The effects of plant density of Melastoma malabathricum on the erosion rate of slope soil at different slope orientations

Malaysia's cut slopes,especially for road lines accommodation,are prone to erosions and *** problems mainly occur due to lack of vegetation cover and strong erosive *** addition,the topography factors have also become a major factor affecting soil ***,this study is aimed at determining the effects of planting density of a selected species,namely Melastoma malabathricum;one,two,and three seedlings per box,on the erosion rate at selected slopes of different orientation(morning and evening sun) at the Guthrie Corridor Expressway,*** six months of observation,treatment with three seedlings/box on the morning sun slope showed a lower erosion rate by 69.2%than those with the same treatment on the evening sun *** addition,the treatment of the three seedlings recorded at month six(final observation) had the highest reduction of soil saturation level(sTL),by 23.6%.Furthermore,the physiological values of the species studied,grown on the morning sun slope,were higher in terms of stomatal conductance and photosynthetic rate by 12.1%and 15.8%(three seedlings/box),*** overall results showed that plant density was inversely related to the sTL and erosion rate on the *** conclusion,a planting density of three seedlings/box and morning sun orientation gave positive effects on the plant's physiological performance of the slope,reducing the sTL,as well as alleviating the erosion rate of slope soils.

为了对发动机燃烧不稳定性进行被动控制,利用亥姆赫兹声学共振器原理,设计一种声学阀门,当一个管道侧面安装的亥姆赫兹共振器的空腔壁面是柔软的时候,声学阀门的性能与频率就没有很强的关系,从而实现由于热声学不稳定带来的压力和热释放导致的不稳定燃烧进行被动控制。阀门的功能是让声音通过,但它必须阻止时间平均意义上的流动。本文对带有这种装置的热声学特征根问题给出数值解。结果显示声学阀门对燃烧室内的驻波结构造成很大改变,进而可以消除不稳定的特征根模态。只要阀门具备足够的尺寸,这种效果可以在任意的线性火焰声学特性中广泛实现。

Background:Patients with inflammatory bowel diseases frequently require surgery,but immunotherapies used in disease management may increase the risk of post-operative *** investigated frequencies of post-operative complications in patients who received vedolizumab—a gut-selective antibody approved for the treatment of moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease—in clinical-trial and post-marketing ***:This post hoc analysis of safety data from GEMINI 1,GEMINI 2,and long-term safety studies included patients who had had colectomy or bowel surgery/*** from the post-marketing Vedolizumab Global safety Database were also analysed(data cutoff point:19 May 2016).Adverse events relating to post-operative complications were identified using Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities preferred ***:Of 58 total surgeries in patients included in GEMINI 1 and GEMINI 2,post-operative complications were reported for 3/51 vedolizumab-treated patients(5.9%)and 1/7 placebo-treated patients(14.3%).In the long-term safety study,157/2,243 patients(7%)had colectomy or bowel surgery/resection;of these 157 patients who underwent surgery,11(7%)experienced a post-operative *** time between last pre-operative vedolizumab dose and surgery was 23 days in GEMINI 1,20 days in GEMINI 2,and 39–40 days in the long-termsafety *** the post-marketing setting,based on data covering approximately 46,978 patient-years of vedolizumab exposure,post-operative complications were reported in 19 ***:In clinical trials,complications of colectomy and bowel surgery/resection appeared infrequent,with minimal difference between vedolizumab and *** frequency of post-operative complications in the post-marketing setting appears low.

We characterized a unique group of patients with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder （NMOsD） who carded autoantibod- ies of aquaporin-4 （AQP4） and myelin-oligodendrocyte glycoprotein （MOG）. Among the 125 NMOsD patients, 10 （8.0%） were AQP4- and MOG-ab double positive, and 14 （11.2%） were MOG-ab single positive. The double-positive patients had a multiphase disease course with a high annual relapse rate （P=0.0431）, and severe residual disability （P〈0.0001）. Of the dou- ble-positive patients, 70% had Ms-like brain lesions, more severe edematous, multifocal regions on spinal magnetic resonance imaging （MRI）, pronounced decreases of retinal nerve fiber layer thickness and atrophy of optic nerves. In contrast, patients with only MOG-ab had a higher ratio of monophasic disease course and mild residual disability. spinal cord MRI illustrated multifocal cord lesions with mild edema, and brain MRIs showed more lesions around lateral ventricles. NMOsD patients carrying both autoantibodies to AQP4 and MOG existed and exhibited combined features of prototypic NMO and relaps- ing-remitting form of Ms, whereas NMOsD with antibodies to MOG only exhibited an ＂intermediate＂ phenotype between NMOsD and Ms. Our study suggests that antibodies against MOG might be pathogenic in NMOsD patients and that determi- nation of anti-MOG antibodies maybe instructive for management of NMOsD patients.

AIM To investigate the microvascular(skeletal muscle tissue oxygenation; smO_2) response to transfusion in patients undergoing elective complex spine *** After IRB approval and written informed consent, 20 patients aged 18 to 85 years of age undergoing > 3level anterior and posterior spine fusion surgery were enrolled in the study. Patients were followed throughout the operative procedure, and for 12 h postoperatively. In addition to standard American society of Anesthesiologists monitors, invasive measurements including central venous pressure, continual analysis of stroke volume(sV), cardiac output(CO), cardiac index(CI), and stroke volume variability(sVV) was performed. To measure skeletal muscle oxygen saturation(smO_2) during the study period, a non-invasive adhesive skin sensor based on Near Infrared spectroscopy was placed over the deltoid muscle for continuous recording of optical spectra. All administration of fluids and blood products followed standard procedures at the Hospital for special surgery, without deviation from usual standards of care at the discretion of the Attending Anesthesiologist based on individual patient comorbidities, hemodynamic status, and laboratory data. Time stamps were collected for administration of colloids and blood products, to allow for analysis of smO_2 immediately before, during, and after administration of these fluids, and to allow for analysis of hemodynamic data around the same time points. Hemodynamic and oxygenation variables were collected continuously throughout the surgery, including heart rate, blood pressure, mean arterial pressure, sV, CO, CI, sVV, and smO_2. Bivariate analyses were conducted to examine the potential associations between the outcome of interest, smO_2, and each hemodynamic parameter measured using Pearson's correlation coeffi-cient, both for the overall cohort and within-patients individually.
