The mechanosensor theory of TCR function holds theα/βcomponent of the T-cell antigen receptor complex ultimately responsible for adaptive immunity[1,2,3].T-cell motility is envisioned to provide a force necessary to slow TCR dynamics as it sits on the pMHC ligand of an antigen presenting cell[1],which theoretically allows the TCR to discriminate different pMHC structures,principally by the so-called catch bonds(mostly H-bonds)at the interfaces of the 5-component complex(i.e.,TCRα/TCRβ/peptide/MHC-IIα(or,MHC-heavy-chain)/MHC-IIβ(or MHC-light-chain)[1,2,3,4].

This investigation deals with the influence of slip condition on the magne- tohydrodynamic （MHd） and rotating flow of a generalized Oldroyd-B （G. Oldroyd-B） fluid occupying a porous space. FractionM calculus approach is used in the mathematical modeling. Three illustrative examples induced by plate oscillations and periodic pressure gradient are considered, and the exact solutions in each case are derived. Comparison is provided between the results of slip and no-slip conditions. The influence of slip is highlighted on the velocity profile by displaying graphs.

Actuator disks(Ad)can provide characterizations of rotor wakes while reducing computational expense associated with modeling the fully resolved *** work presents an unsteady actuator disk method based on surface circulation distribution combined with empirical data,blade element theory and rotor momentum *** nonuniform circulation distribution accounts for 3 d blade load effects,and in particular,tip *** simulations were conducted for the isolated pressure sensitive paint model rotor blade in hover and forward flight using the HMB3 CFd solver of Glasgow *** of CFd results in comparison with published numerical data was performed in hover,for a range of blade pitch angles using fully turbulent flow and the k-x ssT *** forward flight,the vortex structures predicted using the unsteady actuator disk model showed configurations similar to the ones obtained using fully resolved rotor *** the reduced grid cells number,the CFd results for Ad models captured well the main vortical structures around the rotor disk in comparison to the fully resolved cases.

The Hamilton-Jacobi method of quantizing singular systems is discussed. The equations of motion areobtained as total differential equations in many variables. It is shown that if the system is integrable, one can obtain thecanonical phase space coordinates and set of canonical Hamilton-Jacobi partial differential equations without any needto introduce unphysical auxiliary fields. As an example we quantize the O(2) nonlinear sigma model using two differentapproaches: the functional schrodinger method to obtain the wave functionals for the ground and the exited state andthen we quantize the same model using the canonical path integral quantization as an integration over the canonicalphase-space coordinates.

Theα/βcomponent of the T-cell antigen receptor(TCR)is a transmembrane heterodimer containing genetically variable(V)domains and constant domains within each polypeptide chain.1 The Vαand Vβdomains bind with a clonally unique(clonotypic)interface angle,2 and the complementary determining regions(CdR1,CdR2,and CdR3)manifest as‘loops’between anti-parallelβ-strands of the overall sandwich ofβ-sheets with a central disulfide *** with immunoglobulins,the CdR1 and CdR2 loops are encoded in the germline via the particular V-region dNA segment involved in the RAG1/RAG2 recombination mechanism responsible for somatic construction,together with the d-and/or J-segment,of the third loop,CdR3.1,3 As shown by multiple solved X-ray crystallography structures,the CdRs contain the closest amino acid(a.a.)contacts with the peptide(p)plus the major histocompatibility complex(MHC)protein(together abbrev.,pMHC)composite *** rigorous selection in the thymus for only those TCRs that should function properly in the particular individual after birth(MHC restriction),4 T cells function clonally as well,i.e.,different T-cell clones display differential responses to not only different pMHC ligands but also perhaps more importantly,to the same pMHC ligands.5,6 A long-standing question is how(not whether)TCR V-domain binding to pMHC is ultimately responsible for such vast biological outcomes as protection *** to infectious diseases,atopy,the onset of autoimmune diseases,and the success of various types of transplantation.

Approximately 30% of patients with rectal cancer present with metastatic disease. Many of these patients have symptoms of bleeding or obstruction. several treatment options are available to deal with the various complications that may afflict these patients. Endorectal stenting, laser ablation, and operative resection are a few of the options available to the patient with a malignant large bowel obstruction. A thorough understanding of treatment options will ensure the patient is offered the most effective therapy with the least amount of associated morbidity. In this review, we describe various options for palliation of symptoms in patients with metastatic rectal cancer. Additionally, we briefly discuss treatment for asymptomatic patients with metastatic disease.

The first hydrodynamic instability growth measurements with three-dimensional(3d) surface-roughness modulations were performed on CH shell spherical implosions at the National Ignition Facility(NIF) [G. H. Miller, E. I. Moses, and C. R. Wuest, Opt. Eng. 43, 2841(2004)]. The initial capsule outer-surface amplitudes were increased approximately four times, compared with the standard specifications, to increase the signal-to-noise ratio, helping to qualify a technique for measuring small 3d modulations. The instability growth measurements were performed using x-ray through-foil radiography based on time-resolved pinhole imaging. Averaging over 15 similar images significantly increased the signal-to-noise ratio, making possible a comparison with 3d simulations. At a convergence ratio of～2.4, the measured modulation levels were～3 times larger than those simulated based on the growth of the known imposed initial surface modulations. several hypotheses are discussed, including increased instability growth due to modulations of the oxygen content in the bulk of the capsule. Future experiments will be focused on measurements with standard 3d ‘nativeroughness' capsules as well as with deliberately imposed oxygen modulations.

Pentoxifylline(PTX)is reported to provide beneficial outcomes in the treatment of neonatal sepsis and serious inflammatory conditions.1,2 In the neonatal intensive care setting,PTX is administered by intravenous(IV)infusion and is routinely co-administered via Ysite with other parenteral medications and/or *** the physicochemical compatibility of PTX with a range of parenteral drugs,IV fluids,and lipid-free parenteral nutrition solutions has been reported,there is an emerging demand for more PTX compatibility data against previously untested medications(ampicillin,cloxacillin,fentanyl,fluconazole,furosemide,hydrocortisone,and ibuprofen lysine)and high-concentration IV drugs(alprostadil,dopamine,epinephrine,midazolam,milrinone,morphine,and norepinephrine)which may be used in fluid-restricted,vulnerable patients.3–5 In order to address this requirement for contemporary information,we investigated the physical and chemical compatibility of PTX with a panel of 20 drugs,in 51 PTX-drug combinations.
