In this paper,the spatio-temporal variation and propagation direction of coal fire were studied in the Jharia Coalfield(JCF),India during 2006–2015 through satellite-based night-time land surface temperature(LsT)*** LsT was retrieved from Advanced spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer(AsTER)night-time thermal-infrared data by a robust split-window algorithm based on scene-specific regression coefficients,band-specific hybrid emissivity,and night-time atmospheric *** LsT-profile-based coal fire detection algorithm was formulated through statistical analysis of the LsT values along multiple transects across diverse coal fire locations in the JCF in order to compute date-specific threshold temperatures for separating thermally-anomalous and background *** algorithm efficiently separates surface fire,subsurface fire,and thermally-anomalous transitional *** the observation period,it was noticed that the coal fire area increased significantly,which resulted from new coal fire at many places owing to extensive opencast-mining *** was observed that the fire propagation occurred primarily along the dip direction of the coal *** places,lateral-propagation of limited spatial extent was also observed along the strike direction possibly due to spatial continuity of the coal seams along ***,the opencast-mining activities carried out during 2009–2015 and the structurally weak planes facilitated the fire propagation.

Identification and characterization of Trichoderma species aggressive to Pleurotus in Italy

In the late 1980’s the deve lop ment of a severe epidemic of green mold caused by Trichoderma spp. was not ed in the commercial production of Agaricus bisporus (champignon) in the U nited Kingdom, North America, spain and Holland, which caused extensive economic losses. The parasitic fungi isolated from the edible mushroom belonged to four biotypes, Th1, Th2, Th3 and Th4 of T. harzianum. However, among these biotypes, only Th2 (since c lassified as T. aggressivum f. europaeum) and Th4 (T. aggressivum f. aggressivum) were identified as the fungi causing problems in Agaricus production. In general, mushroom compost hosts both aggressive and innocuous is olates of Trichoderma, which are not morphologically distinguishable. Abo ut four years ago, a problem with green mold became apparent in the production o f Pleurotus ostreatus in Northern Italy, which eventually developed to a c risis situation in the south two years later and threatened to seriously comprom ise the Pleurotus market. This study was initiated to: isolate and identif y the aggressive fungi, then morphologically, physiologically and genetically characterize the isolates, dete rmine the source and phases of infection, and study methods of control. samples were obtained from different phases of compost preparation at the locality of a major producer and supplier of compost to the mushroom industry in southern Ital y, and microbial counts were conducted. Although the presence of Trichoderma was detected in the initial stages of composting, this value was reduced to zero from the phase of pasteurization to seeding with Pleurotus. Trichoderma infestations were noted in the packaged Pleurotus bales at various time s during the incubation phase (7-15 days after seeding) and after shipping to th e mushroom greenhouses, where the pathogen infestations greatly reduced the qual ity and quantity of the mushroom yield, as well as the number of potential harvest cycles. This paper reported a novel coating approach to deposit a （HA） film on Ti6Al4V alloy with Al2O3 buffer layer for thin, crack free and nano-structured hydroxyapatite biomedical implants. The Al2O3 buffer layer was deposited by plasma spraying while the HA top layer was applied by dip coating technique. The X-ray diffraction （XRD） and Raman reflections of alumina buffer layer showed α- to γ-Al2O3 phase transformation; and the fractographic analysis of the sample revealed the formation of columnar grains in well melted splats. The bonding strength between Al2O3 coating and Ti6Al4V substrate was estimated to be about 40 MPa. The presence of dip coated HA layer was confirmed using XRD, scanning electron microscopy （sEM） and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDX） analysis. The sEM images exhibited that HA top layer enveloped homogenously the troughs and crests of the underneath rough （Ra = 2.91 μm） Al2O3 surface. It is believed that the novel coating approach adopted might render the implant suitable for rapid cement-less fixation as well as biocompatible for longer periods.

Hot-dip coating has been practically employed in manufacturing zinc alloy coated steel ***,it is difficult to coat aluminum alloy on a bulky steel substrate without sufficient preheating,because a rapidly solidified layer containing gas babbles is formed on a substrate surface.A variety of iron-aluminides are also formed at the interface of a steel and aluminum hot-dip coating system,which is the main difficulty in joining of steel with *** vibration was applied to a steel substrate during hot-dip coating of aluminum alloy to control a rapidly solidified layer and a brittle reaction *** dipping of columnar steel substrates into molten aluminum alloy （Al-2.7 mass fraction si-4.6 mass fraction sn） was carried out through the use of a Langevin oscillator with resonant frequency of 19.5 *** application of ultrasonic vibration is quite effective to control a rapidly solidified layer and a surface oxide layer from a substrate surface by the sonocapillary effect based on a cavitation phenomenon,so that the intimate contact is achieved at the beginning of hot-dip *** application of ultrasonic vibration to hot-dipping is effective to control a reaction layer with less than 5 #m in *** impact test exhibits that the good adhesive strength is approved in hot-dipped aluminum coatings with a thin reaction layer of approximately 5μm.

Finite-element 3D modeling of stress patterns around a dipping fault

stresses in a block around a dipping fracture simulating a damage zone of a fault are reconstructed by finite-element modeling. A fracture corresponding to a fault of different lengths, with its plane dipping at different angles, is assumed to follow a lithological interface and to experience either compression or shear. The stress associated with the destruction shows an asymmetrical pattern with different distances from the highest stress sites to the fault plane in the hanging and foot walls. As the dip angle decreases,the high-stress zone becomes wider in the hanging wall but its width changes negligibly in the foot *** length of the simulated fault and the deformation type affect only the magnitude of maximum stress,which remains asymmetrical relative to the fault plane. The Lh/Lfratio, where Lhand Lfare the widths of high-stress zones in the hanging and foot walls of the fault, respectively, is inversely proportional to the fault plane dip. The arithmetic mean of this ratio over different fault lengths in fractures subject to compression changes from 0.29 at a dip of 80°to 1.67 at 30°. In the case of shift displacement, ratios are increasing to 1.2 and 2.94, *** they consider vertical fault planes and symmetry in a damage zone of faults. Following that assumption may cause errors in reconstructions of stress and fault patterns in areas of complex structural setting. According geological data, we know the structures are different and asymmetric in hanging and foot walls of fault. Thus, it is important to quantify zones of that asymmetry. The modeling results have to be taken into account in studies of natural faults, especially for practical applications in seismic risk mapping, engineering geology, hydrogeology, and tectonics.

