticeable in early years of the age though it canbe present in any age group. AsD is a mental disorder which affects the communicational, social and non-verbal behaviors. It cannot be cured completelybut can be reduced if detected early. An early diagnosis is.hampered by thevariation and severity of AsD symptoms as well as.having symptoms commonly seen in other mental disorders as well. Nowadays, with the emergenceof deep learning approaches in various fields, medical experts can be assistedin early diagnosis of AsD. It is very difficult for a practitioner to identifyand concentrate on the major feature’s leading to the accurate prediction ofthe AsD and this arises the need for having an automated approach. Also,presence of different symptoms of AsD traits amongst toddlers directs tothe creation of a large feature dataset. In this study, we propose a hybridapproach comprising of both, deep learning and Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) to find the most contributing features for the early and preciseprediction of AsD. The proposed framework gives more accurate predictionalong with the recommendations of predicted results which will be a vital aidclinically for better and early prediction of AsD traits amongst toddlers.

Background: The 11th Annual Conference of Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance Association was held on July 22-25, 2007 in Taipei, Taiwan. The first author participated in this annual conference where he met the second author who was invited to deliver two plenary speeches on Corporate Governance and Financial Institution Regulation [1] and Alternative Investments for Financial Institutions [2]. The first author was then working as consultant with i-flex solutions, a subsidiary of Oracle and the second author was Vice President of strategic Business Initiatives Units at ING Life Insurance in its Taiwan operation. The two authors decided to start collaborating on a research paper titled “Modeling Policyholder Behavior through Insurance Resonant Marts for Pricing Options and Guarantees.” The first version of the paper was submitted for research purposes to ING Insurance Risk Management Global Conference 2007 [3] which was held in Beijing, China. Although it was neither presented nor published, the working draft was constantly updated and revised. In 2015, after eight years of continuous research collaboration, the two authors decided to submit the final version of the paper to the 5th World Congress on Engineering and Technology for scholarly presentation. Aim: The competition in the insurance industry is extremely fierce. Insurance companies are under tremendous pressure to retain and increase their customer base, to offer services at attractive rates and provide returns competitive with mutual funds, equities and banks, to achieve profitability across various lines of insurance, to comply with statutory norms etc. Despite having the best of breeds, such as accountants, actuaries [4], lawyers, underwriters, IT experts, consultants, etc., many insurance companies face severe problems to cope with and survive under such pressures. Visible light communication(VLC) network over optical fiber has become a potential candidate in ultra-high speed indoor wireless communication. To mitigate signal distortion accumulated in optical fiber and VLC channel, we present to utilize support vector machine(sVM) for constellation classification in two kinds of geometrically-shaped 8 QAM(quadrature amplitude modulation) seamless integrated fiber and VLC system. We introduce 4 sub-bands to simulate multi-user. Experimental results show that system performance can be significantly improved, and transmission at-2.5 dB m input optical power under 7%forward error correction(FEC) threshold can be realized employing Circular(7, 1) geometrically-shaped8 QAM and sVM. At overall capacity of 960 Mbps, Q-factor increases by up to 11.5 dB.