A zeolitic imidazolate hybrid membrane(Co-IM-mIM) containing two imidazolate ligands deposited on a macroporous α-alumina support was prepared by pre-depositing and secondary growth technique. XRD, TGA and sEM characterizations demonstrate that a stable and thin, but dense and pure-phase Co-IM-mIM membrane can be obtained on the macroporous-alumina discs in Teflon-lined autoclave at 120 °C after pre-depositing by dip-coating at room temperature. No visible cracks, pinholes or other defects were observed on the membrane layer. The gas separation studies of Co-IM-mIM membrane were carried out at 25 °C and 1×10~5 Pa, showing ideal selectivity of 6.95, 5.25, 3.40 for H_2/CO_2, H_2/N_2 and H_2/CH_4, respectively, and a permeance of 17.37× 10^(-6) mol/(m^2·s·Pa) for H_2. The influence of temperature and trans-membrane pressure on hydrogen separation and permeation was also carried out. The gas permeation and selectivity demonstrate that this membrane may have potential applications for efficient H_2 separation.

This paper presents the first release of an Informational system（Is）devoted to the systematic collection of all available data relating to Pliocene-Quaternary faults in southern East siberia,their critical analysis and their seismotectonic *** final goal of this project is to form a new base for improving the assessment of seismic hazard and other natural processes associated with crustal *** presented Is has been exploited to create a relational database of active and conditionally active faults in southern East siberia（between 100°-114° E and 50°-57° N）whose central sector is characterized by the highly seismic Baikal rift *** information within the database for each fault segment is organized as distinct but intercorrelated sections（tables,texts and pictures,etc.）and can be easily visualized as HTML pages in offline *** preliminary version of the database distributed free on disk already highlights the general fault pattern showing that the Holocene and historical activity is quite uniform and dominated by NE-sW and nearly E-W trending faults;the former with a prevailing dip-slip normal kinematics,while the latter structures are left-lateral strike-slip and oblique-slip（with different proportion of left-lateral and normal fault slip components）.These faults are mainly concentrated along the borders of the rift basins and are the main sources of moderate-to-strong（M≥5.5）earthquakes on the southern sectors of East siberia in recent *** a whole,based on analyzing the diverse fault kinematics and their variable spatial distribution with respect to the overall pattern of the tectonic structures formed and/or activated during the late Pliocene-Quaternary,we conclude they were generated under a regional stress field mainly characterized by a relatively uniform NW-sE tension,but strongly influenced by the irregular hard boundary of the old siberian *** obtained inferences are in an agreement with the existing models

Chemically synthesized near-infrared to mid-infrared(IR)colloidal quantum dots(QDs)offer a promising platform for the realization of devices including emitters,detectors,security,and sensor ***,at longer wavelengths,the quantum yield of such QDs decreases as the radiative emission rate drops following Fermi’s golden rule,while non-radiative recombination channels compete with light *** over the radiative and non-radiative channels of the IR-emitting QDs is crucially important to improve the performance of IR-range ***,we demonstrate strong enhancement of the spontaneous emission rate of near-to mid-IR HgTe QDs coupled to periodically arranged plasmonic nanoantennas,in the form of nanobumps,produced on the surface of glasssupported Au films via ablation-free direct femtosecond laser *** enhancement is achieved by simultaneous radiative coupling of the emission that spectrally matches the first-order lattice resonance of the arrays,as well as more efficient photoluminescence excitation provided by coupling of the pump radiation to the local surface plasmon resonances of the isolated ***,coupling of the HgTe QDs to the lattice plasmons reduces the influence of non-radiative decay losses mediated by the formation of polarons formed between QD surface-trapped carriers and the IR absorption bands of dodecanethiol used as a ligand on the QDs,allowing us to improve the shape of the emission spectrum through a reduction in the spectral dip related to this ligand *** the ease of the chemical synthesis and processing of the HgTe QDs combined with the scalability of the direct laser fabrication of nanoantennas with tailored plasmonic responses,our results provide an important step towards the design of IR-range devices for various applications.

An approach which combines particle swarm optimization and support vector machine(PsO–sVM)is proposed to forecast large-scale goaf instability(LsGI).Firstly,influencing factors of goaf safety are analyzed,and following parameters were selected as evaluation indexes in the LsGI:uniaxial compressive strength(UCs)of rock,elastic modulus(E)of rock,rock quality designation(RQD),area ration of pillar(sp),the ratio of width to height of the pillar(w/h),depth of ore body(H),volume of goaf(V),dip of ore body(a)and area of goaf(sg).Then LsGI forecasting model by PsO-sVM was established according to the influencing *** performance of hybrid model(PsO+sVM=PsO–sVM)has been compared with the grid search method of support vector machine(GsM–sVM)*** actual data of 40 goafs are applied to research the forecasting ability of the proposed method,and two cases of underground mine are also validated by the proposed *** results indicated that the heuristic algorithm of PsO can speed up the sVM parameter optimization search,and the predictive ability of the PsO–sVM model with the RBF kernel function is acceptable and robust,which might hold a high potential to become a useful tool in goaf risky prediction research.
